McKirdy strikes me as the sort of player that needs to drop into the National League for 6 months for the penny to finally drop.

Ben Richards-Everton leaves by mutual consent. Hopefully the first of a few out the door this month.

He went on loan to Cambridge in february and signed for them when he wasn't offered a new contract by Tranmere. He wasn't hawked around anywhere. Can i suggest you utilise your love of fantasy by trying to be the next JRR Tolkein. You certainly have a vivid imagination.
was offered to Bolton amongst others....Obviously wanted to stay in the nw but as i said no takers....rightly or wrongly

Taylor is a good signing and I hope he does well like he did last time but the way some vale fans are chatting on Facebook and twitter you would think we have signed Dennis bergkamp.
He’s a fantastic signing. More so for long term. Fans having suffered Whitehead and Burgess at Mansfield and Barrow now get Taylor and the form Conlon is in its a massive massive upgrade. We’ve been crying out for goals in the middle and getting that support to the striker.

He is capable enough to play at L1 and has potential. Just hope he lives up to the high levels of his first stint though as we’ve seen it before!

Was really the only decision you can make here. I didn't like the signing at the time as he certainly in no way met the profile of a John Askey player on or off the pitch and its clear Pugh has similar thoughts. Hopefully for his sake the penny drops with him as that's two clubs who were all too happy move on from him in quick succession. Doubt he will be getting many more.
We wanted to keep him... you may have read plenty of Carlisle fans' views when he left that he wouldn't be missed but Beech said the reason he wasn't on the retained list last summer was because he had already made it clear he wanted to leave.

Wasn’t he rated highly.

He will win his fair share of headers, but he is a quivering wreck with the ball at his feet or if an opposition strikers runs towards him.

Vast majority of Bantams glad to see the back of him

Good luck to him though, wherever he turns up

More interested in his clothing line. Good riddance.

Rovers loanees Sam Smith and Jack Young have returned to their parent clubs. On what's been seen, no great loss, although their opportunities were very limited so hard to be sure.

On Paul Mullin, if Cambridge go up, isn't he likely to accept any new deal and stay? He didn't do that well at L1 level with us, but Micky Mellon didn't seem to rate him and his confidence seems to have grown under a manager who does. Potential to be more than a one season wonder, while from a Rovers perspective grateful for his goals against Watford to earn us the financially lucrative Cup tie against Manyoo

Yeah if we go up then I fancy him to stay, depends on other offers.

Smith had a good spell with us last season and U’s fans would have him back for the second half of this season in a heart beat.

No one deserves that.
it's done a lot of players a lot of good over the years....
Grant Holt and Glenn Murray came to us (both from Carlisle i think) and went onto the Premier League after it did wonders for them.
Jimmy Dunne who has played and scored in the PL this season for Burnley did the same.
Rhys Norrington Davies was on loan at us from Sheff Utd 2 or 3 seasons ago and got his 1st Wales cap this season.

So if a player has the right attitude it can be a good thing. Not so sure McKirdy qualifies under that proviso though....

We have wilfried bony training with us again, rumour is flynny wants him to prove his fitness and desire before offering him anything.

Wasn’t he training with you for quite a while previously? Surely if he had the desire he would be playing for the past few months.

Must be a fitness thing/desire thing as a fit and up for it Bony would be way too good for this division. Surely Newport can't afford his wages? They must be right at the top end of the salary cap looking at their squad.

He signed a short term deal to play in saudi arabia, he's back now and lives fairly local he is 31 so not likely to get a gig at championship level or above, we are under no illusions here if he did sign for us we would'nt be getting the bony of 6/7 years ago when he played for swansea and man city.

From what I've read Mullin didn't really get too many opportunities under Mellon so a bit harsh to say he didn't do it at that level. Mullin can obviously finish but he is actually deceivingly quick and strong. He's played as a lone striker on occasions too and not done too bad but is better in a two.

I'm surprised Sam Smith hasn't done better with you. I would love to see him back here as a back up for Mullin because had he not got injured last season he would have gone on to get 10+ goals for us in a struggling team.

Niall Canavan signed from Plymouth - undisclosed fee.

Decent signing. Unquestionable upgrade on BRE.

We have signed Plymouth centre half Niall Canavan on 18 month deal for undisclosed fee. Canavan was on our books as a boy and is a fan and ex ball boy. Should be a very good signing for us this

Canavan was shocking for us but that was quite a few years ago now, he seems to have done well at Plymouth

Did not see that one coming, but he was on the bench Saturday and we all wondered why. Now we know. He is a good organiser, and does the simple things well. if you are leaking goals he will steady the ship. I understand he was a colt or whatever at Bradford so he is coming home. Surprised but pleased that we got a fee. Wish him well.

Derek Adam’s always liked Canavan, does this add fuel to the fire that he will be your manager soon?
