Firthy, you are in no position to talk about anything that's poor attendance wise. if you want to talk averages, then lets ask why Bradford averaged 6.2% of their home averages on the road this season. Only Crawley did worse.

You have the worst fan base in the league and it's not even close. You cream over false home numbers that are heavily inflated by the fact your season tickets are the cheapest in the league. Put them up to league average prices and you'd be struggling to crack 10,000, like you've done for most of your history. That's awful for a town with a 550,000 population.

You have no right to talk smack about anyone's attendances, home or away.

I appreciate you highlighting my initial point. That being, clubs who average low numbers at home take no notice of away averages, instead they find the home to away ratio more relevant.

Because we have decent numbers at home, our 1,200 away average is considered shocking in comparison. Alright, fella!

Can you define “false support”. I assume you genuinely believe we have a few thousand hardcore supporters and the rest is just made up of…what… glory supporters? :D

If ST prices were full price (whatever that means), no one knows what we’d sell. Our prices are now £250-£380 and we still shift 14,000. As mentioned, we have more fans paying on the day at full price than what some clubs average overall. As for struggling to crack 10,000, I think you ought reconsider that point, ‘cos you couldn’t be more wrong.

Anyway, back on topic. Doncaster have shite away numbers …..continue

Some outstanding GK names, too.

Goalkeepers: Spike Brits (Manchester City), Douglass Lukjanciks (Everton), Oliver Whatmuff (Manchester City)

Spike Brits joined us as an under-9 and stayed for 10 years before City grabbed him last year. Big sell-on or appearance clause money coming to us at some point hopefully.

You can tell it’s pre season when all the pointless attendance arguments start, roll on actual football starting again.

Let the attendance nerds enjoy their time in the sun. To me only Season Ticket sales are of any importance during this down time.

Saw Cheltenham in there and knew they were clearly trolling.

It makes me laugh when people do those . Let's face it a lot of the clubs down here are similiar in size down here in the here and now I will give Bradford , Swindon and Notts kudos for relatively large crowds but things like that ,even history are pretty irrelevant these days - it's not beyond the realms that 6 are not even in the top 6 in terms of budgets next season in league 2 : Swindon , us and Cheltenham are not for sure - Bradford ,Notts and Doncaster might touch it .

I would actually say the 'big 6 ' are Gillingham , Carlisle , Salford , MK , Port Vale and then one of Bradford/Donny or Notts . Based on what these clubs are willing to spend .

Look, you support who you support. Like most you had no real choice in the matter. Most of us have been served a huge shit sandwich for donkey’s years with the odd season or 2 where we cream our jeans.

Saying that, there are some clubs where I’d rather drink my own bath water than support!

You know who you are.

Some good crowds in this league if all of those are averaging over 8k!

All were 8000 or over except for Donny and Wimbledon who could only reach 7000.

Ours was 7,893 last year so that puts us 5th on your list. Not bad going considering most NL teams do well to bring more than 50 away from home.

Without doubt that better than not bad but naturally hugely assisted by the fact you were basically prompted and destined to be champions by about November.

Put it this way when was the last time Chesterfield averaged nearly 8000 at home?

Direct result of having the best owners in our history who have worked wonders off the pitch and continue to do so. Couple that with entertaining & winning football as you say, and you’re going to attract the crowds.

5,200 ST’s sold suggests we should be able to maintain a similar / better (with the improved away attendances this year) average this season.

Ours would be much higher if we did what every other club does and count tickets sold instead of bums on seats, for a big chunk of our home games there are barely any tickets left.

Yeah I'd be surprised if Chesterfield weren't up there. As you say the away contingent in the NL is generally poor and this year there are quite a few localish clubs likely to bring large numbers to Chesterfield . Add in the promotion bump too and your average will be much higher than Wimbledon and Donnie managed last season.

It would be 7-7.5k i reckon considering the home ends full pretty much every game . It must only hold about 8.5k now though

You boys beat me to it , boils my p*ss this , suspect both Town and Vale would be top 6 if we did it like the rest .
Before big games the club says 'we have sold over 9k tickets for the game against *insert team* '. ...

Announcement on the day -' Todays attendance is a fantastic 6566'

Fairweather fans in spectacular numbers.

Football fans perception from a far that the stand(s) are pretty much full in reality is never the case or close.

Yeah if you look around at ours the amount of ST holders who don't turn up is very high with all the reserved stickers dotted about , the guy next to me came to about 5 games seems daft to be spending £80 a game in effect lol
