Sold out the initial allocation now.
Yep and I didn't manage to get one. Even if we get 1200 more as has been suggested I might struggle to get one as I don't know any season ticket holders and don't have a stub from the Carlisle game. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd struggle to get an away ticket for a league game- madness!

Some getting a little stroppy on the Fishy about STH getting 4 per ST.
Conspiracy theory coming. South Yorks plod encourages club to do this, because proper hooligans are less likely to have a ST. There does seem a reluctance at GTFC in letting tickets go on general sale early. Also what happens if someone who got a ticket from a STH misbehaves, can STHs be punished for this, like getting a ban?

Suggest joining the Mariners Trust, although there may not be any left for us either.

Four per ST is a bit much though, isn't it? Two would seem more sensible.

Hmm, an extra 250 provided by DRFC and 950 held back, still not a chance of any going on general sale from the club (as opposed to Ebay) - see conspiracy theory above...

None of those figures add up badly for us. Not surprised we get the least amount of visiting fans, even though it's far from the worst away day experience in the lower leagues.

An away average of well over 300 despite being in a very southern division, no local rivals and being perennially shite is healthy enough. Shows how loyal and patient we are as a group, mind that's probably one reason we've been so crap in recent years.

Pompey have already sold 650 tickets for our game on 10th before they have even hit general sale. Going off that then I would expect anywhere between 1200 - 1500 of em, on a 520 mile round trip that is bloody superb.
I know being Portsmouth it is probably expected that they take loads everywhere but I didn't expect numbers like that for that distance. :hail::hail:

Nah, it's just a matter of scale. They get 3x the home crowds we do and are riding high. If we took 400 to Pompey on a Saturday, it would be classed as average.

Sorry Walkley, but there seems to be a gremlin at work somewhere. I don't have all of my figures to hand to check everything, but regarding Luton's figures, our LOWEST home attendance so far is 7058, so your average of 7045 is a bit off.

Home league attendances so far have been, away support in brackets.
7800 (303)
7058 (115)
8097 (530)
8005 (539)
7917 (554)
7716 (254)
7787 (295)
8008 (102)
8805 (975)

Thought the same for ours. Average is probably just about 16k.

I can't see it being much above 1000. Most of the hardcore away fans are ST holders, and get in there early.

Did the trip once on a Tuesday night in the early 90's for a 1-1 draw. Won't be making it this time unfortunately.

Ahh I didn't realise that, 1000+ for this distance will still be excellent nonetheless.

Corrected the mistakes in the original post, i'd put Pompey attendance in Plymouths by mistake and missed Luton's home figure v Mansfield

Just over 4000 tickets for Donny sold out. incredible!

Gutted I can't make it. If it was a 3pm kick-off I'd have been fine but I usually work until 1pm on a Saturday and with it being so close to Christmas and our busiest time I cant take the morning off and It'd be pretty obvious if I were to throw a sickie.

Fair play to Grimsby for selling 4K at Donny, very good for the 4th tier even if it's a local fixture.

Is there some kind of history between both teams? how come you are taking 80% of your average home support?

You don't take that to Lincoln do you?

We would if we could. We'd get 1800 max for the Lincoln games.

Also, I don't know when the last time we played Donny in a league game was? Don't think it's happened in my time. The new rivalry factor is at play here, I'd be very surprised to see us take 4000 there next season if we're in the same division. I'd love to see us get Hull away in the FA Cup, as I reckon we'do maybe take more than our home average if they'd give it to us.

89/90 was the last time we played them in the league. A nil-nil draw at Belle Vue and we won 2-1 at BP. We have played them twice more recently though. Once away in the League Cup in 03-04 when we has 2 players sent off (Marcel Cas was one, can't remember who the other was) and we lost 3-2 and most recently in the JPT (or whatever it was called at the time) in 07/08, on the most horrendous windy night ever. Donny scored a comedy, wind-assisted own goal when their keeper took a goal kick but the wind blew it back towards the goal, and their defender trying to head the ball back, only headed over the keeper into the net. We won on penalties after a 2 all draw and Donny (who were the holders at the time) had more fans at BP then we did. They filled the whole of the Osmond and had the far part of The Main Stand too.

Yep, that was one of the last games I went to before I went to live in Leeds. The Belle Vue (?) was probably the worst football ground I have been to, including the away days I did in our first season down in the Conference before I moved out of England. Des Hamilton was the other one who got sent off, as we squandered a 2 goal lead (had to look that up haha). Weird though, the BBC article says they equalised on 80 minutes, I remembered that goal being later than that.
