I think you'd have to be a bit mental to make a 564 mile round trip on a Tuesday night when there is nothing to play for. We've got no chance of the play-offs, we can't go down and Morecambe aren't going down either so we'll be playing them again next season for those who want to tick it off. If by some chance they did go down, then it wouldn't matter that it hasn't been 'ticked off' either, so there is literally no point whatsoever in anybody going there tonight.

That's the spirit, don't go unless there is something to play for.

Yeah, sorry mate. I know what you mean.

I have tickets for Coventry next Saturday and train tickets down to Wycombe for Easter Monday, not going to any home games myself, but I am a proper 'sado'.

The fun went out of supporting us a long time ago to be honest, when we left Layer Road. The ground is too big for us when we are where we are, you need at least 5,000 in there for there to be anything that resembles any sort of experience/atmosphere and the crowd numbers have rapidly dwindled as the results on the pitch have worsened over the past ten years.

When the crowds are as low as they have become, it's basically the coldest place on Earth, with honestly zero atmosphere, swathes of empty blue seats everywhere and really, really terrible football - some of the games in the past couple of months have honestly been the worst, most boring displays of 'football' I've ever seen. You'd get more entertainment watching some Sunday League. The football is really slow, tedious build up passing it sideways between defenders who are strolling around, 'game management' etc. Everyone is completely fed up with how much we've declined, which means that as soon as anything turns against us now the atmosphere just turns toxic immediately, it's not a nice place to be. When I was younger, if we went a goal behind the crowd simply got louder. Now it just leads to a torrent of abuse aimed at the players and songs about how shit we are for the next ten minutes.

If experiencing that every week still makes you want to drive to Morecambe on a Tuesday night for a game with nothing on it when you know you'll be in amongst a sub-100 following, then fair enough, but I think you're a bit mad!

No one really cares about our club in the local area, we've got 3 home games in a week and it's bloody freezing. No surprises with those figures at all nowadays. It shows how massively we're over-achieving just being here.

As for the game, I fell asleep half way through, drab doesn't cover it.

I don't think this is just a Col U thing, I consider it a modern football thing. Younger, or newer, fans at clubs expect immediate success and there is no such thing as a middling season anymore. If you're not successful then the knives are out and this creates a crap atmosphere at most grounds.

We have been mid-table since around October/November time and for the last few months there has been a groundswell in support for relieving Gary Johnson of his duties simply because we're not very good (we're not that bad either I hasten to add).

He's taken us as far as he can, budgets mean nothing because Accrington are top, he has his favourites, etc, etc, etc....

There's no just going along and enjoying a day out at the football anymore, and I think that's a crying shame.

Totally agree with this. It's amazing how some of our fan base think we should be doing so much better than we are.

Last night was the 3rd time this season that we've had crowds under 1000 for a league game. We have no money and a board who doesn't know who is running the club.

Part of it is the board's fault for alienating a large portion of the fans (which is a totally different story) but some of it is the town sacking it off because we're not beating everyone in the Conference like we did before we got promoted.

If we did go down though, we would end up like Torquay or York not like the Morecambe of old.

Sounds like Sky Sports missed a real advert for lower-league football at the Globe arena last night.

I'm still bitter about them not having our match away at Northampton on live way back when we beat them 3-0 in our Championship winning season.

Crawley away tonight which won't be easy i'd take a point after seeing they've beaten Accy,Luton and Lincoln at home recently.

Can't say i blame you for not wanting him to play on Saturday, he's scored 17 goals this season and only needs 2 more to break his highest amount scored in a season.

Doesn’t matter if he hasn’t scored in months he always scores against us! Did for Swansea, Gillingham, Northampton, you guys early season. Proper bogey player... worse than Luke Beckett used to be.

A hard fought 3-2 win with The Beast scoring again! :woo:Up to 3rd and if we beat Port Vale on Saturday we'll go above Luton for a couple of hours as they don't kick off until 5-15.

Couldn't go to the game last night, life gets in the way sometimes, but the scoreline suggests it was a cracker! Our fans forum suggests otherwise.

It seems we let in three poor goals, the ref was useless and Wycombe play anti-football.

On a plus note, Camara got his first league goal (we played with a striker!!!!!). I would be interested by Wycombe's fans thoughts on him. I understand it was only a one off but first impressions etc.

Because we're not playing this weekend we could drop another couple of places, although i'm hoping the extra rest will do us good.

The ref should have sent off Payne just before half time for a 2 footed challenge with studs up on Luke O'Nien's leg and how connolly can complain about his 2nd yellow for a horrific challenge on the same player is beyond me, he even tried to attack O'Nien on the floor while in agony and had to come off injured, classy!

Sorry Mowgli I don't know how to put tongue in cheek emojis on a post.

I have no idea how the game went as I wasn't there but the part about 3 poor goals and the ref useless etc is the usual rubbish you find whenever you lose a game.

Connolly has a bad habit of being slightly out of position and then making a last ditch tackle. Good for the supporters to see but he's bound to get it wrong sometimes. Payne is a ball playing midfielder. A bad tackle from him is because he is shit at tackling.

Good luck in the promotion chase but for selfish reasons I'd prefer you to stay here.

Morecambe for us tomorrow. It's a long way. One of those places where you see a sign for it and you still end up travelling for what is seemingly another 3 hours.

Waterfall's final game of his suspension, Vickers out. Probably go with 4-3-3 again, which has got us 7 out of the last 9.

Important that we win this one heading into the Easter weekend against Exeter and Carlisle.
