In the last 8 seasons we have been in play offs 4 times, missed out on the last day once, been relegated twice and technically demoted once. Whatever else its not been dull.
This is our fifth time in seven...three times in the Conference, losing in the semis and Final before winning...missed a year in the League, when we stayed up by a point, then lost in the semis again, last season ended early because of the pandemic and guess what, we are back in the play-offs this season. If the pattern is to be repeated we will probably get to the Final and lose to Tranmere.

Season ticket holders get in free for our home leg. Haven't got one myself but good luck to those who have.

We’ve announced that we will have 3400 tickets for our home game against Morecambe. It has also been announced that every season ticket holder will get a free ticket for the game. Brilliant that from the club.
3,400 is the exact number who didn't ask for a refund.

When we played you at Wembley the German sausage van was doing a roaring trade from FGR supporters. I couldn't help wondering if you aren't all fully on board with the vegan thing.

We probably have some supporters who are either vegan or vegetarian...maybe a few more than average, who knows...I just like food, probably consider myself flexitarian, eat meat some days and not others. I just try to have a balanced diet that is reasonably healthy...if we get to Wembley I will definitely treat myself to a German sausage, with lashings of mustard and a side order of fries, if the van is there!

I only know one fan that's actually vegan. Tbh up until Vince rocked up I'd never tried anything vegan in my life. Some of it isn't bad, the samosas from Girish's stall were very decent but still miss the Cottage Pies, proper club speciality those were.

They weren't cheap. About £5 each which is steep considering you can get 4 bratwurst for £2 in Aldi. London prices are legalised robbery.
Meat is not in my diet on a daily basis either but if you are at the top of the food chain it seems rude not to eat other animals even occasionally. It's going against the natural order of things, if we were meant to live on nothing but plants we would have hooves for grazing purposes.
Whatever happens with us in the play offs the other two teams have reasons to want us in the final. You because you have a decent record against us and Newport for revenge from 2019.
Will be interesting now that we have removed the millstone from around the players necks.

Do they tell everybody they are vegan. Seems to be a thing they like to do.

FGR fans, I was always meaning to follow Josh Davison's progress at yours but always kind of forgot.

I know he's scored a couple but how's he been generally, does he get much game time and is he likely to feature much in these play-off games?

Has played a fair bit off and on, apparently he’s played in 19/23 games since joining. Made a good impact when he first arrived with his work rate and running, was initially meant as a back up to Matt but his early performances meant he was starting games alongside him.

Got a couple of goals including on the bog of a pitch at Newport, probably his best performance. After that game we hit the skids, injuries mounted up and what is a young squads confidence dropped right off, including Josh’s. The team was chopped and changed a fair bit before Cooper got sacked. Since then he’s been eased back in again and scored a cracking goal in what was a massive win over Tranmere last week.

I like him, great attitude chases everything, bit raw still but you can see he’s a good player in the making. I expect he’ll start in the playoffs, he’s started the last 2 crucial games and done well.

Cheers, will be watching these games with interest then.

That's pretty much how he's viewed here, a hard worker with ability that just needs to be unearthed. I suspect Nigel Adkins would like to spend a summer with him before deciding whether to loan him back out.

The fish and chips, still permitted when Dale took over, was really good...took him a while to remove that dish from the menu, possibly because it didn't contain red meat. However, when us lesser mortals from the East Stand were still allowed in the Carol Embury I enjoyed quite a few Q-pies, chips and serve yourself salads...jeez, did I get value for my money, sometimes it was a challenge to eat my dinner before an evening kick-off...pleased to report that I was always good for the challenge!

Yeah the fish and chips were good. The Green Man used to do a takeaway menu for a bit back in the day, could get fish and chips/scampi and chips etc. These days I just go down the hill to Walkers next to the Village Inn if I fancy some after the game.

The q pies were decent but well overpriced, as were the badger pasty’s. The veggie burgers are poor imo. Need a lot of sauce to taste of anything. Generally just chips and curry sauce and a pint or two at games for me, good to see we’ll be selling BrewDog on tap in the bars from next season.

I've had the spicy pasty and chips in the Gym Bar a few times, which are pretty tasty and definitely filling...even better now you can buy both in the same place and don't have to go and queue on the concourse to get your chips!

I can't see us winning the play off's so i am rooting for morcambe!! not because i have a dislike for forest green or tranmere but because if any of those two win we will lose a lot of top class contributers to this forum.

we don't want Morecambe to go up as they're the closest team to us and Tranmere is easy to get to - so sorry it's You or FGR to go up.

Morecambe is nearer than Carlisle though.
I know mate!! but part of the joy's of being a football supporter is being sat on a coach at 2 o'clock in the morning pissed tired and uncomfortable and praying for your bed.

lost a bet with a Charlton/Welling fan when i was at Uni in Canterbury - and had to watch Charlton lose to Arsenal in Div 1 as a forfeit.... (01/11/1986) you lost 0-2. It wasn't even at the Valley.... :ffs:.... Selhurst Park

Morecambe as I've never been and it's coastal so surely good for a drink?

I must admit, I went for Forest Green as it sounds as if you get a bigger allocation than you do at Newport and because I thought it was closer but just having had a look it's actually quicker on the train to get to Newport. also Newport station isn't as far away from the ground.

Swap Newport for Forest Green then, Tranmere stays third for their decent away end.

Yeah, but we're in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and they're in Newport :D
