Northampton is a London over spill town isn't it? They were always very quiet when I've seen them at their plaice or Wembley, never seen them away anywhere apart from a cup game at Telford many years ago, think they are all Spurs supporters really.

Think you need to look at a map - it's closer to Birmingham than London. And I wouldn't consider it an overspill for either. Travel time-wise it's like saying Grimsby is an overspill for Sheffield!

While I agree that it wasn't built as a spillover town for London it's definitely within the commuter belt now. You can get to London in under an hour (just) on a direct train whereas you're looking at at change at Donny and more like 1 hour 45 minutes or so from Cleethorpes/GY to Sheff. So you're kind of both right in my opinion.

I don't really go in for the Northampton/Grimsby BEEF stuff (except when Eric Sabin pretends he can't hear us), but there's definitely a little bit of needle about the fixture for some odd reason. Andy Woodman absolutely hating us must have come from that 1997/98 playoff final as otherwise it's completely irrational.

I live in Peterborough and totally agree it is an overspill from the smoke. Full of plastic arsenal and spurs fans. Kings lynn though? Not sure if that is a piss take, but that is a port town with no direct route to london at all.

We're selling out regularly, chasing automatics and the management believe having home fans behind both goals gives more advantage... you can't really blame us for the decision

No, I don't get it, you were the better side at the end of the day and we have had far harder, or more unjust results/teams to get upset about over the years. It has to come from that Wembley game for Woodman though. I live in Bromley and keep up to date with The Ravens, do find it funny how Woody is trying to stir up all of Bromley to consider you as some sort of rival, during the FA cup run he was saying how much he wants to get to round 1 so old rivalries can be renewed!

No, I don't get it, you were the better side at the end of the day and we have had far harder, or more unjust results/teams to get upset about over the years. It has to come from that Wembley game for Woodman though. I live in Bromley and keep up to date with The Ravens, do find it funny how Woody is trying to stir up all of Bromley to consider you as some sort of rival, during the FA cup run he was saying how much he wants to get to round 1 so old rivalries can be renewed!

I didn't realise he'd be going around saying that this season, that's hilarious! I get that he saved a pen in that final and lost and that's hard to take but I genuinely don't really remember too many contentious decisions or us adopting the dark arts or anything. The most memorable thing for me was what an utterly forgettable game it was. Two teams that were probably on par that season, I think all three matches ended up 1-0 to either of us. The only thing I can really think of as a valid explanation is perhaps the Ian Atkins factor. He was quite an abrasive character at times and perhaps Woodman fed off that and has sort of been influenced in some way by his managerial style.

I hadn’t appreciated how many clubs are now declaring tickets sold rather actual attendance. Comparing the number in the stands in the EFL highlights to declared attendances it looks like most clubs in the championship are doing it. Blackpool, QPR, Reading, Swansea and Watford all looked very sparse the other night.
