Well it beats signing our own former players thats for sure.

Vernam any good?

Yeah, he is. His first season and a bit was very stop-start. Restricted to sporadic matches or two at a time, a few niggly injuries here and there. His best spells pre-Chorley loan were when he had a few little runs of five or more starts. Then he went out on loan to Chorley and scored a few. When he came back from that loan (I think), Holloway was in charge and that's when he played his best football for us. You should check out his goals vs Stevenage and Colchester if you haven't. He's got the ability to wriggle through tight gaps between defenders he shouldn't able to. When he's got his tail up, and he's looking to get on the ball he can be very dangerous. Bit of confidence player though, I'd say so I wouldn't be surprised if not doing too well at Burton will have an impact on how well he'll settle straight away at his next club.
