The second one he should've saved, just watched it back and it went under him

Third he spills but then seems to have two hands on it before it gets kicked out, might have been a foul but should have never spilled it in the first place
In light of what you said I watched it again, and this time focused on the ‘keeper. Yes it could have been saved by a top level keeper, but not so sure at our level. For the third would need a different angle to see if boot makes contact with two hands or not.

However, I do see your point about the ‘keeper. Though based only on the highlights and the radio it seemed like your bigger problem was at the other end - like us last week you did not take your chances.

If a neutral had watched the Crawley v FGR game they would have had a pleasant afternoon. Two teams giving it a go but not particularly very good helped by a ref who also was not particularly very good.

A fan of either team will be spiting tacks that their team could not show that little bit of extra class to actually win the game.

From my point of view Crawley had three really presentable chances in the second had and didn't have a shot with any of them !

Personally, unless help is recruited, we will be playing this game again next season.

Thought you looked tidy in midfield and were robust without being dirty, also looking to get forward but as you say, like us, short a bit of quality.

A nice and comfortable 3-0 win for the Robins today against a poor Oldham team.

Only downside was Scott Flinders going off with a suspected broken leg. He's been fantastic for us since coming in as a free agent in Sept 2017. Hopefully it's not as bad as first feared but the ear;y signs are not good.

On that epically wank performance, Grimsby deserve to be winning at sides like mansfield.

Absolutely shambolic, embarrassed to be associated with that. I can’t even put that into words.

Didn’t some of the money from the sale of the white telephones go into the ground? Or have the numbskulls in my head made that up.

When KCOM as it is now called was privatised the City Council used part of their windfall to build the KC Stadium for Hull City and the Humbugs.

Then it was signed over to the Stadium management company headed by Aseem Allam, which is bad for City in that it increases the price he wants to sell at but good for the Humbugs as he can continue to screw them over.

Incredible performance from us to limit Mansfield to so few chances with 10 men. I actually thought at 1-0 that we looked more likely to score again than Mansfield equalise, although it then needed a fantastic save from McKeown right at the end to preserve it. Atmosphere second half was right up there in my top few away games especially after we got the goal.
And finally a word for the referee who in my opinion is the worst I’ve ever seen in nearly 30 years following us, and I’m not talking about the red card as that was 100% correct, but every decision he had to make went Mansfield’s way, complete homer.

Conrad Logan looks like a fat bastard, but he's still a pretty damn good keeper.

Sorry, I’m going on......all I’m saying is, there’s more to it than just looking at the cost of tickets and the outer-borough populations.
Good reasoning Firthy. If you remember, Vale tried it and sadly didn't get the response. A real shame for then other clubs may have followed. Nothing wrong with making a brand affordable especially if it brings youngsters on board.

Yeah to be fair Mal Benning’s finish was so clinical the fat fuck had no chance.

One of the better finishes by any Mansfield player this season

Good win that, 10 men for 80 mins, and Mansfield were poor, we defended well and restricted them to long range shots all second half.

Don't agree with the Ogbu substitution, he was holding the ball up well, as soon as he went off Mansfield had all the ball. Clifton was excellent though, his best game this season and more like he played last year. Played several postions and apart from his wasted shot when he was through at 0-0 didn't put a foot wrong.

Can see why stags only have 2 wins at home all season though, they didn't do much especially in second half when they had all of the ball. Topped off by a great finish from Benning.

Ogbu spends far too much time on his arse and moaning at the ref. Plus the only two decent crosses we got in in the first half Ogbu was no where to be seen.

Although the ball didn't run kindly all the time for him we were more of a threat when Rose came on.

I would agree we had more threat after he went off, but when he was on we had far more of the ball, as soon as he went off, Mansfield had so much more possession because there was no one holding the ball up top anymore.

Luckily Mansfield were poor and did nothing with it but anyone else and we were just inviting pressure once Ogbu went off. He did have a decent game and was drawing fouls from their back line which didn't happen with Rose.

I said on one of the threads earlier that we need an experienced keeper in January as a top priority. I stand by that remark, even though the manager may think differently. Would have had a point v Plymouth with a proper keeper in there. Both Eastwood and Watson are dodgy and have been since we have had them.

