Going off David Holdsworth's comments, Rhys Bennett staying at Carlisle seems dead in the water. Bennett said to fans on his Twitch stream that the deal they had offered him was 'disrespectful' and Holdsworth has now said players shouldn't 'bleat about contracts while playing space invaders' (Bennet was playing FIFA).

Holdsworth has also said that the reason Bennett's deal has run out earlier instead of being up to the 30th of June as is normal is that Bennett wanted to keep his options open and not sign an 18 month contract (we offered him one in January) and we didn't want to keep paying him through May and June if he only intended to use that time to search for a new club.

Space invaders >>> FIFA

Especially the soundtrack.

The pleasure being taken is not about Maddison, but about how he was referred to by a certain member when he signed for Bolton.

Grow up.

If Masi makes stupid comments then he's going to get pulled up on them. The fact that Maddison has mental health issues leading to him turning semi-pro is not being mocked - he is not the butt of the joke - Masi is.

Read the follow up post where I mention it and compare to Billy Kee who has done well at Coalville Town FC

valefan16 beat me to it, but another hot take from our resident expert here.
Maddison on his day is as good as any in lge 2
That will still be the case next season when he is playing part time.

I said Lee and Maddison would help us get promotion back in January

I am not really getting the so called joke????????????

I really dont see that as a stupid comment

When i made that comment we was in 18th position in January
Maybe you should heed what i say next season in lge 1

Who knows you may make money from the bookies if you do

Let’s be honest here, Maddison done absolutely nothing for you. If anything he costs you points with the sending off (it was never a red).

He didn’t help you get promoted at all.

Apparently we are talking to Lawrence Vigouroux and James Brophy. Orient fans?

From what I’ve seen Vigouroux was great with his feet but not the best shot stopper. 15 clean sheets not to be sniffed at though.

Vigouroux is a perfectly good shot-stopper, but had a ropey end of the season on that count. The whole team was on the beach for the last 6 or 7 games, so I’m not surprised that his form dropped off. Not seen a better keeper with his feet and commands his area in an aggressive, assured way that inspires confidence. Would be surprised if he rocked up at Cambridge - sure he’ll have better offers.

Brophy is all sizzle and no sausage. One of the fastest players in the league; he’s brilliant at carrying the ball upfield and can beat L2 fullbacks like they’re not there just with kick-and rush. Problem is he does fuck-all with it when he inevitably gets to the byline. Much better at diving for penalties than he is at crossing. Decent at left back for 89 minutes, but will cost you a goal a game by trying to meep meep past three players on the edge of his own area. Fun to watch but I’d doubt his effectiveness above L2.

Nixon linking us to Cole Stockton and Oscar Threlkeld which makes sense given the Adams links.

Stockton has a decent record this year but his record previously is pretty appaling. Threlkeld used to be rated when he was at Plymouth but got no idea these days.

Agree with what E10rifle says.

If Brophy had more of an end product he wouldn't be playing with us, for someone as quick and clever as he is he doesn't have enough assists or goals to his name. I'd still keep him though. He is ok at left back but can take a few needless risks at times - he has cost us one or two goals from there by not doing the basics - like just clearing your lines.

Vigouroux would be a good signing, takes a few too many risks with the ball at his feet but would be a major upgrade on Burton and Mitov for you.

Sparks must have leaked the information to Nixon, there’s no other way.

Threlkeld was good for us but he declined a new contract and moved to Belgium.
Don't know how he did at Salford City but he would be a good signing at Bradford.

More importantly Matthew, will Derek Adams do a good job for us in your opinion?

You may be aware of all the rumours that irrespective of how Morecambe do in the play offs, he is Valley Parade bound next month, I hope!

Yes I think he would do well with Bradford considering now that's he's now got Morecambe into the playoff final.

Only thing is our fans didn't get on with him.

Just out of interest why did the fans not click with him, not even after he guided you to promotion?

It was the players he brought in and the tactics mainly but to his credit he's done really well with Morecambe.

Talks of interest in Paudie O’Connor from two Championship clubs. Rumours also suggesting Callum Cooke may also be sold to finance a promotion push.

I don’t believe O’Connor is Championship quality - but time is on his side. Leeds have a decent sell-on clause, so it’ll have to be a bid of at least £500k+ to even consider.

As for Callum Cooke, it’d be a big loss IMO.

As mentioned above, Stockton appears to have indicated to someone (presumably his agent) that he’s wanting to move here next season? Oscar Threlkeld would be a very good addition - presumably on big wages at Salford? Also linked with Ash Hunter at Salford.

Gonna be a very busy summer window.

We have two senior centre halves in him and Canavan and O’Connor isn’t even the better of the two, I’m not sure he’d get into many L1 starting 11’s never mind the Championship.
All signs continue to point to Adam’s, I very much expect an old Morecambe/Plymouth hybrid come August.
