Hopefully our injured players are back in training this week. If we get through and it's a Morecambe vs Newport final, I think everyone knows Kevin Ellison will score the winner.

Tranmere is a very tough game, evenly matched. Looked a good side at our place but obviously we were down to 10 thanks to another stupid red card. Is Vaughan going to be fit? I saw he came on at the weekend, rushed back?

Vaughan is back indeed, how sharp he is no one really knows. Pretty much a clean bill of health other than Scott Davies who is out until at least Christmas.
Since our heavy Easter defeat at Cheltenham, Hill has gone for a more defensive approach to games resulting in us being particularly painful to watch. Confidence appears to have evaporated and we are now just a shadow of the good footballing team we were November - February.
Good to see Cole Stockton doing well for you, always had ability but was too lazy for my liking and was often the target of the Prenton boo boys.
Who ever wins this one I hope they go all the way.

I watched the Keith Hill video and thought he came over ok. He did say at one stage that it's not his fault but if he strongly believes that then why not? Maybe it's a case of if you've already made your mind up about him it was bound to be shite and excusive. I actually thought that he was saying mostly that the players were a lot better than they were showing and that they've now got a chance to prove that. That's motivational isn't it?
Keith Hill's Rochdale sides were mostly exciting and risk-taking and were successful. Sounds like that's what he's asking the Tranmere players to be like, because they're capable.
Recently he blamed the supporters for not getting behind the team and called us fickle. I have no idea what things are like on the planet he lives on but here on earth its been difficult getting behind your team from your home. What does he want us to do, shout through megaphones. It is insulting to call fans fickle because we are not impressed by what he is producing for our club. We were hardly Barcelona under Guardiola level previously so its not fickle to be disappointed with the rubbish we are getting now.
He is the manager, he selects the team and tactics and coaches them. If the football is no good that is down to him.

It's usually the way it works with playoffs, the teams that finish in the final two playoff places typically have hit a bit of form to get there, and they carry this momentum into the semis and final. Whereas the team that finishes a place outside the autos may have had a couple of bad results to miss out on a promotion place, and therefore have the mental effects that come with it.
Ah... takes us back to when was it... 2009?
When we were in the bottom 4 or 5 just before Christmas in the NLN then put together an amazing run under Dave Bayliss and Darren Sheridan to get into the play offs in the last week of the season.
Even though we finished 5th and faced the team in 2nd we knew we'd beat them which we did 2-0 at home and 2-0 away, before winning the final 1-0.
Momentum breads belief....

Yeah, but that doesn't stop the two of you bickering on our forum.
Once he pisses off i could 't give a shit what he drivels on about.
Worry about the fact you will not be going to Wembley even if you beat Sunderland.

Fantastic, be our record gate :D Though actually looks like we might be none if Newport can't have any either, which is tough but fair.
I suppose we could put a temporary stand in the sheep field, as a sort of second tier on the wet terrace, but it would need to be a very big one to get anywhere near 10k capacity...but tend to agree with you on the likelyhood of none being allowed as the final outcome. The Welsh Government seem to be far more cautious at easing up restrictions, would be very surprised if they move quickly enough to allow fans back in to football grounds in time for the play-offs...mind you, if it was rugby I think the answer might be different!

Newport County AFC welcomes today’s announcement by the Welsh Government that our upcoming Sky Bet League Two play-off semi-final first leg against Forest Green Rovers has been selected as a pilot event to test the return of supporters.

The club has been working towards this possibility in recent weeks and will continue our dialogue with the relevant stakeholders as we prepare for the safe return of supporters to Rodney Parade.

We would like to thank supporters for their continued patience and will communicate the relevant arrangements in due course once they have been confirmed.

Feck it,, i've been pricked twice so i will be going, what could possibly go wrong.

Club has just announced we will have fans in for the 1st leg as a pilot event. Tidy.
That’s great news, will make the play offs so much more enjoyable.

Have they give any indication on how many fans will be allowed in?

No not yet. Swansea have confirmed they'll have 3,000 fans in - tickets free of charge and available through ballot for ST holders.
Not sure how many ST holders we have - last year was 2,100 I think. Probably half that for this season I guess. Pro rata the Swansea allocation to Dave and we'll maybe have 1,000 ish tickets available, although we have terraces so unsure what difference that makes.

Tranmere have sacked Keith Hill. Interesting timing.
Good riddance. The guy alienated the fans, caused , if reports are correct, a lot of problems in the dressing room and the style of football in the last 14 games given what we had seen prior to, and during, The Pizza Cup Final has been truly shocking. The fact he has gone has increased our chances in the Play Offs by 500%. If Dawes and Parky can get us playing anywhere near the way we were before Agent Hill arrived and destroyed our season with his arrogance and negativity we have a good chance of winning this thing

Wouldnt it be better to rebuild for next season perhaps, remove the dead wood at your club and yes that includes Hill which has been booted, Either way i think sacking him should have had happened sooner imho like it was clear that morale and the team was in disharmony

In the last 8 seasons we have been in play offs 4 times, missed out on the last day once, been relegated twice and technically demoted once. Whatever else its not been dull.
