Notts County have relented a little and given Vale another 309 tickets.

Strong-armed by the Vale massive.

Vale calling it a ‘reciprocal agreement’ between the clubs, which is an outbreak of sensible thinking by everyone involved.

Looks like we’ve been allowed to open up some more rows towards the pitch so it’s still only half the stand open. They’ve been closed off since some naughty Grimsby people went on the pitch (well, the bit by the pitch) a couple of years ago.

I don't know how you travel these days as we haven't shared a division since both clubs support has increased somewhat but that should be hopefully cater for both sides needs.

We sold out Crewe last season and it’s a similar sort of trip so about the same as you’re bringing I’d imagine. Not late enough in the season for there likely to be any more demand than that.

Should be good, as i said in the match thread its good to see both teams far away from the days on and off the pitch from where we last met.

It's great to see indeed.

Notts are lightyears away from where we were not in terms of the league we operate in but in almost every other facet of how the club operates. Resulting in a huge uplift in support especially again home.

Yeah we've obviously been on differing journeys but off the field certainly seems good for both clubs, after we nearly went down that season we got taken over and haven't looked back in that aspect and whilst last year was a bump in the road just to have an owner that cares and is trying to do the best for the club is refreshing after seemingly jumping from one problem to the next for a decade or two.

Obviously now they've had the big investment in their company as well this year and that's allowing her to invest heavily in the playing side now on top of all they've done with the infra structure.

Those extra tickets went within a few minutes of going on sale it seems so looking at 2200 following on Saturday.

Mental that, 4 minutes and they were gone. I thought 300 would’ve been enough but clearly not.

Reckon Vale have underestimated your own support here, def looks like you could’ve just had 3,000 in the first place.

I am surprised, possibly helped as first trip to Nottingham in six seasons, only the second game not on sky away from home and our form. We usually travel ok to County but 2200 is far more than we’ve taken before.

Good to see though.

Which game was that?

No way does Tranmere v Swindon deserve to be bottom of attendances, but alas I can't discover what was attendance on Tuesday.
5120 according to Fotmob but no away figure given.

Starting to think there's some truth in that. The 300 figure seems like one we've put forward. Let's face it Notts is a decent away day so when the fixtures came out a lot of people would have eyed this one up. Both teams in good form I thought before they went on sale we'd be close to 2k. Then when 1.9k had gone thought 3k was probably realistic.

Unfortunately like others, missed the announcement with working, by the time I saw it all tickets had gone.

2200 at Notts after getting 4300 at home.

Are you Mansfield in disguise?
Tuesday night on sky, most clubs suffered the same, we've generally been getting on a Saturday 6500-8000 so around 6-7k home fans which is superb considering we'd won about 5 games in 18 months at Vale Park before the season.

If we did our attendances like most clubs we'd have posted over 6500 on Tuesday due to "Tickets sold"

Kind Regards

Your basically comparing the lowest home crowd of the season with the highest away following. The vale home average is something like 6500. Think it was 6700 in a relegation season last season. Basically attendances are 1500 up from the normal 5000 average being hovering around for 15 years. Vale also only count people in the ground, 6500 season ticket holders but if 2000 don't turn up then they don't count towards the crowd whereas most other clubs would include these

The normal league game when you went up I think, the first one you won right at the end haha.
I don't remember that. I remember it happening about a decade ago and a couple of Town fans getting bans for a few years despite it being the result of a bit of a goal surge. The match you're on about is the one when The Times did an absolute hatchet job on our support. The reason I'm questioning this is because one of the things they used in the article was the fact that we sang about going on the pitch but as far as I remember nobody actually did.

I love that picture. Of all the shite that The Times published about that day, this picture was what that day was really about.

You’re right, it was bloody 2016. That does not feel like eight years ago! A cracking 2-2 draw when we sent on unlikely duo Vadaine Oliver and Aaron Collins to sort things out.

It was likely only said tongue in cheek as Mansfield previously brought more to Meadow Lane one year for the much advertised and the original Big Day Out than they got at Field Mill for their very next home game.

Hard to believe but true.

Pretty low turnouts Tuesday, not surprising considering the weather and the sky + deal mind.

Maybe expected a bit better from Bradford, but that may be harsh, not far off 300 from Grimsby is good.

First time we’ve failed to sell out Morecambe tbh. We’ve lost our last three away games in terrible fashion, half our squad is injured and it’s an 180 mile round trip on a Tues. 1,000+ is respectable, that’s it.

Yeah, having also checked was just after we'd come back up the first time. Peak Omar Bogle. Completely forgot Alan Smith played for so long for Notts too. Quite interesting reading the comments in this thread around that time (end of page 64/start of 65). Lots of talk of Notts' home numbers and Grimsby's away numbers. Just with fans of a few clubs that haven't been here for a while. Who remembers Luton and Wycombe?

I remember that one, yeah excellent game. I remember Shaun tuton was on loan to us, came on and slid one just passed the post which would have been the winner. He was brilliant in a 20 minute cameo and then turned completely dog shit for the rest of his career after that moment!

After our first pen against Southampton that picture was recreated with me in the middle but thankfully nobody took a picture of it, I was on the 4th row but fell to the front row celebrating and landed upside down.
