Popular opinion; Sunderland and Portsmouth fans are unforgivable scabs.

I genuinely believe Cheltenham will be very hard to break down today, as they always have seemed to be these last few years after the fair few tonkings we dished out to them home and away (two 4-0s and an 8-1 come to mind) a long time ago, but I can see us nicking a 1-0 win today which I'll take all day long.
Of late Cheltenham have been consistent.
They have won three or four games against 10 men teams and are top of the current form table.
They could even sneak into play-offs with that luck.

What form table are they top of?

Pretty sure we are top of any form table from 4 to 12 games.

In the game against us you nearly paid the price for doing that a couple of times in the first half though that was more your keeper then. Sometimes just got to be smart and play the percentages.

You must lead the table for errors leading to goals.

Your defensive record isn't that bad either and it's silly goals like that can tot up over the course of a season and knock you down 3 or 4 places.

True we did. Problem is teams know we're gonna do it and we're not good enough to play out of it all the time. You only get away with it so often.

We made an awful error away at MK which cost us a goal there, and Cooper had specifically said pre-match that we couldn't afford to gift any silly goals this time. But then we did anyway which is pretty frustrating.

Playing it out from the back and having ‘sweeper keepers’ is such a bollocks concept, especially for lower leagues where players simply aren’t good enough, and I don’t understand why lower league managers feel they have to implement it ‘cos the likes of Guardiola do it to bore the fuck out of the opposition. Case in point, Ben Garratt is one of the worst candidates as ‘sweeper keeeper’ but we seem to insist on playing it to him in tight spots or have him come off his line [to hesitate] because it’s the ‘right way’. Just fucking boot it down field or into row Z.

First half you were suicidal against us, second half you learnt and did the fancy stuff on the half way line.

We're going to have a women's team again.

From 1st June, Nettleham Ladies (who are just down the road from me) will become Lincoln City Women. They're a village team, who have basically can't progress any further because of facility regulations that they can't meet within their current set-up, which is a Sunday League pitch with a stand basically. Currently play WBA/Wolves etc in their league.

They'll move to Lincoln United's Stadium, who we already have a link with and use for some of our academy games. Doing that and re-naming means they can progress further through the leagues.

Of course, we lost Lincoln City Ladies when Ray Trew relocated and renamed them Notts County Ladies when we got relegated (and then got rid of them totally 2 or 3 years ago) so it's good to get a Women's team back in Lincoln.

Morecambe at home for us tomorrow. Need to win and I'm quietly confident that we will. However Morecambe's current form makes this game much more difficult than I was hoping it would be a few weeks ago.

Win tomorrow and get a point against Exeter on Tuesday and we will be in a pretty good position.

It's so tedious and boring to watch, too.

Ajose is out for the season now, he was hopeless in front of goal but a good 'lead the line' player a bit like Hemmings.

That's 7/8 long term injuries this season :bl:

A feature of having fatcroft and futch in charge i'm afraid
He normally blames it on the training facilities

I’m afraid you are wrong in this case.

White broke his leg from a bad challenge, Rose broke his face from a nasty collision, Ojenik had a freak accident in training catching a ball and broke his leg, Macca had surgery that he’s needed for a while, and I believe Davies and Graham were also injured during games.

You cannot really blame a manager for reckless tackles.

We were shocking for most of that half, truly awful. Positioning, passing, first touches, tackling was completely absent and the goal was definitely coming. Got a bit better towards the end, ish. Our 3 CBs and 3 in midfield just end up on top of each other so instead of having an extra man in these positions we end up leaving space elsewhere. The lone striker role does not suit Wilson best, any slow attack means we have no aerial threat when we get to a crossing position.

Did you have a goal chalked off just before ht? And have Morecambe parked the bus yet again today? That's the only way they set up when playing away.

What a blow. More than matched the Staggies today and were looking good for at least a point until capt fantastic Gary Deagan once again decided to give our opponents a helping hand. Suffice to say that Mansfield didn't have a single shot on target by that time, which is frankly poor from a side chasing automatic promotion.

I'm sticking to my opinion that I don't think of a promotion side when I think of Mansfield. They're solid at the back but very limited up front, irrespective of the number of players they have out due to injuries right now. Irrespective because all sides go through this at one point or other.

I'm not worried about relegation cos tbh I never truly felt
we were going down this year even during the time when
we couldnt buy a win. But it's really gutting to lose a game this way.

Awful first half. Second half lacked quality and urgency. We could have won if we'd turned up for more than just 20 minutes out of 90.

I fear the current system is inviting us to settle for draws rather than trying to win.

We were fucking wank today, another Crewe was on the cards but luckily Cambridge made a
stupid mistake which we took advantage of perfectly.

I suppose that's why we are 2nd and Cambridge are a long way further down.

Basically we have a big problem with nerves at home, and it's resulting in poor performances - from destroying Exeter away then struggle against Cambridge, a team with all due respect lacking a lot of quality in comparison.

It's a bit daft holding that view over one or two games, and the table does not lie at this stage to be fair.

I'm not defending that perfomance today though.
