Best own goal I’ve ever seen in person. Although Lee Dixon’s 40 years chip over Seaman or Jamie Pollocks stunning headed own goals are still my faves

Chris Brass at Darlington for Bury was a corker. Managed to break his nose, too.

Our one was a strange one on Saturday! Raglan booted the ball clear hitting Howkins and sending it flying into the net!

And getting a blowjob from their granny before she puts her teeth in before breakfast  I've visited some right shitholes in my 57 years but i'd say Yeovil is by far the worst and locals playing the banjo is the least of their problems but at least they keep things in the family

Thanks.

Twice this season during a match involving FGR a spectator has invaded the pitch.
First time at Coventry when a Coventry fan came on pitch to finger-wag the Coventry captain.
Second time was on Saturday when a Chesterfield fan seemingly wanted to have words with his manager in the dug-out and chose a shortcut across pitch to get there.

Both times the lads' strolled slowly across the pitch and still no stewards got near them for ages. Felt sympathy though, what a shit time both those clubs have had.

Sorry but surely the guy deserves a sending off just for that ridiculous beard and slicked back mullet.
I mean at what point do you look in the mirror and say yeah, that looks good?

Meh, he's no Adam Clayton.

Best ever own goal I've witnessed was in 1989 when we played Tranmere. Their right back lobbed the ball over of the keeper from around 40 yards out in front of the sincil bank terrace with no Lincoln player within 20 yards of him, just bizarre!

Watched the Bostwick sending off a couple of times and can't really work it out. A tug on the attacker?
The foul is for pulling him back, the sending off is for denying a goalscoring opportunity. All looks a bit soft though really.
Few whispers that it's been rescinded, and rightly so.

Seemed a borderline foul at the time, never mind a red. It's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

Lincoln City FC are doing something right both on and off the pitch! Isn’t that obvious?

Not sure an article in an Essex local paper adds much to what a lot of people already know. There are a few clubs in L2 that should emulate or more accurately emulate Lincoln over the past few seasons. For some , obviously, it’s very tough to replicate this, almost impossible to copy.

How did you find that article? And why? Lol

It was on our forum, thought it was interesting and that it would provoke some discussion here. :)

Ughhh maybe it is to some.

What is there to discuss? Which clubs could emulate Lincoln? What specific components are needed for such a transformation?

I heard that if Keith Curle leaves us this summer then we might go for Graham Alexander as his replacement.

He would be a class manager for us at this level!

We had this fella on loan last season. You can see why.

We must be doing something right if other clubs wish to emulate us.

Dear me. Yet more signs of why journalism is dying on it's arse. The guy comes across as completely unknowledgeable.

Why are Colchester's crowds shit? Well, maybe it's because they decided(no doubt because it was cheap and easy) to build a soulless identikit stadium on the outskirts of town. And put no amenities(like pubs, chippies and shops) anywhere near the place. Where the nearest train station is 2 miles away and you have to get a football special bus to get there.

Yes, maybe the club could do more to engage the local community, but when some areas of the town are 5 miles away from the ground, it's hard to convince people to come. It's the extra cost and time it would take. Maybe the local community should make more effort, but when everything is spoon fed to them now in terms of social media, instant updates, sky sports etc, that extra time and cost will put a lot of people off.

And I'm not sure why this guy is so unhappy. Colchester have averaged around 3,000 even when they played at Layer Road. It was only in the hey day of the late noughties when they got into League One and moved into the new stadium that crowds increased. And why would people come when they've not managed a top 7 finish for the last decade?

As he alluded to, Lincoln are riding the crest of a wave. Let's see what happens if they don't go up and the Cowley's leave. Let's see what happens when they don't win every week and aren't in a promotion race. When they aren't going on long cup runs. We'll soon their crowds start to dip back towards what they've always been.

It doesn't need a long piece to work out that when a team does well, they get more fans attending. And when they don't, the crowds start to dip. Happens every single time no matter where you look.

Stags fans....out of interest what is that bizarre black metal structure near the corner flag ? We couldn't fathom it out ( yes the match was that shit we discussed that instead ).
Last time I came was 93/4 season and the ground has changed remarkably.

It is our second hand scoreboard that wasn't working on Saturday. There is a smaller non working scoreboard at the other end of the Bishop Street stand side.

I bet no other club has a side of the ground with a disused stand and two non working scoreboards.

Oh I forgot the old North Stand clock which has been moved to the Bishop Street stand side was also not working on Saturday, apparently someone in camera gallery pulled out the electric plug by mistake.

This is the world's biggest digital clock when working / the worst ever scoreboard :ffs: They say the great wall of China can be seen from space, I'm sure they can spot this monstrosity too.
It was bought from Wembley. We've actually got more panels and could have made it even bigger. Thank fuck we didn't, must cost us a fortune in leccy when working.

Our game sounds like it was thoroughly exciting. We had nothing to play for, a draw suited Morecambe nicely (their 18th draw of the season) and less than a thousand there to see it. The epitome of football.
