I think the current top 3 will be the ones now, certainly Burton look nailed on now, can't see them not going up now.

Could be a bit of pressure on Wycombe going in to our game on Tuesday if Bury beat Northampton on Saturday, but i can't see us causing Wycombe too many problems I'm afraid Bury fans. Especially as its on tele!

What a difference a year makes!

Doesn't it just! :woo: I thought we were doomed before you helped us out:2thumb: Before the season started we got rid of the dead wood players and made some very good signings like Joe Jacobson,Aaran Pierre and on loan Alfie Mawson have shored up what was a leaky defence but the outstanding signing for me was Paul Hayes up front who was made captain,an experienced striker at this level who helps the younger players with help and advice. Plus Ainsworth learned from his mistakes from last season like playing out of form or unfit players and played others out of position. Another reason why we've turned it around is the defence which has been a sttled back for all season basr the odd suspension or injury.

mowgli Just out of interest what has your budget been this season?

I can honestly see us doing alot better next season, We won't go up but I think Murray knows what he want's to do, given the players he has signed it says to me he can spot a good young player like Elder but he can attract a decent calibere of player like Blair and Kee, sadly Blair is out for about 7/8 months yet but the signs are there. I think it will be a new look MTFC squad next season but more rumours of the budget being slashed again and a rumour that's not started as such yet but is there is a potential takeover bid in the Summer. That's probably bollocks but on our current budget I do believe Murray will have us playing a good brand of football and at least challenging for the Play Offs.

The club keep everything like that secret but we know we're in the bottom 5 for spending, all our signings have been free or on loan. We have a good relationship with Brentford and QPR which helps.

Can't say I'm too surprised with today's result, sort of thing we always do, put together a good run of form, get ourselves into the play-offs only to lose and fall out of them in the very next game.

Awful match, very little quality on show, we simply didn't do enough to get anything from the game but most of the post match talk will be about the referee and the fact it all kicked off at the end.

Controversial winning goal for Dagenham, assistant flagging for offside, nothing given and after a bit more play the ball gets put in the net. Referee and Assistant then proceed to have a 1-2 minute mothers meeting before deciding to award the goal. From the sound of things the referee was right to overrule his assistant (by the letter of the law anyway) but with the lino nowhere near the action he missed an actual offside call for the final pass that led to the goal.

At full time it all got a little heated, from my view it looked like it'd stemmed from a little bit of pushing and shoving prior to our last minute corner, but the radio commentators are suggesting Joss Labadie bit Ronnie Henry and it was that sparked all the commotion.

I suppose the one consolation was the fact most of the other sides in contention slipped up, can't keep relying on results elsewhere though.

Think he has, was given something like a 10 game ban whilst playing for Torquay.

If Wycombe beat Luton on Tuesday I'd say Southend will pretty much be out of the running.

They seem to fall away towards the end of every season since they've been back down in League 2, yes they made thae play offs but missed out.

I'm getting slightly concerned about Bury's recent form! I hope Southend can get at leats a draw at Bury this weekend because I don;t see us getting much from out trip to Pompey. Our game away at Bury in a few weeks time is starting to look crucial

You should do okay at Pompey likewise us at Dagenham sao would be good for us both if Southend can get a point. Yes Bury are on a good run but have they beaten anyone near the top of the table? Northampton is the only one that comes to mind.

We've beaten Burton, drawn with Wycombe twice beat Luton, beat Stevenage, Plymouth twice. Drawn with Southend. We got thumped 5-0 earlier in the season by Shrewsbury but I think it'll be a lot closer this time around.

We're effectively 5 points behind Shrewsbury and Wycombe with 8 games to go which is tough but not impossible to catch. We need to pretty much win 6/8 and draw the other two. The pressure is on the them and not us at the moment and we play teams that have things to play for which I prefer too.

Your fixtures look pretty kind, yes you have Southend and Shrewsbury left, but both at home - the rest are midtable. I reckon Tranmere will be down before you play them again

Maybe, personally I don't think we're good enough for the top three but at the same time the P/O have not been kind to us. We've been a lot more solid and winning even when we're not playing well. Shrewsbury could well be a winner takes all kinda game.

We only have 2 games left against teams in the top 10 Burton away and Exeter at home. With the best away record in the football league don't be surprised if we get get something at Burton.

It has to end sometime ! Seriously though depending on how results go between then and now this game has the potential to be huge, great its on a bank holiday Monday which should ensure a big crowd(by our standards anyway).
Personally I would rather be facing teams in the top half during the run in, we seem to perform better against them.

Good wins for us & Wycombe. Little bit of pressure on Burton going into a tricky run of fixtures now. Title is still wide open imo.

Southend clinging on, I feel it's too much for them now.

Yet another away win 1-0 at Dagenham our 13th of the season :woo: 7 points above Bury and a better goal difference of 9 after Bury v Southend was abandoned so the pressure is on them to try and catch us, even i'm starting to believe now!

Well over for us we have some easy games coming up on paper but can't catch the top sides when they never drop points. Burton, shrews and Wycombe fully deserve to go up this year

Dire game today but we were resilient and dug in when we needed to. Jimmy Floyd H was there scouting us ahead of the Burton away game. Still well in it and who knows what could happen if we can beat Burton.

JFH has watched Wycombe's last 2 games, I should think he knows all he can know about you.
Hope we can keep a decent gap between us before the meeting on Easter Monday.
Bad news for Bury with their game being abandoned, that really does crank up the pressure on them, no room for any slip ups for them.
Personally I think the top 3 will stay as they are but not certain in which order !

What games will you have left after monday? After we play you we only have to play 1 team in the top 10 thats at home to Exeter and to be fair no away game worries me with our record this season, play crap and still win sign of a good side.
Like you i don't think the top 3 will change but stranger things have happened just look at Hartlepool.

Our last 5 games are Luton A, Carlisle H, Morecambe A, Northampton H and Cambridge Utd A.
I see you still have to play Morecambe and Northampton but the opposite way round.
Pretty sure JFH will be gunning for the title which would be brilliant but promotion will keep me happy, that will be a magnificent achievement for our club for the 1st time in our history.
Enjoy the rest of the season, apart from bank holiday Monday of course !
