The Authorities won't allow us to open our ground or training ground it seems, due to the outbreak in the playing squad. Our owner seems to think we initially caught it at one of our away games, so either Forest Green Rovers or Oldham - Probably from the hotel the players stayed at.

Rumours that the EFL want it played and hopefully done next week, but I think thats unlikely.

I can't see us playing again until the middle of October. Our game at Walsall Saturday will almost certainly be off as well.

We're working with the EFL and the health authorities at the moment to try and ease the problem it seems.

Infection rates much lower in Glos then they've got up in Lancs, reckon your lot probably caught it then.

whoooa today i was not having a pop at Exeter quite the opposite i was saying you had enough money to survive.
Others are less fortunate than you.
The hardest hit will be championship teams who have no parachute payments.
Some will have a £20m plus wage bill with no incoming income this side of christmas.

We’ve said we should be ok to carry on financially this season and are looking at other revenue streams, we have a huge dining facility used on a match day for instance for box holders, suite holders etc so are looking to open it up as a standard restaurant facility.

It’s going to need clubs to be inventive, apparently our box season ticket holders still get a meal with their IFollow pass which is delivered.

We are lucky though as we have excellent facilities in the Lorne Street plus the Vale social which I assume we will try and utilise. Not all clubs have that certainly at this level so some support packages will need to be in place. The problem is outsiders just see Prem clubs paying £300k a week and £100 million on players and don’t get the situation at L1 and 2 levels and below so support for chucking government funds at clubs is maybe lost on the main public.

Jeez, that’s way too low. Even with your low ticket prices you must be taking £120,000 per home game. That’s a loss of £2.5m in income on its own.

Look at the quality of the players going out and the players coming in though. Look at the destinations of the outgoings and the clubs that those coming in have come from. The players you retained are on significantly reduced terms too? Last I read Palios was asking them to take a 10% pay cut for May, June and July and that was it.

I sort of got a vibe of ‘Vale will be okay because we have excellent facilities to open new revenue streams’ It’s not even going to be anything remotely close to what you would take in gate money this season, no matter the quality of facilities; although they’ve gotta at least try.

If by ‘ok’ you mean the owners will fill the big gap in finances then that’s great, a lot of clubs not have that option, but every club at this level realistically needs some sort of financial aid.

We also got a quarter of a million for Micky Mellon heading to Dundee United so immediately there’s over half a million we’ve got covered which is a substantial amount in the current environment (Effectively reduces the wage bill from 2mil to 1.5mil already in terms of funds needed)

Theyve said we will be financially ok, the other streams are to try and cover some of the losses but assume possibly still got a bit of the Man City cash left.

It won’t cover the losses although the season ticket sales were good and with the kits have had a good income from those. I’d say based on the ST sales we’ve probably lost on away fans and pay on the day around 500-1000 fans, let’s say taking into account kids average around £15 per head it is likely to be up to around 15k a game which is a sizeable sum (plus food/programmes)

ifollow looking at other clubs stats excluding ST holders seems nominal in terms of financial return, guess most of the better supported clubs will benefit more from their away games once the home team gets its 500 cut.

I’d image a club like ours will lose around 350k-£400k of expected revenue if no games with fans the season.

anyone signed before the vote on the salary cap counts as the league average for cap purposes - even though they cost more. most of Bolton's big earners were signed early so their wage bill will probably be around £2million - but only count as £1.5
