We havent won at scunthorpe since 1973 so I'd take a draw now. We only have 2 of our 4 strikers available to select now with Pope banned and archer injured but it's not a massive problem as we only really play 1 striker at a time unless we are chasing the game.

This stat is slightly harsh on us in that we didn’t play them for 20 years but we’ve had a poor run the past decade or so since! Would be nice to end that run mind.

I’d be tempted to go with Cullen you know.

The Pope thing is stupidity, his tweets are funny and the banter he gives back is often deserved, loved the Xmas party and the theme was shit shirts so whilst most went in random Hawaiian shirts he went in a Stoke top!

He has some very outspoken views and has sailed close to the wind a few times, especially some of the Stevenage comments after their game in April and Stoke bants. Not sure which has got him done though but sounds like he had already been warned.

It will be interesting to see how the club handle it, Askey is a big disciplinarian as we saw with the surprise releases and strict way he dealt with players he considered a problem.

Hopefully it doesn’t see Pope drift out of the squad as he is a legend and one of our own.

Should ban pope from Twitter permanently other players on there have accounts and dont get into trouble.
We still have a poor record at scunthorpe probably played them 10 times I'd say since that 1973 win and not won.

Its social media rather than racial comments... Pope gets into loads of banter with opposing fans and had come off it for a while as he had been warned by the EFL. Ban isn't too big an issue as he isn't currently starting and Cullen is on form but £2600 fine will hurt at this level!
I think we all know what tweet it was. Most of the other drivel he tweets is just regurgitated Piers Morgan sort of shit and he doesn’t get in trouble.

Assume he deleted that one as haven’t seen it. Would be one of your lot that was a grass!

Went a wee bit over the line mind and surprising as even yesterday in his column he spoke of his gratitude for Crewe giving him a chance.

Wouldn't surprise me if we go in for Danny Hylton if Doyle goes back. Linked in the summer and believe he's yet to play a game this season for Luton although I'm unsure if injuries have played a part in that.

Been injured. Wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t get a look in though when he does get himself fit, hasn’t been himself since picking up a hamstring injury in our promotion season from this level.

Our manager also seems to prefer Championship journeymen to players who got us here so I’d suggest he’s yours if you want him (alongside a few others like Lee, Moncur and Berry!)

Even though it doesn’t bother me, being a professional footballer and posting that tells you he’s a absolute fucking drongo.

He believes in bants, he taunts people who give him stick back, was great when we played the lardies in the Checkatrade with the stick and banter and then his goal and Hannant drinking a beer that was chucked at him and maybe footballers should be allowed to give some needle back. It’s part of the game and see his point however he has over stepped the line with that tweet despite it being the kind of needle the fans would respond with Pope is the club captain and needs to think. Fact he deleted quickly after suggests he realised but at that point he’s too late.

Compare it to Legge for instance who using social media to promote his Epilepsy work and the bants he has with the Crewe/Vale game about Gresty being our dance floor and it’s totally different.

It will be interesting to see how the club reacts to this as mentioned. Askey is a disciplinarian and he was pretty ruthless with what he described as the worst behaviour he had seen at any club (rumours float about that but said players are now gone) and the community work and repairing damage done under Smurf this won’t go down well.

Hopefully it gets sorted and this isn’t the way it ends for a legend of this club, he’s only a few goals of cementing that place by adding the post war goal record to his name of the great Martin Foyle.

As soon as he replies and gets into it, they've won. Nobody else, no keyboard warrior tweeted at it cost them £2600.

Idiot.

To be fair he gives the perfect response the first line or two! Leave it there and it’s fine but then goes off on one.

Just begging we don't get any further injuries today. We only have one fit RB, one fit LB, two fit CM's and two fit wingers. Any injuries to our starters today could cause big issues.

No idea how we will fare at Crawley tomorrow. The goals aren't flowing at the moment but our defence is holding up. So probably a 4-4 draw

One win in twelve for Crawley. We keep getting nice comments about how we look good at this rate it will be comments on how we are too good to go down.

Tunnicliffe is top of the challenges won charts ! He must win them and then the defence then passes it to the opposition in the box. I can see us letting in four (be honest, Morecambe could of had four) but I can't see us scoring four. Having four shots on target would be a bonus.

Anything but an Exeter win would shock me.

Plymouth away this afternoon. I’d take a draw. We rarely play well in these types of games - but we are in good form.

Although we’ve won 4 from our last 5 in the league, due to international breaks, postponements and cup competitions, we haven’t played anyone in the league since beating Exeter City 3 weeks ago; no doubt, we’ll have lost some momentum.

We still have a big injury list, but slowly bodies are coming back - and the break has bought them more time, also. Reeves is back, just lacking match fitness. Palmer and McCartan are back training. Long term absentees Devitt, Donaldson Riley and Gibson still no where to be seen - not to forget Tyrel Robinson.

I’d prefer to see us line up in a 442, but I’m sure it’ll be a 433/451.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Adam Henley
CB: Anthony O’connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Harry Pritchard
CM: Callum Cooke
CM: Jake Reeves
LW: Dylan Connolly

ST: Aramide Oteh
ST: James Vaughan

I have a suspicion Reeves will start, but we’ll see. Connolly, for me, looked like he was carrying a knock on Tues, so we could see Zeli Ismael come in.

We’re more than capable of turning Plymouth over, but they’re a strong team, also. As mentioned, I’d be happy with a draw - anything but a defeat.

Scunthorpe are in a false position in my opinion after a poor start. They'll be in the mix come the end of the season.
To me, false position implies they deserve to be higher and you're basing that on past form, not what they've actually done this season. Having a good squad on paper means jack all in reality. They are where they deserve to be and you ask any Scunny fan and they'll tell you the same. You aren't in a false position 18 games in.

For them to get in the mix and get to even 70 points, they'll need 52 points from 28 games. That's going from a 50 point pace to an 85 point pace, providing they start right now. Thats something like a 15-7-6 record. You think they are capable of that, when it's been beyond them for almost half the season? I doubt it very much.

Correct JJ, Scunny are just bad.

On the other hand, hello. We’re back. Should be about 6-0 up here.

Approaching HT 2-0 up. Should be 3. Joel Grant mussed a 1 on 1. Bradford all over the place defensively, still look dangerous on the break

Good game this, Vale led after Scunny wasted an advantage and we broke should of got a second really when Taylor had a great chance but then lost a ball in midfield and they worked a good equaliser.

Monty missed a great early chance and they hit the post all be it tight angle and covered.

We’ve had a few bookings so got to be careful as we could cost ourselves the game.

Scunny seem quite a long ball side on this postage stamp of a pitch so could be some pressure second half.

Yeah we're absolutely not in a false postion. We were awful earlier this season, we are getting better but deserve to be where we are.

Good game so far this. There keeper has made two fantastic saves but it's been pretty even. Big second half.

Had every break going. 2 fortunate deflections for 2 and 3, their player getting sent off for a needless challenge. We've played well, but my god Morecambe are shite. Why set up to defend when you are bad at it?

Williams , r winger for Exeter is bossing this game. We ain't anywhere near him. Except for the two bookings concerned for fouls against him.

Our best chance us if an Exeter player has a rush of blood and gets sent off.

Montano hasn’t tracked his runner again. Good going forward but needs hours and hours of defensive coaching. Amoo has been largely anonymous which is becoming a common theme.

Not a bad game and could go either way second half.

It’s one that could either way certainly. Your winger is rapid on the left.

Problem with playing a winger there I guess.
