Also some of our fans spoke to Carl Dickinson when he sat in the stand at the Crewe game last weekend. He's fit & available but has been hung out to dry because he stood up to the management over what he saw as unfair treatment of our younger players. Sadly there have been rumours of bullying since Way took over as manager.

As I said earlier I hope we do the right thing and play this properly. It’s only fair on Notts and Yeovil that we do and if the boot was on the other foot would hope that would be the same. That said Macc are more than capable anyway of getting something from us and my guess is they may well just do that.

We can vouch for that bauy.....even going 2-0 up away wasn't enough.

1-0 up and the opposition keeper sent off. Don't fuck this up lads.

With Macclesfield and Kamikaze County drawing, they could be three priceless points. County down to 10 men at our place.
I've become so absorbed in this thread, I'll probably stick around for the duration. I'll probably need the practice for next season.

nothing any clearer after todays games. Macc at us next, Notts at home to Grimsby and Yeovil at Cobblers. Hard to predict any of those, although Macc have it to lose as it stands. I still think that Macc may survive.

So here are my predictions, this is it we may as well not bother going to any games now...

Crawley Town 1 Notts County 1
Macclesfield 2 Newport 2
Yeovil 0 Colchester 0

Northampton 2 Yeovil 0
Notts County 2 Grimsby 1
Port Vale 1 Macclesfield 1

Macclesfield 3 Cambridge 2
Swindon 2 Notts County 1
Yeovil 1 Carlise 1

Macclesfield ----44
Notts County-----41
Yeovil-----39

Well the results correct if not completely the correct scores for the first round.

Nobody seems to want to stay up. We have all missed numerous chances to get out of it over the last month or so. That was a big opportunity for Yeovil today tho. We’re both fast running out of games to overhaul Macclesfield, and both could be relegated next week. Tough game for them next week at Northampton, while we simply must beat Grimsby at home.

We both need John Askey and Vale to do us a huge favour v Macc. Am I right in thinking he left Moss Rose under a bit of a cloud?

We managed to hold Newport with a makeshift team. Incredibly low on quality going forward but better defensively than we've been in a while. Decent point given the other results. One more win from our winnable last two would probably do it.

We were timewasting today. We’ve fucking given up on maths now as well as football.

24th - Notts County(44) - 38 points. Grimsby(H), Swindon(A)

As you were for these 3. Cambridge officially confirm their place as expected, so mathematically it's down to these 3. Not a terrible point at home to Newport for Macc, but seeing both the sides below them take the lead today must have given them the sweats. They now have the Vale and Cambridge to go and surely can't just keep relying on other results to go their way as well. Got to pull a win out from somewhere. Both the next 2 look favourable, but can they actually win?

Same goes for Yeovil. 1-0 up, the opposition have their keeper sent off and they still can't win. Now it's a tricky trip to Northampton followed by Carlisle at home, a team who'll probably still be in with a shout at the top 7 at that stage. As for Notts County, they were winning but also self destructed, seeing a man sent off the lead go very quickly. Still possible they beat 2 nothing to play for sides, especially Grimsby who are dreadful on the road. This is the last chance saloon for both now. Never say never, but boy does it look unlikely at this point.

Thought you might struggle against Newport with Cameron missing. Any idea if he’ll be back this season?

Looking bleak for Notts now purely because of that goal difference. They have to win 1 of 2 and would need points in the other if Macc pick up a point in the last two.

Thought they’d survive somehow but certainly Macclesfield with all to lose now.

Miles better than Friday but that's not saying much. Thought he might have shifted formation to 4-4-2 when I initially saw the line up, but same setup that definitely doesnt work well for us. Midfield was chasing shadows and being dragged back and forth, Rose and Ntambwe were knackered after 20 mins. Back 3 were individually decent; Kelleher deserved motm and mwh fitted in well as makeshift third cb to be fair, but still had Newport places not picked up throughout game. Durrell was poor and really should have left that free kick for Cole.

