I thought Mansfield was a decent place when I went, certainly not a shithole. Then again I'm a Bradford lad. I'd be impressed with Syria if I went for an away day there.

City crowd was 18,540 with 420 from Morecambe. Shite numbers and noise from them.

1200 was given as the Sutton away attendance at plough lane but I can assure you that there were hundreds of empty seats in the away end.

To match the hundreds of empty seats in the home end.

Do Wimbledon count tickets sold rather than people inside the ground?

There’s always empty seats in sell outs as people congregate with mates in other areas. Am sure a few swerved who initially bought though given recent suffering.

577 Stockport in 5,866 at Barrow. Someone may correct me on the away attendance.

Come on Adam, don't act like Mansfield is any better! Most Northern towns are shitholes!

Oh there's loads of northern towns (and southern) which are dumps but let’s be real not one of them match grimsby.

The fact that it got sung after going behind and becoming the latest side to fuck off with no points after playing mansfield says it all .

If not a sell out that seems very low.

Can't have been a sellout as we offer just shy of 1,000. However, I'll never criticise any away support over Christmas. Expensive time of year and people working difficult patterns spending time with family. Fair play to anyone who travelled to watch their team today.

I heard 150 Stanley at Harrogate but can't guarantee it is 100% accurate.

Let's be honest they are both dumps, but one is comfortably more of a shithole than the other.

If you know, you know.

Yeah that's just for the seated stand down the side and if you want more they'll open up the bit of terracing for the remaining 3/400. Both were open yesterday.

GTFCFish did say shit for US, if it had been say, Lincoln, 5 off the bottom of League 2 without an away win all season, then 1200 would have been outstanding…
Yep, shit for us but a decent following for everyone else at this level. How many others are taking 1200 to a 12:30pm kickoff without trains when they've been in the bottom half of the table for 18 months and haven't won away all season? Like I've been saying all season, it's easy to put up four figure followings up when you're flying but not quite so when you've been in 18th for two months.

Must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by Bradford. Pubs aplenty, friendly locals and cheap beer. It was great to play in a big stadium too.

After dropping to non-league, you start to become more forgiving of visiting the other 'so-called' shitholes in the EFL. Going to Luton will also have the same impact.

Only 1200 Grimsby at Mansfield
"Only". With the exception of Bradford and the Hollywood Effect, there's no other team in this division taking 1200 supporters for an early kick off with no trains, 80 miles away, after no away wins in 17, to a side undefeated at home

I don't care how close to Christmas it is, that's appalling for a 1 hour trip at this level.

Brilliant numbers from Grimsby tbf. Surely anyone criticising is just having you on though.

Anyone aiming that is low is clearly deluded, a very misplaced comment.

Although the numbers who would do that journey by train rather than car/coach must be limited. Must take twice as long going cross country via public transport rather than jumping in a car.

Even on Boxing Day 1200 is great numbers in that scenario. You only have to look to the previous round of games to see some very valid qualifying 'Only....' away followings.

Just need an award followings update now.

As i said earlier it was a great following, we’d have filled the 1300 or so away end in grimsby though, no doubt of that.

Decent noise too, apart from some daft songs.

There has to be some doubt Afam surely? If you had been struggling all season, watching turgid football and not won a single away game all season (12 games) it is a very different scenario and outlook.

I very much doubt we would in that bleak scenario.

I doubt It if you were in Grimsby's position

I actually reckon we would.

Agree what’s been said, it’s a poor following only because of the usual superb standard from Grimsby, I did expect a sell out but I understand the reasons. That being said it’s a nice enough drive from Cleethorpes to Mansfield, very little speed cameras to worry about!

Considering Donny only took 1200 odd to County yesterday we may get a sub 1000 on Friday night from them, a shame because they sold out last season.

We probably have an inordinately large amount that go to matches on trains, I seldom don't bump into Town fans on the trains when I'm going to/from matches. Won't have just been people from GY/Cleethorpes affected by that. Plenty of exiles and plenty of people at their other halves' for Christmas. Don't think the club put coaches on either anymore, which doesn't help. I believe there are independent coaches but they were all full for this one, happy to be corrected on that though.

Yeah i agree with you, we would when down there.

Shame donny won’t bring many, but it’s understandable.

Having played wrexham bradford and stockport at home already i wonder if they’ll be another away sell out at mansfield this season tbh.
