Poor game, but we’ll take the 3 points.

Although anything else would have been a crime, not only did Newport offer nothing at 0-0 they were happy to settle for a 1-0 loss although should have been more if not for 2 great saves by their keeper.

Frustrating afternoon against a very poor Walsall team, but we were even worse. Amazed that their number 11 scored because I'm not sure how he's made it as a footballer. Spent most of the time on his arse and didn't seem to be able to control it or even have basic football skills.

Walsall had a plan to basically nick a goal and stifle our threats which they did well. We never got going and we missed our suspended and injured players.

The referee was spectacularly bad. Just wow. I don't think he got a decision right all afternoon, including the sending off, which was just two players challenging. So so poor, he should be immediately demoted and I think he will be.

It was a 0-0 9 times out of 10 but again for the second time in 2 home league games we’ve switched off at kick off and conceded in 30 seconds, literally a carbon copy of the Carlisle goal.

Walsall were absolutely woeful but came with a plan and as usual we fail to come up with a way against sides who do the dark arts.

Referee was useless but not an excuse for our poor lack of effort, we missed Worralls energy and Joyce massively. Amoo had a shitter, combined with Browne’s illness left us very short of options and the usually energy and pace was missing.

Need to see the Red again but seemed less dangerous than the one on Smith just before when their guy could of done him serious damage.

If you’d said we would go until December before losing at home we’d have taken that but a bit flat it was against one of the poorest sides we’ve faced.

Odd side Newport, the first time we’ve played them in decades but just seem to boot the ball anywhere with possession and just foul foul foul without.

Nothing particularly great about us today but a solid enough showing and we certainly did enough to win. Nice to get a last-gasp winner too, as it feels like we're never on the right end of those.

Highlight of the day was hearing the person behind me in the turnstile queue saying: "These have done really well though apparently, my mate reckons they've been promoted about 10 years in a row".

More pathetic was the racist abuse directed at our right back. There is no place for that and I hope FGR root out the perpetrator and he receives stiff sentencing. That behaviour is not what I expect from FGR, but I don't blame the club, it is an individual's problem.
The behaviour of that idiot is not representative of our club, I share your view about stiff sentencing...the reaction where I was sat was a little less restrained, needless to say if they would not be welcome in our part of the ground.

Sadly racism seems to be on the rise, not just in football, it has just taken a little longer to raise its ugly head where we watch the game...I have had friends and family members racially abused and told to get out of the UK in the last three years (any ideas what might have caused that)...I don't see my long term future in this country any more, when I retire FGR may well lose a regular supporter, unless there is significant change in how we treat minority communities.

Agree, it doesn't reflect on your club. When you have racist abuse at Man City, home of the poster boy of anti-Racism, you know it's a societal problem and not confined to a few clubs.

God forbid anyone else who saw our 1-1 draw with Oldham today - Two poor sides looking low on confidence.

The first 15mins of the second half, both sides decided to put on a great show of who can give the ball away the most and in the most dangerous areas - Which led to our one and only chance in the second half.

Not sure if only playing on Wednesday and most of the team getting only two days rest affected us at all, but we were in the main terrible. Although an encouraging performance from Young Hector Kyprianou in midfield on his league debut.

Oldham edged the game, but i thought they lacked alot of quality up front.

Mansfield are going to fire Dempster and we're going to get the dreaded new manager bounce next week, I can feel it.

God I hope so, absolute embarrassment at the moment.

Along with our own embarrassment yesterday, sounds a bit like someone else in the away end shouted something racist yesterday too. Poor.

Well he says fat bastard.

Clutching at straws to deflect from your own clubs racism, classy as always

We haven't got any fat players.

Cooper's the other side of the pitch.

Thought the lad Clarke who was apparently the target of abuse (and didn't hear it fortunately) had a good game for Scunny.
It's embarrassing and inexcusable but was actually quite pleased with how it was handled in game - the stoppage and the announcement. Expect a lot of shit gets a pass or gets missed in most games. Hope they can follow it up with a ban for the prick.

Yep we handled it well. Totally unacceptable and no one from the club has tried to deflect anything. Still sounds like black bastard to me though. If it wasn't then apologies I need my ears cleaned.

So so true.

Quite a few neanderthals seem to think that it's perfectly fine to racially abuse people 'cos 'we won the referendum man' :ffs:

According to their twitter account in their mid week Paint Pot game against Mansfield, they were passing it around like Barcelona at the back, and their goalkeeper was doing turns like Neymar. Good result today Vale, cherry on top of such an amazing week.
Seem a tad obsessed pal with Vale, yet you lot couldn't even sell out Macc

So on top of checking the Vale and Pope official twitter account you continually comment on Vale threads on here too , remarkable really .
I should concentrate on chasing Swindon for the title instead of worrying about a mid table team.

Greenacres - shame to hear about the racial abuse that you have witnessed. Not sure if it is on the increase, it's always been pretty bad. I have been racially abused several times during my travels around the world. My wife has been racially abused in England (she is non Caucasian) and both of us have been discriminated against by the government as a matter of UK policy.

As far as not seeing your long term future in UK anymore, I can only say that I understand. I left the UK years ago and settled in my wife's home country, where I became a citizen. I've left the UK behind. I can recommend you to leave the UK as soon as you can. Don't wait for retirement if at all possible.

FGR doesn't have to lose you as a supporter, you can support them from afar. The iFollow thingy is great and you could always get back on occasion to watch them. I support Scunny from a long way away and they will never lose me as a supporter. I have always tried to get back to watch them when I can. You can do it too.

Best of luck to all L2 fans who have been affected by abuse or discrimination.

Not sure where to post this but Crawley have sacked their operations officer and holder of the safety certificate, Kelley Derham. No reason given but it was, apparently done via e-mail ( classy) and the statement released by the club mentioned financial difficulties!

In other news Yems' first home game in Saturday against Port Vale. Last Saturday in his first game we managed the first clean sheet since September 14th. Feel we may have to do so again to get anything from the game.

We play as bad as we did Saturday against an awful Walsall you might! That said we've got a few players back for this in Joyce from suspension and Browne who was ill so should help.

Strange one Crawley for us... we've got an 80% win record at this stadium (actually higher % if you include the friendly opening place!) which considering in recent years we've been pants away is pretty remarkable... the one we did lose was because we had MacDonald sent off when winning!

We have won 4 of our last 5 away games to break a hoodoo going back since March so fingers crossed we can get back on track and thoughts of Man City are put on the backburner.
