They are night and day.

Lapslie will give everything he's got, every game. Never tires, and if he does he doesn't show it!

Think/hope he'll do well.

He played well today, he was given two incredible harsh yellow cards, feel sorry for him that was his debut.

I’ve just seen that he was sent off ffs!

Typical Lapslie challenges I’m assuming, committed but maybe mistimed.

Gutted for him, he’s not a dirty player.

We have signed Junior Brown on a free transfer. He was on loan here last season and was very good.

We finally don't have to play a CB or a winger at LB anymore, it's a start.

Newport officially going for it?
We’ve certainly signed some decent players and are actually playing football on the deck! We made £125,000 from the Newcastle EFL Cup game. What could possibly go wrong!!

Could definitely see you lot going up this season. How come Amond isn't starting this season? Or at least from the lineups I've seen he doesn't seem to be.

He has hardly started this year. We’ve tended to go for pace up front with Abrahams and Janneh (on loan from Bristol C) with Ryan Taylor as the holding option. With Taylor currently out injured, Podge came on for the last half hour at Stevenage tonight and held it up quite well. We’ve recently signed Jamie Proctor on loan from Rotherham too so there’s a few options up front. Hopefully, Podge gets his chance as he’s still a bit of a hero here. See that you lost to Harrogate tonight, but would still fancy you to be there or thereabouts this season.

Re Jamie Proctor.

There's definitely a player in there but he is a strange one. He'll play the first few games like he should be in with a shout for England and then disappear for two months. Come back as a decent player and then seemingly become a national north player until he moves on.

It may be a confidence thing but he needs to sort it out.

This pretty much sums up his loan spell at Carlisle a few years back.

Jamie Proctor was god awful here last season.

Almost every player that has played here in the past few years has been though. It's definitely more of an us problem than the player.

Based on the performances of Matt Lund (pretty decent, with a couple of iffy games) since his return to Rochdale, I think you may be right. Is Harrison McGahey still with you? He was competent enough for us in L1.

Lund was alright here, the issue was he couldn't stay on the pitch as he was either injured or suspended. McGahey is injured like the majority of our players, he'd be our starting CB. He's okay.

We have finally signed another keeper.

Mark Howard on a free.

I don't care if he's shit he's better than Rory Watson.

My sources tell me we're signing Joe Day from Cardiff on an emergency loan as both senior keepers are injured. Happy with that.

You said he was great and hailed the fact that he won the World Cup with England u17s (he didn't). I told you he was crap.
you also said Tom White was joining you in January

I will tell you for the tenth time he is on a season long loan

What? No I never - and nor has anyone else. Why the fuck would he nor have signed in the summer if that was the case?

Devitt should make his debut v Harrogate this Saturday. Been self-isolating with the Rona since he joined us.
I'm guessing that was from where he was negotiating with us just prior to joining you - David Dunn got covid and if they had a face to face meeting that would have triggered 14 days isolating.

Yeah, happy to welcome him back into the fold, one of our biggest issues has been creativity and quality in midfield so a much needed signing too.

I see Salford have signed George Boyd, was secretly hoping he might make a return to Boro but was always unlikely.

Jack Bridge signs for Concord Rangers. Can't imagine this is how he expected his season to go when he turned down our contract offer.

The upside is he gets to work on the beautiful Costa del Canvey Island, who wouldn't want that.
