Oh come, I'm well within my rights to pull him up on this. Not my fault he is yet again incapable of holding his hands up and admitting he got something wrong. To be fair to him though, as with exams, they cancelled the critical thinking module on AS Level Media Studies this year so he hasn't learnt any such skills yet.

Nick Anderton joins Bristol Rovers.

Decent enough player at this level, was with us 18 months, had a good 12 months then a terrible 6 months. Since losing his place to Jack Armer, I was surprised we offered him new terms, but not surprised he’s turned it down.
Kind of ironic given we were ranked 2nd in the division for fan engagement that our own club haven't announced yet that the club captain has left and we found this out from Bristol Rovers.

I just find it amusing that you two bicker like an old married couple that clearly regret ever getting too close.

What’s happening with your other OOC players, Shoddy? Wouldn’t say no to Zanzala, Bennett or Toure down here.

Toure is contracted for next season after we activated an extension clause in his contract.

Bennett we still think is probably going to leave but appears to still be in negotiations with the club. After he publicly criticised the contract offer he was made we all assumed it was done but that was a few weeks ago and he spoke about it again still hinting he may stay or he may leave. Don't know what the crack is there. Maybe we came back with an improved offer.

Zanzala and the others (Patrick and Farman) we haven't had any word on. No doubt whatever we offer, they can get better offers elsewhere in this division.

Zanzala has hinted that he’ll be here next season in a recent interview on the clubs YouTube

Turns out it's 250k for Pollock. Pittance if you're used to writing off millions of debt admittedly, Don. Radio silence on that absolutely ridiculously astronomical £11M again though, I'm guessing? See you in 2022/23. Looking forward to your meltdowns when you're getting Devonshired for the first time.

Why are you still posting your outgoings in the L2 forum

In 2021, 250k is nothing for a player who will apparently become a premier League player. You could have squeezed so much more out of Watford.

I'm not gonna pretend I am really even clued up of our financial situation, we owed 11M to our owner who wrote it off and took our ground in return. I am not sure how we owed him 11M, we certainly overspent a few years ago when trying to get to the Championship but 11M is a lot. I generally put trust in our chairman because we need him to have a football club.

A lot of Grimsby fans (me included) said the same about Fenty until a few years ago, and look where we are now.

Yet even he didn't put us 11m in debt then steal our ground for it.

We don't really have people lining up to buy this football club though.

I've grown pretty apathetic towards that side of the game, there is so much that goes on that no fans have any idea about. As long as I've got a football club to support I'm fairly content.

Asleep at the wheel, then. Maybe you’ll usurp Swindon as this coming season’s basket case relegation?

Oddly, despite us not having put season tickets on sale and the threat of a fan's boycott of inputting any cash in the club until Lee Power has gone, John McGreal has stated we have a pretty good budgie this year for the playing staff.

I suspect this is probably lip service as Power in February said we are skint and we have the EFL loan of 600k to pay back which is going to surely severely restrict what we can do with wages and budgies etc.

you can bet it will be more than a 2 horse race for the basket case prize before the season starts

Good Budgie's don't win football matches though - they just chirp a bit

Only Swindon and Scunny priced up so far for me. Don’t think the other three coming down have particular boardroom concerns, do they? Suppose Oldham with Lemsagam could be a consideration.

We should be the odds on favourite for relegation.

We would have gone down this season had it been a game or two longer.

Were not even a basket case, we've been slowly sleepwalking to the conference for the past few years.

Also Mark Hughes, Sam Finley & Paul Coutts. All 4 signed today. Now for the strikers.
Sure Anderton will do well there... at least for a bit.

You never know how a player is going to change when they move clubs though. When we signed Anderton in January of last season he was a massive improvement on Jack Iredale at left back. Jack Iredale who has just gone and got promoted with Cambridge while Anderton was only good in spells this season but looked like a particular liability at the start and then end of the season when he lost his place in the starting line-up.

Rovers seem to be going for it™ with all these signings and he may well be a key player in a promotion-winning team just like Iredale was.

How realistic the rumours are of tom baylor coming back to mansfield are in unclear, but would be an amazing signing for us if so

I know Barton has targeted winning the league (kiss of death?) and think I saw in our local media that only Salford will apparently have a budget similar to ours - although what about Mansfield and Bradford, assuming they’re big? I’d add Swindon but god knows what’s happening there.

I expect quite a few more high end signings with many to leave in the current squad. Whether we’ll be any good or not is a different question.

Are any of those players any good? Never heard of any of them

Not sure about Mansfield. They seem to be flashing the cash less and less these days, presumably Radford's decided you can't just buy the league (and even if he wanted to, Salford are a little too rich for his blood), you have to be smart.

L2 is a great league. Sometimes any old shite can have a good season. Proper football!

Ps don’t want to stay too long.

Apparently James Wilson was at Vale yesterday, on our forum someone who knows him (he’s from Biddulph) says he was impressed but lot of clubs interested and Carlisle have put a contract offer in, although he doesn’t want to move up there.

i've always thought it was inevitable he'd end up at vale given the local link. i dont really know much about him as a player, other than the clubs he was at.