Most disappointed with Hurst, who replaced McAtee with Lund and brought in the ineffectual Sutton into midfield. Shocking decision and IMO cost us possibly the game. McAtee, Ward and Van Veen sharing the 90 mins in the link role would have kept our proper shape. I have been hoping Hurst can step up to the plate, but I am afraid his man-management and tactical skills are not good enough and I would be happy to see him go. We have to do better than him, if we are to get back to where we were. Unfortunately, it ain't gonna happen and we are stuck with him. Hopefully, we can stutter along and retain a mid-table position.

Meh game, Crawley looked decent, quite a physical side bullied us a bit especially first half. Second was better but we are toothless af and it took a cracking diving header og from their motm (lol) to show us how it's done. Jevani Brown looked good on the ball, got himself in space and slid some nice through balls, but then limped off.

The good news is our new superstar striker from Leamington is signing tomorrow and he's gonna set this league on fire. Probably.

Odd really as I thought FGR were getting the rub of the green from the ref and both sides were pushing it a bit.

In that regard Palmer doesn't help us by screaming for fouls that obviously ain't.

That was embarrassing yesterday, it was a fantastic result for Grimsby, not a great performance but if you win away from home with 10 men for most of it who cares? We basically lost due to a lack of effort, despite Grimsby clearly being a poor side like ourselves they actually played with a bit of passion in that second half and ran around a lot, it took a own goal to win it but I think they deserved it still.

There were absolute no movement whatsoever, although Maynard should have won the game with that 1v1. We need a major clear out, the manager has got to be brutal on these bunch of jobsworths, I never want to see Bishop play again either, he can go to County or something.

Side note I think our home crowds deserve praise, considering how poor we have been all season.

That's really interesting to read as he was clearly one of your players of the season last season. This season appears the worst of a bad bunch!

So what's happened? Either his legs have gone as he's getting on a bit on now and that is a big part of his game? Or his enthusiasm has gone and like many others isn't putting the effort in for the manager or former manager?#mealticket

I hope it's the former not the latter.

Oh and we don't want him, we've already got a veteran midfielder who is one of the fans boo boys. Plus we had Bish at or around his peak remember? Not when it's approaching retirement and seeking one last pay day. But cheers for the offer Conks

The referee was so incompetent I still half expected him to find some reason to disallow it.

He wasn’t the best all round in honesty, whereas he certainly gave a few soft decisions our way in general he was poor and there was no argument over the red it was a stupid challenge.

Guess we’ve both won at each other’s places with 10 men this season!

Still don’t want to talk about that performance on us though, astonishing - it was like being in the conference again!

I think 4,400 home fans given the absolute dross we’ve had served up this season at field mill is a great effort - I dare say not that many will turn up next week against FG.

Such a sorry performance though. The movement was so slow, laboured and predictable we still wouldn’t have scored now.

There is much work to be done let’s say.

Like I say we need a clear out, Bishop can go to County, in the right pairing he can still do it down there, Macca needs moving on desperately too. Midfield is our main problem.

Oh yeah, completely agree about those 2 - bish could still do a job at that level for sure, he’s just not the legs for league football anymore, som team with less ability/quality like chesterfield or county would be ideal or him for half a season - though in bishops defence GC shouldn’t have played him in the first place given the Cambridge game a few days before

As for macca, if you were there and saw him going mental at the fans that’s was us guilty as charged - coming over clapping giving the thumbs up after that. He’s a total fraud of a football player. “He puts in the effort” is all you hear, well that’s nice - id put in all the effort I had to beat usain bolt in a race - doesn’t mean I’ll win or be any good at it. Tomlinson needs someone beside him or advice on the pitch to allow him to thrive - he’s going in the wrong direction also.

Mellis put in a good performance at Cambridge - but as I said on the way back - “that’ll be his good performance for the month” not reliable at all.

Someone in on loan, maybe 2 - with the view to a move - would remedy the situation until the summer when we can start again. This season is already over.

I just thought you looked stronger in the 50-50s, we are a bit lightweight by comparison.
