For the past few years there has been much heat generated towards Gloucestershire's local derby ElGlosico, but of late it seems to have dissipated.
Cheltenham were unfortunate to have a Chairman and manager who would stir their own fans against FGR. But they have both left and a more sensible attitude has been adopted.
I've listened to both managers who have been complimentary towards each other and their team. They referred to each other by their first name.
Dale Vince did not say anything amiss when interviewed on his match prediction.
Of course both sets of fans want to win the game but there is not so much nastiness anymore.
I welcome this change of attitude because the county is too small to have this infighting. Leave it to the teams from Lancashire [Greater Manchester].

You're right ElGlosico is a Gloucestershire local game or as most others call it a derby game.
I'm happy to call it a derby game, especially as neither teams will meet Gloucester this season.

Tbf it isn't just FGR Stroud, the local media, your clubs official media outlets, plus your manager, players and a large number of your fans are calling it derby day,

Personally I don't care what people call it, it's another game and another 3 points. There is an extra bit of banter with my Cheltenham mates at stake, but that's about it.

A derby to me is a game played between two teams from the same city or town. If its against a city or a town nearby it is simply a local game.

Anyone's capable of beating anyone at this level. Most teams can be half decent on their day and everyones got an absolutely shite performance in their locker. The teams that put in shite performances least often are the ones that win the league and such.

Have you noticed just how satisfying it is to be able to watch a load of live football games and there not be any VAR at all.

It shows how disruptive it has been to the leagues and competitions that do use it, so hopefully it never comes down to the lower leagues!
