Nah, it is because they are 2nd and we are 16th.
Maybe it is, I'm sure all the evidence is on here to prove which of you has the better away support but in reality there is absolutely no need to scroll back as everyone already knows.

You’re right, we both have shite support. But it’s League Two, bar one or two clubs, we all have small levels of support because we support League Two clubs. If any of us progressed through the leagues, we would gain more fans. See Brentford. See Brighton. See anyone (including us, we averaged more than double what we do now when in the Championship). Fans are fickle mate.

They were loud as well - pound for pound probably the best following we’ve had since coming back up.

They are certainly that. There weren't 7k in the other 3 stands.
It was rather disappointing to see a lot of seats spare in the home areas last Saturday, as we’d sold just over 7000 home tickets and I wanted one originally behind our goal and was informed we were sold out!. I actually questioned this season whether we were doing tickets sold or turnstile clicks as some games 7k home fans were announced and it’s been quite full. Our stand behind the goal was sold out which was just over 3k sold for example, probably 2400/2500 in there looked more accurate. Our crowds are up over the past year though. Probably the weather and the game being televised?…meant a few didn’t turn up who had tickets. We aren’t helped with our 15k capacity at times though, if we ever get as low as 3/4k crowds it wouldn’t look good. Anyway well done on a good following and deserved win.

It’s unreserved seating in the South and lots stand so move to the middle which makes the empty seats, it was sold out

Unreserved seating does mean there will always be spare seats in the south stand and while that is true about people standing, for me it didn’t look quite as full as 3,000, which is roughly the north/south allocations with the unreserved seating reductions . I did notice a couple of grimsby fans said there was only about 5.5k home fans meaning that 1600 season ticket holders never turned up, I personally find that very hard to believe but there is always potential a few hundred don’t attend especially with sky fixtures early kick offs etc, that’s at most clubs not just donny as we know the vast majority of clubs do tickets sold. 9,000 at Grimsby’s ground looks very different than at ours.

Stoking the fire on Notfs away allocation but our 1900 sold out in 30 mins earlier. I assume we won’t get anymore?

Can't get 9k in Blundell Park despite what the official capacity states. Capacity is about 8.5k. Complete league sell outs seem to range from 7.7k to 8k actual attendance. Cup we've had 8.4k
I thought 2.5k in your end and maybe 3.5 max down the sides. A thousand STHs not turning for an early Ko televised game is very typical for most clubs with a few thousand STHs I'd have thought. It certainly is for us and that rises to 1500 or 2k midweek. At grounds with 15k plus STHs midweek televised have several thousand not turning up - Bolton / Huddersfield. It's definitely worse than last season with this TV deal.

That puts things into perspective about how many season ticket holders miss certain games… I always thought it was just a few hundred on average, but what you’re saying makes sense. You can probably sense those numbers better as you go from actual bums on seats. I have a couple of friends who are Bradford fans who were certain they only had 8/10k crowds at games last season such as Salford at home, I always felt that must be exaggerated as would mean about 40% not attending, but maybe it’s not impossible after all. Saturday I did feel there was about 2.5k behind our goal as was more in your end even though I agree with DVR’s point about people standing together etc it seemed less. Probably just over 2k in our west, east stand really about 1200 as for the cup games in EFL trophy when we’ve had 1500/2000 and only opened that stand ,it's more full then. 5.5k did seem too low a number but then again my own calculations might not be to far from that… anyway I’ll stop contradicting myself now, if we all went with bums on seats it would be much less complicated.

If it was all bums on seats EFL wouldn't be able to say the say the TV deal has no impact on attendances and they are booming everywhere.

EFL did say "record numbers bought tickets for the championship" in one of their recent press releases mind.

There's no doubt attendances are up huge numbers compared to the bad times of the mid 80s and good numbers compared to the 70s but may not be the record numbers claimed compared to the 50s when it was turnstile clicks. Sadly they are not up for us compared to the 70s, when we had plenty of terrace capacity (and still had a fishing industry albeit at "war" with the Icelandics).

We've sold out our initial allocation at Newport which is apparently 673. There will be tickets still available on the day.

Fucking great numbers for us considering our away form and the fact we've not even had a shot on target in our last two away games.

I'm going to my second away game of the season, but it's mainly because my sister lives in Newport so am meeting her for lunch first.

Vale saying reckon about half the allocation for Tranmere a week on Saturday will be gone by end of business today. Given an allocation of 2149, won’t be a sellout which it probably would have been due to TV but am making a guess will be about 1700 or thereabouts.
