Surprised it's taken Pett so long to find a Club but also that he didn't end up at someone higher up in L2. Stevenage tried to sign him in January but he didn't fancy it because of their league position.

Just been confirmed that we negotiated a 25% sell on fee for Siriki Dembele. Considering his form so far this season you’d expect we might be boosting our already very healthy finances and it couldn’t come at a better time.

Crawley sign experienced keeper, Stuart Nelson on a 3 month deal. He has been out of work since being released by Yeovil in the summer.

Two things spring to mind.

1) the injury Morris suffered at Walsall last week must be worse than we thought.
2) Mas51 will be jealous! :cool1:

He was in our local paper in the summer (he's from Stroud) talking about how he's still hoping to find a club and that he's not ready to retire, so best of luck to the lad.

Would have quite liked him here tbh. Always thought he looked pretty decent.

They might have been healthy pre-Covid, but nobody can claim that right now, not in L2 anyway!

Crawley on the look out for another keeper on a short term deal.

Already have Stuart Nelson but with Morris injured and MxGill suffering fro "heavy" concussion we need someone to sit on the bench and come on if needed.

I did offer but as I'm fat, unfit and have only ever played in goal in kickabouts they turned me down...I offered to do it cheap too! :)

That's one way to watch the team play.

You lot have a real hard-on for calamitous ex-Orient keepers. Good reflexes and a booming (if inaccurate) kick. Flaps at crosses, mistakenly thinks that he’s Franco Baresi on the ball and is easily beaten at his near post from outside the box.

They were healthy mid-COVID too to be fair, £145k profit announced up until the end of May. With £100k to come in from Ollie, a prudent budget plan and potential bailout and/or Dembele windfalls we're definitely doing better than most in this division.

Every club was and still is in trouble from the moment last season got suspended. Think your lot said they have the funds to go untill January without a bail-out.

Yeah, I've been banging that drum harder than anyone on here. We said we'd be making a £400k loss, I think. Offset that with the £145k profit we've just announced though and that alone probably puts us in a better position than most.

We've signed Danny Lloyd on a short term deal. Spent time at Peterborough, Salford and Stockport. Dont think we need another attacking midfielder but i'll take it.

Remember him giving us all the big finger when he scored a hat trick for Peterborough at PP.

I believe we said end of the season. Our financial figures came out last week and they were very healthy, £145,000 profit and that’s before Holloway puts his £100,000 in or any Dembele deal comes in.

This took into account a part of the lockdown, so you’d imagine we’re far better placed than the vast majority of clubs in the league.

Carlisle have signed Rhys Bennett, previously of Peterborough, before that Mansfield.

Any good, Mansfield fans?

Yes, very comfortable on the ball for this level - can play at CB or RB well. Good signing.

Would have Bennett over any our central defenders right now. He is very solid.

Always thought Rhys Bennett was a bit lackadaisical and had a mistake in him every game.

We might have some money coming in too as Dean Henderson makes his England debut.

A few pence if we’re lucky. Manchester United took him as a boy from us because of the shitty rule that means premier league clubs can fuck clubs like us over. We’ll be getting next to fuck all.

Yep. EPPP was a greasy unconscionable "deal" never met the opposition it should have done. The amount of players that have stepped up from the Conference, L2 and L1 and now play for top two tier clubs is much greater than it was before this happened. The extreme optimist in me hopes that that this will be addressed and renegotiated at some point, but we all know that's a pipe dream. Much more likely that it will continue to be almost a dirty little secret that the Premier League clubs are happy to sweep under the carpet.

Some of us were very vocal in how bad a deal it was. But nobody outside of a few lower league clubs paid any attention.
