Going to be interesting to see how this turns out. Obvs shrewsbury been f@cked by injuries worse than anyone which has stopped them leading by miles (do'nt liseen to the usual luton bleatings they have it worse than anyone, when they only have the second west injury list)

Burton; shrewsbury; southend for me with Burton titling due to Shrewsbury's horrir injury list
I know this is an obvious trolling attempt, but even if Shrewsbury's injury list this season was worse in terms of quantity, I very much doubt the players were of the quality as ours on the treatment table. We lost the entire spine of our team around December/January - its a miracle we've done as well as we have. They're slowly coming back, bit by bit, but we've still got a lot of quality still being stitched up.
Some poor refereeing decisions resulting in red cards haven't helped either.

We've not had a huge quantity of injuries but the quality is certainly showing. They're also all spine players. Knight-Percival, Wesolowski, Lawrence and Mangan out atm who would all be starting if fit.

Our injuries were similar really in that they were all to key players.

Guttridge, Benson, Lawless, Pelly, Doyle all at the same time is tough to deal with, and then when the backup to those players gets injured like Rooney et al you know you're shit out of luck. The Guttridge injury was absolutely huge, I don't think the importance and difficulty that injury presented to us can be over stated really.

Our injury list is much, much better now though as people are coming back in dribs and drabs it's no longer a valid excuse anymore in my opinion now Guttridge is back.

Not quite sure why the Shrewsbury fan is so militant about it, quite clear both sides have had injury issues, not a competition, some of the comments above are embarrassing.

I was just putting some context behind the Chesterfield fan's comments that were factually incorrect. I think you've confused him of being a Shrewsbury fan? You've without doubt had worse injuries up until recently but I would definitely love a couple of those 4 coming back, hopefully Mangan and Lawrence will be back before the end of the month.

Yep. You only have to look at our results and goals scored last season before and after the Guttridge injury to get a sense of how key he was to our attacking play even in a free scoring team that included a 30 goal wide forward and a 20 goal striker. Losing him this season when we have no real prolific goal scorer and are nowhere near as far above the rest of the league as we were last season was a colossal blow. I pray he stays fit for the run in because he makes our whole team tick.

The militant one isn't a Shrewsbury fan, bizarrely - according to his profile he's a Chesterfield fan.

Think there is going to be some dropped points tonight at the top...
Only fancy Newport and Shrewsbury for maximum points. Good night for us to get 3 points so no doubt we won't

I am not so confident we will get maximum points tonight, with the injuries of late it has pushed us to the edge of uncertainty!

Big 5 point gap between 3rd and 4th now. Good night for us, delighted with a win at Stanley.

That was hard work to listen too, and sounds like Accy pushed us all the way!

In the first 13 games of the season we picked up 26 points

In the last 14 games we have picked up 28 points.

That middle season slump where we only picked up 6 points in 8 games has really cost us.

5 points isn't all that significant in this division, as proved on Saturday when everyone above us dropped points. That difference was immediately cut to 2. But then we fuck up last night - that said, away to the biggest budget in the division.

As long as the games to go outstrips the points difference, its still very much "on".

Same here, we won 8 of the last 10 and were in the top 3 in October. Unfortunately between that we lost 12 of 15!!

You didn't play Shrewsbury or Portsmouth.

With the 4 teams currently fighting for the last playoff spot playing each other this Saturday it really is a huge day!

Us away to Plymouth and Stevenage hosting Newport.

We could be 1 point of the playoffs by Saturday best case scenario, or we could be 6 points off. Need to keep the momentum going and avoid defeat!

Good decision! quite a few backed us to finish top half after we beat accrington 5-1, think it was something crazy like 7/2 at the time.

Bookies tend to give generous odds in the lower leagues!

Wish i'd have bet on us before the season started was high odds but i never thought we'd finish above mid-table obscurity at best after last season's shocker.

One of the worst performances of the season today. Playing Danny Rose up front on his own at home against a bottom 6 side is stupid. Lost our discipline majorly today mainly due to inept refereeing display. Need to bounce back in our next two away games. York and Mansfield both tough but we need to take at least 4 points from these games to keep up with the chasing pack.

Hard earned point at Southend which i'm happy with as Luton and Bury both lost and Shrewsbury drew, only Burton won at the top.5 points above 4th and a much better goal difference than Southend, Luton and Bury, 5 0r 6 more wins should confirm promotion i reckon but we still have to play away at Luton and home to Shrewsbury so it's in our hands.

We can't continue to play as badly, as we have done recently. 4 defeats in 5 games now.
