This is my take on Trevor Kettle so be nice! Problem with the guy is there is no middle ground with him - he's either terribly poor or, surprise surprise, actually quite decent. It all depends on which Whistling Kettle you get on the day of the match.

Other refs are generally consistently good (well, good enough for L2 footy at least) or else consistently poor. But there's no such thing for Trev. The man simply loves change! Thing is that when's he's poor he's like really really poor.

I've sadly had to witness Kettle more times than I can mention, he has NEVER been decent. He constantly disrupts play because he appears to think football is not a contact sport.
Then of course he can completely screw a game up with outrageous decisions. My favourite ever kettle moment came at Oldham in 2007 when he decided to send off Gary Richards for putting the ball out for a corner.
Right in front of the away end, Richards tackled Craig Davies, cleanly, out the ball went, Davies went over to spot the ball in the corner only for everyone to turn around in amazement to see Kettle brandishing a red card. Craig Davies even said to him, 'ref he didn't foul me, it's a corner.'

Surely nothing Trevor Kettle-related beats the disallowed half time goal?

Strange obsession VM, many lower than that yet you quote ours ?
Colchester 800 less than Vale and in the play-offs yet no mention.

Not sure on your dislike for us that keeps rearing its' ugly head.

:brill::lac:

Who cares about Colchester? I’ve never even been to their stadium or or ground. The nearest I’ve got is the high st for work reasons. I have no link.

Port Vale are a much bigger club than the teams who got lower attendances. Looked a particularly low attendance in my eyes for PVFC. Maybe I’m wrong?!

But seriously, come on Darren be better. Don’t fall into the trap of shouting “obsessed” when someone posts about your club. It’s poor, weak easy option.

Dislike for your club? Don’t be so precious. The only thing about Port Vale I really dislike is their fans historic behaviour. I've surely made that quite clear. Thankfully nothing has hit the national media yet this season which we should all be pleased about.

Its a Tuesday night on iFollow, the club have been dire for 2 years and its against a club with virtually no away fans.... its as expected surely that, especially as we are in a spell of having 7 home games in 10 I believe.

Just how popular is iFollow at L2 level as well as in general. How many Vale fans do you think were watching the game on it?

I don’t think i’ll ever choose that option but I’m old fashioned

No full time Physio? I would have tought, after the manager, that was one of the most important appointments going. A good physio is woth his weight getting your players fit quickly.

This is Norman Smurthwaite's Port Vale. He doesn't believe in paying for things. I'm led to believe that we have a club doctor and a part-time physio. The physio doesn't have the necessary qualifications to be able to attend to players on the pitch, hence you'll always see him being accompanied when attending to a player by our club doctor. Things get interesting when we go away from home, because the club doctor won't/can't travel. So, and this is my favourite part, we have to ask the home team if their club doctor can enter the pitch with our physio if we get an injury. You couldn't make it up, but it is indicative of how the club is run by the owner. You'd never know he's pocketing 1.9m over 3 seasons from the Jordan Hugill sell on clause (that Micky Adams negotiated with Preston because they refused to deal with Smurthwaite by the way).

The result of this Sunday league mentality is that on Tuesday we bought on Montano at half time, clearly not fit with his knee heavily bandaged, and he limped off 15 mins later, leaving us to play 30 mins at home to MK Dons with 10 men. It's ok though because we're saving £500 per week by not employing a physio.

I read yesterday the physio appointment was close?

I’m very confident in saying most exiles won’t for any club not just Vale. Would love to know some of the numbers signed up for L2 games

Viking Magpie is just a Grade A tool mate, most boring poster in any section of this forum I’ve ever come accross, doesn’t like people posting in other match threads despite him being Mansfield obsessed himself.
Absolute cretin.

That’s great guys, good work

This thread recently shows how dim a few of you are. If you are being accused of being obsessed with so many things, multiple clubs (think it currently stands at 4) , an infamous manager, a couple of players, attendances, Football violence, incredible worldwide travels, that alone makes any suggestion of obsession a complete joke! Anyone with half a brain can work that out.

Like I’ve said before you can’t have it both way. Choose a side.

I have absolutely no doubt fishy you know every section of the onefootballforum, so you are certainly legit, when making that statement. Every single section :shifty:

Do as much name calling as you like (cretin certainly shows someone’s age lol) , if someone talks utter shite, runs their gums continually , lies and makes things up or has an unfunny dig at the old lady of English football, I have no issue in responding and making them look foolish. It’s easy, and certainly a lot easier with some than others. You know who you are :bg:

If you can’t do that on a football forum, then what’s the point. Grow a pair. If you are prepared to give it, you gotta be able to take it. Don’t take it too serious, it’s only lower league football after all.

P.S. Just back from a short but highly enjoyable break in the Costa de la Luz, can highly recommend. I’m almost obsessed with that area.

Glad that you enjoyed some autumnal sunshine.
Though aside from checking out the score if I was abroad I could think of better things to do than come on here

It was lovely Darren, 26-29C and sunny for 4 of the 5 days. No complaints.

Better things to do , such as? Watch the game on iFollow? Lol :dis:

Only pussies block people.

Yes VM is a bit of a knob, but Andy Proctor needs to man up.

Nah, blocking people is ok. I waste enough time on this forum as it is without wasting reading shite from nobhead posters.

That said, I’ve only blocked one since I’ve been on here or TFF.

On to Saturday then as I don't think our fixture deserves it's own thread, the last time anything to do with Cheltenham was interesting in MK was when our squad was banned from the races when Samir Carruthers pissed in a pint glass.

I'm expecting a win here. Our next 4 games are against teams in the bottom 6 and if we want to start pushing on and proving we deserve to be in the promotion mix 10 points is probably a minimum requirement from them.

If you don’t talk shite continually, don’t take Football too seriously, don’t repeat awful ‘dad’ Jokes, aren’t a football nerd , respect the oldest professional club in the world and like worldwide travel. Then yeah I don’t see why not. But be beware a few simpletons whoget their knickers in a twist on a regular basis may turn their attention briefly on yourself.

If not that’s cool, happy as a OFF lone wolf, speaking the truth, calling people out and quoting facts .