Missed plenty of chances in the first half (Elliott major culprit there...), but by the end of the game were knackered and way second best.

I think we might beat macc next week (no pressure, playing with relative confidence), which would put it to the last game.

Has Askey been experimenting with the line up at?

And how are relations between him and Macc, Macc fans?

The main spine of the team will be kept in place. Only question is whether Pope starts or does the role I prefer of him coming off the bench as an impact sub. Don’t know anything about JA and Macc but after today am confident in saying we will do the right thing and play the game properly. Whether that gets the result I don’t know but am sure we will give it our best.

We made a couple of changes today but gave it everything to take a deserved point of MK. If we play as we have done in 7 of the last 10 I’m confident we will win the game, although play as we did in the previous two we might get beat!

We took a couple of knocks today so will likely change it again. Might see Pope come back in.

As I said before today I hope we play all three of our last games as we have been recently to respect the rest of the league.

Askey said after the game he wasn’t looking forward to it and wants Macc to stay up but wants to win the game arguably more than normal. Stated even if it was tiddlywinks he would be going out for the win.

I was fearful before today that we’d throw in the towel and beach our way to the summer but seeing our performance today we look as though we will go all out.

I don't think he would take any pleasure in relegating us. But I'm sure he will approach the match in a professional way regardless of any feelings he has towards the club. He has his own career to take care of above all else.

will you bring many to VP next week?
Probably not but it should be our biggest following of the season, perhaps 700ish.

Looked like he'd done his knee again at Northampton so possibly not, although I'm no expert. He hadn't been in great form anyway and the rest of the defence really upped their game today in his absence so hopefully we won't miss him too much.

He won't experiment too much and we've played pretty well bar a couple of games recently. The Stevenage game was never a 4-1, we let their time wasting get to us and they basically had 4 chances and scored all 4.

We play with a bit more pace and pressing than before and I anticipate that a poorer defence in Macclesfield will struggle not to concede. It depends how we do at the t'other end.

This is a crazy battle between the 3 sides, Yeovil given a huge lifeline and managed to balls it up.
If i was calling it, and i'm usually wrong i think Yeovil are gone, don't see them getting more than 4 points.
Macc look capable of getting 3 against Cambridge and who knows what they will do at Vale.

Good point for County but how many chances they have had it seems their name is on one of the places.

I'll go for a Macc win against Cambridge which means the other 2 have to win both.

I seem to say this every week, but next Saturday really is crucial. If we go into the last day behind Macc, with them at home to Cambridge, I think we will struggle to overhaul them (although the U’s can pull off a decent result).

That means we need to beat Grimsby, which is entirely doable on their recent form, but need a favour from Vale - a draw for Macc there and they will still be above us on GD, and we aren’t clawing back 8 now.

This all depends on Yeovil not getting a win at Northampton too!

Not as it makes any odds, ( pardon the pun )

Prices are :
Yeovil 1/5
County 2/9
Macc 13/8

Also the reason bookies give strange odds this time of the season is because of weird results.
Any other Saturday i would say Vale 6/4 to beat Macc and Northampton 23/20 to beat Yeovil are fantastic odds.

County are odds on , 10/11 to beat Grimsby.

We are all but doomed , there are only so many times the door can be left ajar for us only for us not to step on through .

This reminds me so much of the 14/15 season with us, Tranmere and Hartlepool. All three of us deserved to go down, even with Pool's miracle recovery. We were all truly dreadful.

Much was made about us and the so called 'Great Escape' Ronnie Moore took over Christmas time when we were rooted at the bottom and did turn us around, think we won 4 in a row at one point, but you and Tranmere were dreadful, couldn't buy a win, think you both had about 2 wins in 20, probably the main reason we stayed up, zero fight from both of you.

As for this season, outside looking in what a catastrophe at Notts (obv I know) Macc were always gonna struggle and Yeovil sound like a basket case club much like Pools were, how are you all still letting Morecambe get away with it, they tease the non league with their presence every season and then they find some clout outta nowhere to stop up, very disappointed in you all.
