Mansfield have started and finished the first half better but our goal was slightly against the run of play halfway through, great goal by Bishop.

We have had plenty of chances as per usual but bar the goal nobody in our squad can actually shoot at the goal it seems.

Awful game at Oldham so far, hardly anything happened until the last few minutes of the half when Oldham got on top a bit and then Sam Jones gets himself sent off for a combination of awful tackle followed by headbutt. What a shit signing he's been, hopefully won't be seeing him again.

Good point for us after a tough week of travelling. Looking forward to home comforts and the usual win over FGR on Saturday

Massive win. Boy did we need that.

And fully deserved. We were absolutely hideous again, third game in a row at home without a goal. Should have been 4-0 really. Well done Cambridge for the easiest 3 points you'll get in some time!

We still don't really know how to aim the ball towards the net and it feels like we have just papered over the cracks tonight but it's a good three points away at Morecombe who played well.

So in September we pick up 0 points from 5 games conceding 11 goals in the process.

In October we’ve picked up 10 points from 4 games conceding 0 goals in the process.

What the fuck is going on? :eye:

2 up after 13 mins. If we win, this could be the start of our season. If we lose from here, I don’t know if Dunne could recover....

That’s correct, we don’t.
Sounds like a deserved win. We've really lost our way and seem to be showing less and less as the weeks go by.

Brown seems like a decent enough guy but he was somewhat fortunate to get the job full time in the first place and I'm strongly leaning towards a change now.

Simply not good enough.

Well fair play to Northampton who pressed us well and looked like scoring every time they won the ball. But from Macc it was an absolute shambles and makes relegation look like a formality. Sadly this team is just not up to the job.

Good win for us away from home on a Tuesday. Big one against the franchise on Saturday but it’s at home, Would be nice to get back to backs for the first time this season but I’d still take 4 out of the next 2.

Mansfield are the biggest test of the season for us IMO. Only side with an equal defensive record to us and seem a tough side to beat. Will be happy with a draw, but a win will show our promotion credentials.

Just in from Macc, they looked woeful and we blew them away first half. 3 wins from 6 for Curley boy.

We're in big trouble. Even with 11 men we were dreadful, and in the second half we were clinging on from the first minute.

Heard some Oldham fans were still calling for their manager to be sacked because they only beat us 2-0, that's how bad we were.

We've got some talent in this squad, but the confidence is destroyed and the fitness seriously lacking. That's what happens when you bring in free agents after the season has already started. We need a win, any win, to turn things around. Here's hoping Stevenage don't turn up on Saturday.

Huge game for Mansfield this we need to try and record our first back to back wins or we could end up back at square one.

Although we have lost our only game at home we generally play well but like usual have a serious lack of quality in the final third - we have the most shots on target in the entire league but we are lucky to get more than one goal a game.

Pitiful. Absolutely pitiful. Thank God Macclesfield have got one of the relegation spots wrapped up.

The tosspot malaise has now spread from Brown to almost every player, infecting them with an inability to perform the simplest footballing task.

It’s like watching a long, drawn out snuff movie.

I don't know if its a redeeming factor of the team, but the one thing you are guaranteed of is effort. I just cannot put my finger on what is wrong. On paper, we don't have a bad side at all but as a team we are so pitiful. In 3 home games, barely any of the visiting keepers has had anything to do. Given that we have Kaine Woolery, Marc Richards, Keshi Anderson, Jermaine McGlashan as attacking forwards, you have to expect more.

Obviously it’s Brown. If, as most think, we have a fairly decent set of players, the manager is the one responsible for setting them up properly.

Agreed ID. Power won't sack him though so we can only hope Hull take him off our hands and we get compensation.

If Macc do get relegated, which is looking like a possibility at the moment, will they be the first team promoted from The Conference/National League to go straight back down again?

Just had a scroll back through the League Two history and since they started promoting teams from the conference, there hasn't been a single instance of a team getting promoted and then being relegated back down in the very next season.

So Macc could set some unwanted history. Although, I wouldn't say anything is set. We've seen enough great escapes to know that even being cut adrift by February/March isn't fatal. Teams can go on runs and escape at the last minute.

Remember that about promoted sides never going straight down being mentioned when we flirted with being the first last season. January transfers turned us round.

And a trip to your bogey ground on Saturday awaits...
Just the 25 goals you've smashed past us in the last 10 matches, I think. Still, I don't know if we've gone into any game against you during that time on a decent run. After winning last night, I'll gladly take another point given your home record.

It's a win, and i'm delighted we've got the 3 points. The tactic of playing everyone at the back after 70 minutes happened again, which I don't like at all, but after so many failed attempts to hold onto a lead, we were bound to eventually cling on.

It's whether he's learned from his many mistakes or whether it's a flash in the pan. MK at home saturday is a big one for our season, winning that would be big for confidence.

How are you playing though, is it hideous hoofball into corners? Brown was not a bad manager for Southend but whenever a sticky patch came about he would revert to horrible, ugly hoofball. This was ok if we scraped a 1-0 with a Barry Corr header but more often than not it just made the problems worse.
