Oh wow, so the hippy free for all is actually a facist regime?

Worked for Richard Branson!!
Don't knock it - else DV will be moving your new stadium to Necker Island and renaming the club Virgin Green Vegans.

I agree with Chris on the FGR situation but with the caveat that the club were forced to intervene because everything was getting out of hand.
FGR has a 129-year history in the hamlet of Forest Green and almost immediately after chairman won planning permission to build club at another site those opposed to move mounted a high profile disruptive campaign.
That is the root cause of trouble at TNL.

Admittedly, we're talking about middle class fans of a football club in the Cotswolds...but it's still a form of oppression what the authorities at your club are doing.

Another example in the long litany of middle class white people being the victims of oppression. I blame the EU. Can’t wait to move to Spain now the libtard remoaners have ruined are country!

Surely the root cause is the club moving after 129 years - if they stay there's no disruption.

Yes and no.
The current home cannot cope with huge crowds: the main road is blocked for an hour after match, power to the stadium is inadequate & FGR must bus in water tankers.
There is no room for expansion.
And yes it is a great shame to lose FGR's historic home. But those living in Nailsworth can transfer their allegiance to Shortwood which is only a mile away.
It is a case of damned if we move or damned if we don't.

How big a water tank can you get on a bus?
I`ve struggled with a suitcase before now.

Historic home, what are you on about. You've only been there 10 years!

To be fair - they only moved 100 yards further up the hill last time.

Although, to quote a Cheltenham fan on Twitter when planning permission was obtained a few weeks ago:

"A new home with 1,500 car parking spaces, a fitting third stadium in 13 years for the world’s greenest club who already train 25 miles down the road. But those bamboo shinpads

So the wooden ground is by Junction 13 on the M5, it's miles from anywhere with a population (or railway station), it's a joke.

I've been reliably informed on here that they will be getting fans from Tewkesbury down to North Bristol once they move - so sod the fans in Nailsworth, they've got all of Gloucestershire to nail down.

They won't - Vince is going nowhere whilst they're still a useful advertising tool, and with the Eco-Park getting started that will be for some time yet.

Rubbish and Dustbins thought that Max Griggs was going nowhere as well...

Griggs achieved what he set out to do at Rushden. He got League football to a tiny club that he, basically, founded. Whilst Dr Martens was all over the shop at Rushden, his company advertising wasn’t the main purpose of him running the club. I also, and I may have this wrong, believe that it was pressure from his family that made him step down in the end.

The difference with Vince is that, as much as I tout the club as a marketing tool for Ecotricity, they’re also a marketing tool for his belief in veganism. It’s a protest and FGR are perfect for that. Look at how often the national news are at The New Lawn. That he, and other board members, fall out with boards at other clubs and accuses them of being outdated gets him onto the BBC sport website is a positive for him, regardless of how he comes across. It’s that old saying, no publicity is bad publicity.

As long as FGR are useful to him, he’s going to be sticking around. The only things that will change that are, 1. His new stadium gets debunked on appeal, or 2. He runs out of money (I’m sure I’ve read elsewhere that Ecotricity are reliant on a lot of EU subsidies, but I won’t pretend I know much about that).

To be fair - they only moved 100 yards further up the hill last time.

And took half our old ground with us. South Stand used to be the Trevor Horsley Stand and North was the old Barnfield terrace. Was just about the perfect move if you want to maintain identity/roots staying in Forest Green whilst improving the facilities. A bit like Spurs new stadium in some ways.

It's tough to make it fit for purpose at this level though, even if more could be done if Vince wasn't so set on moving.

It's actually not far from Eastington or Stonehouse. Easy bus from Stroud station too. Plus around 2000 homes going up right near the site.

Still doesn't seem right though, it's not where we're from. Leaving 130 years of history in Forest Green, with little or no sporting legacy left behind would be gut wrenching.

Just seen on Twitter: ‘Port Vale player banned for comparing fan to Sloth from the Goonies’ and without even clicking on it my sixth sense tells me I already know who it is.

If I didn’t already know what a genuine shit for brains Pope is, I’d think it was a clever ploy to forge a career after he retires as some poor man’s, anti-semitic Robbie Savage.

Hashtag bants.

Sloth was more intelligent then Pope is tbf, so it was probably meant as a compliment.

Still could get another 5 games on top of that for that Rothschild stuff. Imagine getting a 6 game ban just for chatting shit on twitter. Idiot.

7 as he already had 1 ban.

Totally over the top on this ban though, a bloke threatened to break his legs on twitter and was being mouthy and he just said he looked like Sloth... hardly worth a ban and four figure fine that!

This tweet was before the Rothchilds one... we assumed this ban was for that at first to be honest, seem to be coming down hard on him after the previous ban for the Crewe comment and the fine for the Caroline Radford one, the Crewe one in particular was pure stupidity.

The bloke's stupidity could cost you promotion. Quality player but I'd be fuming if I were Askey.
