At the start of that post, I was expecting the Robbie was going to be taking over...

He was the largest shareholder at one point but the owners:

a) restricted what he could put in
b) then shafted the club, Robbie then handed his shares to the fans to try and help force change...

Gig would boost the coffers though, he may even do it for the club and give us a bigger cut... could transform our budget depending how many it gets licensed for. We had 40k for Motorhead in the 80's for example.

Worrall is 3 games technically but can’t play the leasing game even though he’s not officially banned from that game due to FA rules that it has to be all football activity. So we’ve announced it as 4.
That's not true as Lund is playing for us tonight, he's was a four match but got reduced to a three match

Leasing game is before whereas ours is during the ban period. Had we not got the leasing game Woz would still only miss the FA Cup tie and 2 league games (or replay and 1 league game)

Wozza and Lund both lose their appeal much to the anger of both managers with Scunthorpe's actually suggesting the referee has said things happened that "clearly didnt"

Meanwhile both clubs are being charged by the FA (second time for us after Orient) all very petty, as Askey says if someone grabs a team mate by the throat are you just to stand and watch?
I'd refuse to pay the fine that we will be given. I'd also complain to the fa for every poor decision that the ref makes against us in every game. Just keep doing it and doing it then surely they would soon get fed up of it

Would vale actually make any money out of this as robbie is doing it for charity. Raising money for UNICEF and his give it sum charity I think it is.

Not sure what the agreement is with it being a charity gig, assume things like beer and food sales will go to the club and the parking etc.

This goes well though it opens doors to other concerts and maybe Robbie being back home will see him get his wallet out again and support the club now it’s in the best hands it’s been in since the Bell days.

We have got Westlife and Little Mix. We have not had concerts for years, last was Meatloaf and Rod Stewart (not at the same time!)

Agreed, you should definitely do that. It would really help your season.

It’ll be a couple of grand, they’ve done well out of us this week with Popey too.

God help them if a real scrap kicks off in a match. Snowflakes.

We've got some 80s revival thing this year having had Craig David and Steps in the past two years.

I love my 80s music, and these acts are shite...and I'm sure Heather Small is more famous for her 90s stuff with M People.

Lots of interesting things to consider about the Vale Park Robbie gig. One, the car parking there is non-existent. How do the Vale, local council and plod plan to handle the increased crowds? Because its different ti a club match, when most of the supporters will be local and can walk or take buses in from the surrounding areas.

2nd, which side will the stage point to. Because the views from whichever stand people pay to sit in wont be great. Pillars, low vantage point, a fair distance, away from the pitch. Plus you'll only sell a few thousand of those, with the rest going at ground level on the pitch.

How many people are they hoping for? 18k, which is surely all the ground safety certificate allows? Less?

As already mentioned, it's a charity gig, so the Vale won't take any proceeds from the ticket fees. Catering, security, the mass of logistics in hosting this. Will they even turn a profit? Who's even arranging it, given the lack of experience in the Vale backroom staff of planning a major concert.

Maybe it opens doors for more concerts, but without Robbie doing his boyhood club a huge favour, where is the interest in future events when there is a far superior concert venue a few miles down at the Brittania?

Then there is the knock on effect this will have one next season. The pitch wont get relaid until after this concert is over, so late June. It'll probably might mean no home games in August in order for the pitch to grow and bed in.

I'm hoping the new and inexperienced owners at the Vale have done their homework and properly assessed the costs of this. Because if they get it wrong, itll be a disaster.

We have massive amounts of Car Parking on site, one huge one next door and the car parks on the stadium grounds... my assumption is a Park and Ride will be set up, the council nearly stopped up hosting matches over petty things a couple of years ago so to get this agreed I assume a lot has had to be done.

The stage one will be interesting, it could be in the centre circle to use all stands, it will depend on the type of stage set I guess, it may be simple one, otherwise assume it will be in front of the away end due to the shallow rake and the fact the other three sides are continuous with the disabled stand and family stand in the corners.

Capacity wise, I have asked the question, we had 40,000 for Motorhead in the 80's but don't have the terrace now, we do have an absolutely huge pitch area including surroundings so assume you'd get a good number of pitch, one possible benefit of this is to also shove seats in the Lorne Street unfinished section as you don't need the concourse and am almost certain the new "Robbie Williams Suite" will be opened in time for this now.

Financially we should still make a tidy profit, venue hire, booze, food, sponsorship/advertising, car parking, I can't imagine we've taken it on (Robbie approached the Vale) if the costs are not covered first and foremost.

In terms of the pitch it will have those metal raised platforms on I assume that you get elsewhere, assume the production company deal with all that, plus still 6 weeks until the season starts.

Its a huge thing for the club and the fans are buzzing, in February we expected to lose our EFL status, our owner was on about closing it down and fans were protesting, the ground was falling to pieces and the future looked bleak, in that time Smurf has gone, we have now got arguably the most genuine owners you could hope for and a team that we can get behind, works are on the ground and this is a massive reward to Kevin and Carol and the fans to host this and give us some positive exposure, no one wanted to deal with the club with Smurf (even Peter Ridsdale demanded Adams sorted Hugill deal out!) so the progress has been massive from where we were.

I’m off to Little Mix with my grandad. Whenever we go to away games and they come on the radio, he always sings along. Jokingly a couple years ago I said I’d take him to see them. Can’t miss them at the theatre of greens!

When we had the Monsters of Rock concert, we had to do up the bogs for those ever fussy metalheads. The sound system was the loudest ever in Europe and could be heard several miles away, I am hoping for any music lovers out there it is quieter this time.

I don’t think an event of this magnitude would have been announced without the necessary box ticking from the council (who proper don’t like Vale).

Personally, I like Robbie perhaps not his music massively but he himself is a decent bloke.

"given the lack of experience in the Vale backroom staff of planning a major concert."

Now Chris Eubank knows JJ is trying to achieve a little giggle, add a little spice to proceedings, be a rude boy, a fighter, a maverick.

John Askey isn't booking the fucking warm up act or rigging the lights himself, in the same way the Manchester O2 don't print tickets or sell merch. Vale are just the venue. Everything is done by RWs production company, which given the guy sells out massive stadiums worldwide likely know a thing or two about how to get VP ready.

They should really be booking Adams Park as I hear if Gareth Ainsworth is a dab hand at getting the sound set up right.
