Now confirmed. £1.5m of new investment, The largest investors include fellow lifelong fans, and a smaller proportion of new shares have gone to a consortium of US based sports enthusiasts.

Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to announce that it has approved a new share issue of £1.5m to 1878 Partners Limited, its majority shareholder. This follows shareholder approval being obtained in August for the conversion of £3.4m of shareholder loans into equity in the Club.

John Rudge's long awaited and fully deserved statue is finally breaking ground after the 100k was raised (partly thanks to Reading fans after the caused our game to be abandoned due to pitch protest who did it as an apology/Thank You).

Going to be on the Hamil End (old away end) car park and is set to be unveiled on his 80th birthday 21st October, so imagine the AFC Wimbledon game on the 26th will see it celebrated.

We will likely never see the days again that we had under JR, challenging for the Play Offs for a place in the Premier League, being the top side in Stoke on Trent, Wembley trips and multiple Giant Killings in the FA Cup and some of the greatest Vale sides.

That's quality and very fitting. I remember JR Vale days well. That championship back then seemed to have about 10 midlands side in it with a few punching above their weight

Jake Eastwood out for 6 months with a severed patella tendon after slicing his leg open on part of the goal frame at Carlisle. What a grim injury. How has that happened? Apparently the goal frame in question is standard but it must have had some sort of sharp edge exposed that isn't usually. Potential recourse for either the club or player to take some legal action here, either on the manufacturers or Carlisle?

The largest shareholder is Simon Keswick, 82 years old and brother of the ex-Arsenal chairman who passed away earlier this year. Stands to reason that he would want to sell his stake. The second largest, who also apparently wants to sell, is based in the Cayman Islands. Between them they own about 53% of the club.

The Trust now own 16%, but I can't believe they have the funds to make a bid to get over 50% of the shares.

I don't expect anything to happen any time soon though to be honest.

I don't think it will have a massive impact on attendances while still performing average in L2 (hopefully changing now as we climb up the league under Lindsey obviously), but the new ownership and CEO clearly making moves in the right direction. Welcome news obviously for away fans too.

Yeah it's an interesting one. Funnily enough we had a multi page thread on our main forum about how to increase attendances after Saturday's low turn out of 6,000 and several pages of debate about exactly what you raised in relation to potential reduced prices and how STH would feel (unbeknownst to us 24 hours later the CEO would be reducing the prices...clearly they read the forum!).

Bit of a mixed bag. Apparently still works out well in the ST favour over the course of the season (and presumably may result in frozen or reduced ST prices too next season) but certainly a few disgruntled fans. I would say on the whole though people just want us to have the attendances we used to have as recently as 2 years ago e.g. 8,462 when we got relegated from L1 in 2023 which were very good for L2 and L1 football (our average between 2007/2008 and 2022/2023 was 9,500 including 4 seasons of over 10,000) so most have swallowed it up for the greater good in the hope of getting those 2,500 fans back...

It was your club that our part owner Wael alkidi was going to purchase before he bought us. Only thing stopping him was Scally even though he was selling still wanted to be involved.
