One of Holloway's comments post-match did confuse me because he said, and I can't recall exactly, something along the lines of that because your Scout couldn't get into game you had prepared for Tranmere to play in a way that they didn't.

There's all sort of video analysis set-ups/tools out there now to use to be able to watch games if you can't physically get there.
That was a strange comment. Firstly doesn't Holloway look at any footage of teams they're playing, as most managers do. Secondly, we used the same formation that we had for the previous couple of games, so shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone who prepared fully for the game.

Might beat Grimsby as any manager who does his homework can see how we play and easily stop us. If he’s negligent we might get 6 points in our quest for safety’

It really does come across at best like a semi-professional set up behind the scenes at Grimsby.

Calvin Andrew was a real odd one, signed for us during the season we scored goals for fun to back up Pope and Lee Hughes and was awful! Bear in mind this side was the highest scorers in the top 4 leagues that season he scored once... with his arse when Doug Lofts strike deflected in off him!

Since then every time he played against us for Rochdale he usually scored!
Yeah, Calvin's goals seemed to dry up after Vale went down. Good bloke though, and always put a decent shift in. And 100% reliable at scoring in penalty shootouts (blasted hard into the top corner and unsaveable).

Sam Hart's a decent signing for the Shrimpers as well. Very competent left back.

Hart did well for us actually as a kid in the relegation season. Came in did a job in a poor side

Yes, very comfortable on the ball for this level - can play at CB or RB well. Good signing.

Would have Bennett over any our central defenders right now. He is very solid.

You lads weren’t wrong about Rhys Bennett. He’s been quality so far, looks way above League 2 level, far too easy for him.

Gotta feel for Rod Mcdonald who was doing really well before his injury and has now lost his place, but having three decent centre backs is foreign territory for us.

McDonald was doing alright, but always worried me when he faced his own goal with his lack of pace. Bennett is big, strong, decent on the ball and can also run. Vital that we sign him up beyond January.

After building perhaps our worst squad since we returned to the league, one full of old past it players who took 3 months to get fit and absolutely useless youngsters (32 of them to be precise) Holloway has learnt his lesson and we’ve made a new signing.

35 year old winger Filipe Morais, who hasn’t played since March, on an 18 month contract.

Very fit 35 year old....was our best player from January to the summer when we gained promotion to the championship in 2016

Operation sign the 14/15 Bradford City starting XI continues at Blundell Park. Good player though is Morais, consistent for a winger with a trick in him and good knack of finding a goal.

Rumours of Dion Donohue joining Bolton after his rapid and mysterious departure from us today. Signed contract 25 Sept, torn up today.

Fil Morais was decent for Crawley but decided he didn't want to stay down south as his family are all up north .. wife's family?

Played for Oldham on loan last season and the negotiated a mutual termination with us in October.

There's videos if him doing pre season training at St George's on line. He looks fit enough.

Looks like we might be signing super Cedwyn Scott from Hebburn Town. He’s training with us and will play in a reserve game on Wednesday.

Bit of a goal machine at northern league level by all accounts.

Seems that Barnsley are in for our young CB Liam Kitching, lad is absolute quality so would be hard to replace.

What the actual fuck?

I mean I know his brother is good, and he does look decent in soccer aid, but this is a joke surely?

We have a central Midfielder who played 30 games last season in the championship on trial with us.
Rumour has it it is Kieran Lee. He played yes 30 games for Shef Wed last season

The only way is Crawley.

Mark Wright played for us in the conference. He was a decent left back. He has been training with us for a while and played in a friendly v QPR U23s.

I cant see him displacing the two left backs we have but we had to play a centre back there on Saturday so we might see him v Bradford on Tuesday.

He is unlikely come up against his brother Josh on Saturday, he's been unable to get into our 18 man squad for the last few weeks - He didn't even start in the EFL trophy game we had last week, this signing has drawn much amusement amongst our fans.

I will miss listening to him on Haart when I'm in the gym.

Has he been playing anywhere in the last few years apart from Soccer Aid? Playing in the football league is a big step up.

Seems more like a publicity stunt.
