The ONLY table that matters.
Looks like your club is the best of the rest in 12th.

It’s because we don’t count tickets sold like most teams do so we basically cheat ourselves out of having much better numbers, only ourselves and Port Vale still do that I think.Looks like your club is the best of the rest in 12th.
Correct, if we included ST Holders regardless of attendance we'd probably have 500 more on Saturday's number. It’s because we don’t count tickets sold like most teams do so we basically cheat ourselves out of having much better numbers, only ourselves and Port Vale still do that I think.
Is it?That's embarrassing.
Is it?
Yeah I bet they are fuming about having a third consecutive year of ST sales higher than the previous regime ever achieved.Yeah and maybe frustrating for the owners/club.
Can you imagine what our attendances would be like now if we had any of those quality Championship teams that we had back in the 90’s?Yeah I bet they are fuming about having a third consecutive year of ST sales higher than the previous regime ever achieved.

Once again though...this could well be because pretty much nobody else reports bums on seats. Not unique at all but my the regular guestimates we see it appears no EFL club is impacted more by no shows than GTFC especially after the August summer holidays
Not for the owners like your previous post alluded to though. More for fans trying to buy tickets. The owners have consistently batted stadium capacity questions away. It's probably the one major thing the fans and the owners aren't aligned on.Then you add in the limited ground capacity..... frustrating.
What are you comparing that 10% to though? I'm not saying it isn't a big number, because it is, but if nobody else reports this discrepancy other than Port Vale, who have just gone hell for leather in the transfer market and have a bit of a buzz behind them, there's nothing to tally that up against. Also worth noting this was Cheltenham at home, that's a game that's always likely to be down in attendance in ordinary circumstances. But over 10%?! That's a big number even for August.
What about the manager, aligned? That's not the case over at Meadow Lane that's for sure.

As far as I'm aware, Artell hasn't spoken about stadium/capacity. Not sure managers generally do chip in on those subjects really, do they? I certainly don't remember him being asked about it.
Oh I was talking about L2 not the whole EFL...I might not even be right on that, there could well be more, I just don't know of any off the top of my head.I apologise I didn't realise that it was only Grimsby and Vale in the EFL who only report bums on seats I thought it was more than that.
No I mean are the owners and fans aligned on Artell as your manager?
I don't know why we do it, Garlick discussed but didn't really expand on why. We'd look more massive! if we reported tickets sold like everyone else.I've never really heard a decent reason from Vale as to why we do it that way in all honesty. For the record those who include ST's regardless I think is the right way as it's tickets sold for the event so to speak that really matters.
I guess it harks back to the old days, as traditionally that's what was reported? I get that from a financial perspective, tickets sold makes sense but I quite like the actual attendance being the official one. In an ideal world.all clubs would report both numbers and then we can all thrash it out and willy wave and shame each other in a whole new thread.I've never really heard a decent reason from Vale as to why we do it that way in all honesty. Sorry I forgot you went to all the other grounds and counted bums on seats and compared to announced attendance to realise Grimsby is impacted by it more than everyone else.
It possibly isn't that far fetched in the school holidays that a decent proportion are away on holiday/days out in fairness.I didn't but to be able to do that you have to give more than just Port Vale.
Over 10% no shows is BIG even for August and a problem if you have an insufficient capacity like you do.

When you see Bass just doing goalkeeping like a goalkeeper you see why we were catastrophically bad in defence last season.
God knows why this happens so late, but that’s the double for Jones to go with the main player of the year. Langstaff and Crowley in the XI as well… that defence we had last season committed some incredible crimes.
