Most of the fans can’t see that though buying season tickets for next year. You may as well burn £240.

Bring on Newco SUFC and derbies with Crowle and Brigg Seconds.
A few years ago I was talking with some fans of Lincoln and they were as pessimistic as the Scunthorpe fans are today.
Now look where Lincoln are in the EFL.
Be positive, everything will come good in a few years.

Lincoln is four times the size of Scunthorpe, we don't have the potential to grow like they did

Interesting article in the Gaurdian about our ex manager, Gabrielle Cioffi. Nice to see he still has fond memories of West Sussex as he takes on the might of Seia a.

Decent man. I'm not sure what went wrong here...maybe expectations were too high.

Not sure if it should go in here or the management thread but our stand in assistant manager Adam Murray now gone to Besiktas as their assistant with Ismael. Very grateful to him for stepping in and helping Andy Crosby during this time. Whether we replace him with anyone else or if Dean Whitehead just steps up we’ll see. Obviously all of that becomes moot if DC were to return this season (I don’t think he will).

Guys nuts! Choosing the Bosphorus over Boslem!

Thankful for his help and hopefully Crosby can take something from it. Assume we will plod through to the end now and see what the DC situation long term is in the summer, have a bad feeling we may not see him back with us at all, but if that turned out the case it’s understandable.

I’m not saying I think this will happen but IF DC were to return this season the ones I’ve earmarked are we’ve got Bristol Rovers on Easter Monday then Walsall at the Bescot the Saturday after. That shit would just write itself especially after the first game with Walsall at VP, we owe them one big-time for that.

Interesting to see, the club seems to be fighting for DC at the moment and we know he’s told them in his absence to Believe etc which they are using.

DC has a knack of late runs to get promoted doesn’t he? He mentioned a crap start at Rovers then went on to rattle up 89 points.
Have to see… if he doesn’t return it would be interesting to see where we go from there. Hopefully even if he doesn’t manage again this season he is able to attend a home game so we can show our love, still great like yesterday and against Mansfield to hear the crowd booming out “Darrell Clarkes black and white army!”

Besiktas is a great move and step up, saw them v Fenerbahce and the atmosphere was incredible. Quite fun seeing lower league players or staff going to clubs in random countries.

That would be very much on my to do list. Just from clips have seen they make an atmosphere like nowhere else. Been the Rome derby before and that was pretty amazing but pales into insignificance compared to Istanbul. All the best to Murray though, it’s an incredible opportunity. Something I’ve always thought more English coaches should try to broaden their horizons.

Just to add from our win on Saturday we’ve now got our stat back as being the only club to beat everyone else in the 92. Main reason I’ve mentioned it is the club tweeted it as below and the amount of Premier League fans getting really triggered by it is astounding. Comments like “Port Vale have never been in the Premier League” as though football didn’t exist pre 92. Anyway rant over.

I thought a team beat Arsenal in 1901, but went bust in 1907 and started up again by changing their name from Burslem Port Vale to just Port Vale. Same club my arse.

That’ll only last until we beat Harrogate in a couple of weeks!

I only found out recently that their crowd is made up of people on freebie tickets cos they work (or are mates of people who work) at TalkTalk, one of their main sponsors. I reckon they probably get almost zero paying customers.

It’s an absolute bastard to get to and is in the middle of nowhere

The fact that only just over 20 teams have played Sutton Utd narrowed it down to perhaps Swindon,Bradford Vale and Oldham

Aye, going to our game there on Easter Monday with some mates who live in Manchester. Our train gets us to Piccadilly, then apparently a tram from there can only get you to within half an hour's walk of the ground. Not so bad if you're stopping in a couple of pubs en route but a pain all the same.

I found it easier and quicker to get a bus from the centre of Manchester (Shudehill) to somewhere by the east end of Moor Lane - maybe a five minute walk from the ground. Pubs nearby though? None. Still, Rochdale's and Oldham's grounds are more a pain in the arse to get to, even though they are at least "proper", historic teams with a community and fan base....

I didn't think Rochdale was too bad, albeit we were on the supporter's bus where we stopped at a pub in the centre and then got ferried off directly to the ground.

tbh if there’s enough of you (there were 5 of us in manchester before we went upto oldham) we just got an uber xl which was £21, and £22 on the way back, yeah it was £8 but the tram would have been £4 anyway and it took 20 mins instead of about an hour via narnia to get to oldham.

I’d be doing the same if was going to salford from the middle of manchester.

Well done to Port Vale for achieving this.

“Port Vale are the ONLY club in the top four divisions to have beaten all other 91 clubs in a league game”

Obviously helps they have played all 91 other EFL teams !

Rumours on our fans forum that Crawley are for sale/being sold.

A lot of chasing each others rumour and no hard facts but I had heard the rumour too but I've got to say that I have no idea why anyone would want to own a club whose highest level would be one season in the Championship and play in a council owned ground.

Our Chairman has stepped down with immediate effect.

While this is incredible, I am not sure what that means for the current future of the club

Desperately trying to get more fans in for the next home game, Mansfield will outnumber us.

If any Stags fans want to go can get tickets

And us, lest you forget we were almost good 50 years ago. We’re on 89, I believe (not beaten Fleetwood; not played Burton or Man City).

We actually did it Easter Monday last season but then had to beat Sutton as they came up last season.

It’s a nice little stat that we’ve beaten everyone but nothing more than that really. Obviously we’ve spent over a century milling about between the three divisions under the top flight so had the chance to play them all.

Without checking, I would guess we have beaten everyone except Sutton, hopefully achieve that next month

Just had a quick look at Stagsnet, seems be a mess getting tickets

the ticketing platform broke, the original 1500 cleared within several days, so there was a mass demand for these 500 and i think it just crashed. sooooo tinpot
