We've sold out for Chesterfield next week. I'm assuming that Chesterfield must be looking to increase the capacity of the ground? I guess at the time they moved, just over 10k seemed more than enough but with increased attendances, 1k for away supporters is a pretty pitiful offering. I get that the club wants to accommodate as many home supporters as possible but you can't be offering that allowance to some of the clubs in league 1. I presume that expansion is in the long term plans, otherwise you're missing out massively financially as you move up the leagues. I think we offer something like 3,600 for example.
We can extend the North and East stands I believe, as well as South east and North West corners. Doubt we will do it unless we look like making the championship.

Grounds holds about 10200 and we will have 9000+ in there again next week so we are pushing it but not quite selling out every week

That's about 10% of their ground capacity right?

Attendances for clubs such as Chesterfield have indeed moved on due to their recent success in NL. Their away capacity and overall capacity now looks insufficient especially if they hope to progress up the leagues.

I can only assume their stadium was designed to be easily extended if necessary, is that the case?

Ground development announced last November, current capacity is limited pending development, and us season ticket holders are having to be ‘flexible’ post February

I went in the home end when we played there before Christmas. Really liked the club house/bar that's been created and the newish home stand behind the goal. That looks smart. We walked along the front of the home end to the terracing behind the dugouts, which need some serious attention and the other stand behind the goal. I'm guessing a decent stint in the league will see those stands developed?

We’ll only do it when we’re regularly selling out the home end week in week out, & quite rightly too otherwise it’s just a complete waste of money. I very much doubt we’ll be worried about what some ‘big clubs in league 1’ think to our away allocation…

Sounds similar to us - we can fill in the corners and add a tier to one of the side stands to take the capacity up to circa 17,000 I think... nigh on impossible to imagine a world in which that would ever be required though.
