Seven stars in Alphington
Named after each and every famous player in Exeters 120 year old History
Used to be known as 6 stars but added Ollie Watkins !!

Even paid for new signs outside the pub with some of the sell on money..

Our squad is also decimated with injuries. We only have one attacking player available to face port vale on Saturday and that is Lewis Alessandra. All of our wide players are out injured, one of our strikers Kayode is on international duty and the other Reilly is out injured.

Think on Saturday I’d be tempted to play a back 7 with 3 midfielders in front and just hope for the best.
Alessandra has scored a few goals against vale in the past for other clubs.

Yeah that was the pits, but the shite nu-metal of "Jerusalem" that is "supposed to be" the club anthem (even if, with stunning originality, "Sweet Caroline" appears to have replaced it in practice) is barely any better, and as for trying to get people to call the club "the Green Devils"....

I think DV's detachment or semi-detachment from a lot of trad football culture has pros and cons (and probably more pros overall) , but occasionally he completely misses the mark. And that's before we get into the trying to attract Eco-friendly fans internationally while ignoring the concerns of some of the existing ones....

Jerusalem is a real favourite for some reason, I've got used to it even though it's hardly a rousing football anthem.

The funny thing with the whole Green Devils bollocks was that was introduced not long after ditching our old badge due to it being 'too similar to Barcelona's' only to then adopt a nickname and mascot that was clearly a cheap rip off of Man Utd.

Not that anyone I know actually uses that name though, it's still Rovers to everyone.

The blokes an idiot who I've finally learnt to just ignore.. All of Bolton's "stars" are pinched off other teams. They can't produce any.

Reminds me of their best ever player, Dick Pym, who they stole from a little old club in Devon. May have been Exeter City?

Giving you way to much credit..You will have to rename the pub 2 stars after Dick Pym, and Cliff Bastin
They are the only two who left Exeter to go on to win Major Honours and be Capped for England.
I keep hearing of home grown talent but thats terrible

Think yourself lucky. Crawley are lumbered with the nickname "The Red Devils". Most of the fans just call us "The Reds".

I always thought it was a stupid rip off of Man Utd but I've been told that its been our nickname since 1896 or some such.....can't see it myself.

As for anthems I think ours is 'A Kind Of Hush'

Well for Crawley, "Red Devil" I suppose could be a reference to Steve Evans,, either if he's been running or is just angry...

At least Crawley are only ripping off one team, and FGR doing the same.

There must be a million teams called The Robins. I wish we'd kept our deep red kit of the 11/12 125th anniversary season and reverted to our original nickname of The Rubies. That would have at least been original.

Just had a look to see if Cardiff or Barrow were called 'Bluebirds' first - it was them by about 60 years, but their nickname came from a popular Belgian play while ours comes indirectly from a land speed world record-breaking car, so I think we win.

not sure how much that will affect Carlisle - but it can't be good.
Fuck knows because nobody quite knows how where we end and they begin. They pay for David Holdsworth's job so that's one thing at risk. I don't know what happens though if a loan is secured against your assets and then the company who loaned you the money goes bust. Presumably the risk is that debt gets bought by someone who is a lot less flexible about when to call it in, though I'd imagine when one company loans an other money, the terms of the deal are all written down and can't just be torn up if the loan is acquired by someone else.

EWM's shiny new headquarters have been shuttered up since the pandemic first hit.

An hour's listen to RC suggests that might not be a bad thing!

There's an article in today's Daily Mirror discussing what life is like for clubs at this level during the covid crisis. It's at Crawley but a lot of the issues raised are directly relevant to all the other clubs here.

Nothing we hadn't thought about amongst ourselves but to see them written down in a national newspaper is a welcome development.

On a Crawley note, I'm surprised about the number of season ticket holders mentioned. Seems too few to me.

The offer to season ticket holders is almost cut and paste from what we announced the day before. Not difficult.

The season ticket reduction next season is just one of a number of incentives being offered.
Well done to your owners for offering you at least that.
