It's not just Curle, sadly this is what footy has become. It's becoming even more clearer to me that the main objective for managers nowadays is to not get beat when playing away, and then hope for a lucky break like scoring against the run of play. It's happening across all leagues, and off the top of my head, I can only think of Man City, Liverpool, Wolves and Wigan as sides that set up for the away games more or less the same way they do for the home games.
It's one thing setting up sides this way for the away matches, but it's inexcusable when this safety first approach is also employed in home games (cough, cough... Shaun Derry...cough).
