What is it with smaller clubs spending a fortune to get to this level but then seemingly never improving their organisation skills?

Harrogate was a shambles on saturday, I know a number of our supporter clubs couldn't get in touch with Harrogate at all for any information on coach parking or anything. Loads of our fans booked to collect tickets at the ground, were told they weren't any to pick up when they got to the away ticket office. The FGR/Swindon debacle is the same and Salford are notoriously terrible as well.

Has anyone had a positive word to say after a game at Harrogate, it's always been a fucking disaster whenever we've played them. Like Salford these tinpot clubs only give a shit about on the pitch and neglect everything else.

I think that's a far more valid criticism of the role of DV's ego, he doesn't see what a football club is/should be in anything like the traditional way so he will do things like worry more about the mowbot than ticket line staffing or the joke away facilities. By the same token he's not out to asset strip like some traditional shits but could land us belly up all the same trying to make a small club something it's not.

I'm surprised there is no mention of Crawley and the little clubs making a mess out of the organisational side of things.

Tempt fate: We must be doing OK.

Casey

Ps, when the small clubs cock up its because we are tinpot. When the bigger clubs cock up it's a one off and when the biggest clubs cock up we should be thankful we're allowed anywhere near the ground in the first place.

But it seems only the smaller, new to league football, clubs that struggle organisationally. Maybe they’re still geared up for away followings of 50 odd.

Never had any issues on the couple of trips to Crawley but the ground is relatively ok, same with Fleetwood who invested in the infrastructure to go with the rise.

Salford was slaughtered by our fans and for example our first visit to Burton saw our fans literally stood around the goal as the terrace overflowed so can take time to iron out and improve.

Salford seem to have spent spent spent on promotions but not gone and measured the facility improvements at the same time.

Cardinal sin from FGR, though. They oversold tickets.

Surely you haven't forgotten that time in League One when you had a load of consecutive games called off because it rained and the forum was all abuzz with tinpot related banter.

Out of interest how did you find the experience at Gander Green Lane on Saturday? Our ground is still very much a lower conference/upper conference south standard ground, with all the tinpotness that enshrines

What I've noticed at a few clubs is that they don't seem to have the parking space. For example I went Swindon the other week with vale we took 2 coaches and it was hard work finding space to park them. That made me think how did they get on in the prem when teams brought 30 or 40 coaches. Places like Grimsby as well hard to park your coaches up there as well. At vale you have space park 30 or 40 coaches if needs be. Bradford park you up on midland road which is ok and has plenty of space and Stevenage has that Cark park across the dual carriageway where you could park quite a few coaches but some of these grounds struggle accomadate 2 coaches.

A lot of grounds were built before most people had cars...

Don't think Swindon would have been especially out of step in the Prem. Highbury had no parking at all for fans/coaches etc and some of the big old grounds like Goodison have very little.

Plus it was cheap by L2 standards to get in. Minus they seemed to struggle dealing with our support, when Bradford come they must panic to ****...

Our fans having trouble with their Stewards made me think of Newport. Great day out but Basic ground and going in Steward "what's that in your back pocket it's a bottle!" er, it's a programme. Same bloke seemed to be working the doors in a Cardiff pub last week, asked me the same question...

These Harrogate stories don't suprise me, when we first went there in 2018 in the NL it was 1st v 2nd and we took around 700 fans - They decided to keep the game unsegregated...............this lead to fights at half time in their bar, a few disturbances in the crowd and our fans standing behind the home dugout giving Simon Weaver a load of stick because his team started going down easily and diving once they was 2-0 down and he turned around and bit which made him get even more stick.

I always thought at the time, if a fanbase more well known for causing trouble went that day with 700 fans, it could've been even worse. As we walked out after a 3-0 win there was clearly tension and the police made everyone exit in certain directions.

They clearly don't have a clue what they're doing there.

And speaking of meat and animal based diets, I suggest you chaps better get used to a veggie diet now 'cos I'm afraid it won't be that long before eating meat will be frowned upon. There's really no alternative if we're to save the planet for future generations. It's going to be just like the whole smoking thing - I do like a fag now and then but every time I light up people look at me like I'm Jihadi John.
Haha, haha, haha. Comedic post of the year award, Vanni. I've done a Jordan Peterson diet in the last 12 or so months and it's the best thing I've ever done for my mental health and physical health. Although I do cheat and occasionally have ketchup, salt and pepper.

Bullshit. No one can only eat beef all the time. What do you eat at Nandos?
