We’re about to announce Tristram Abrahams coming back home from Newport. Exactly what we needed.

Despite having one of the best scoring records in the league yet worst defence Vale are closing on a striker!

Makes little to no sense to me unless Cullen is off. Even then with Brisley picking up a knock and Legges future up in the air centreback really needs to be the focus as otherwise this leaves us with no backup for Crookes and Smith.

Could really do with some of the fringe players departing today.

Danny Preston the LB we had on loan from Forest has gone back. Not that arsed really. Look great at first but quickly tailed off.

Think there is a player in there somewhere but in a poor defence and left badly exposed in front of him, meant it hasn't worked out.

Should pave the way for the loan deals expected today so good to be getting rid of players, shame we can't get rid of a few more especially contracted ones!

Sounds like Phillips is being recalled and being sent to Stanley at the last minute with us having no time to replace him. Everything goals and assist wise has come through him, so this could probably kill our chances off. Thanks Burnley.

We're close to bringing in George Taft permanently after his excellent loan spell.

Feel like we see it so often when a player is class on loan and then is awful when he joins permanently, hope that's not the case here.

Yeah it has been, would have thought at least someone either in this league or the conference would consider Theo on loan. I think in his case he just doesn’t suit our way of playing. Can’t see it doing Leon much good at this point of his career either if he’s not being considered for even the match day squad to stick around either.

Been suggested on Twitter that it’s Will Swan on loan from Forest we are bringing in.

A few suggestions Maynard is off to Cheltenham, similar situation to Cook - he wants to play more.

Will Swann rumoured, taking advantage of the link up with Forest through Sproson (does have his uses).

9 in 9 on loan at Truro and been on the bench for Forest a few times.

Worth a punt on loan.

I've seen that - apparently it depends on if Mansfield get someone in.

The loanee midfielder is from Leicester apparently.

I think it depends on if we can get two in, with Cook already gone.

Vernam is very good, only downside he’s always a game away from an injury, it’s no surprise that he turned into the player we knew he was in the rare 4 months he went without an injury

We've brought Frank Nouble back on loan from Plymouth until the end of the season. Decent move - we've missed his physicality up front to hold the ball up and he'll be a good character to bring back into the dressing room.

Dior Angus has joined moneybags Wrexham after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent so he could join them - guess a striker might be incoming then?

Lucas Akins was a name I saw mentioned - which surprises me because I thought he was still cutting it at Burton

Yes he’s likely announced soon, but we will definitely want another, and he is still cutting it I think - so is Quinn but we managed to get him aswell.

We have Knowles out on loan to Notts County, and Cook at Bradford, if Maynard goes that leaves us with just Reid and Bowery so definitely need two in.

First signing of the day is goalkeeper Jamie Pardington on loan from Wolves, young lad, may suggest Stech who, ultimately has been disappointing is on his way out. Bit of a surprise this one.

Doesn’t make sense otherwise, we don’t need three goalies in the first team.

Wonder if Mark Cullen might fit the bill for you? Clever player with a reasonable scoring record at this level (at home anyway for us). Fallen down the pecking order at Vale since injury with the rise of Rodney and reckon he could do a decent job for you. Keeps up your Vale quota in your squad also.

if he's a target man type of striker possibly?

We’ve signed Robbie Willmott from Newport on loan. Seem to remember him being one of their better players in recent seasons and we need another winger so pretty happy with this.

Need a striker now.

He was not getting the game time with one of our strikers being the league leader. He was being used increasingly to close our games, of which he was great. He added something for us, but that something meant only ten to twenty minutes if we were winning. I don’t blame him wanting more starting time and wish him well.
