Judging by twitter he will be sorely missed your end. Seems a top signing and someone we’ll definitely play further forward.

I heard he was going to Blackpool until they got promoted so looks a very good signing.

Can’t say I’m too fussed to be honest. Enjoyable enough to watch professional kick-and-rush, but he has more success diving to win penalties than he does getting a decent cross in. Never going to have League One-standard end product, but he’ll grab the odd goal. He’s a flier and a trier though, so I wish him all the best.

Come out of nowhere, that rumour. Not even mentioned this end.

We need a keeper, mind. Most of last season we had a 17-year old as our number two who I suspect we'd loan out this season if we can. We were linked to a young lad from WBA on loan who was at Cheltenham last season so either that isn't happening or Vigouroux is coming in as a sub.

He'd never stood out for me. Had a mare against us when at Swindon two or three seasons ago.

Hladky is a better shot-stopper, but Vigs is the best all-round keeper in League Two. Deserves his move up a division and certainly the player I’m most bothered about losing this summer.

Yeah i think when Cole tried at Hearts and Carlisle after being released by Tranmere, those moves didnt really work for him then he returned to us
He wasn’t actually released by us, there was an offer when he chose to try his luck at Hearts. Mellon had got him playing pretty well in the second half of the NL season. Think he’s made the right choice staying at Morecambe and has a little L1 experience already coming through the ranks at TRFC

Cheers lads, a really good balanced write up. Will post these on our board as a view from you guys.

I'm fairly excited, looks like the kind of signing we want to be making the summer, with the obvious few flaws that league 2 players all come with. A couple more like this and us Saddlers will be very pleased, he spoke very highly of our DoF Jamie Fullarton as well as our new Manager Matty Taylor so it seems like those two, combined with the location, made us a better fit right now than you guys. Always had a soft spot for Orient, I see you as the "Walsall of London", so I hope you guys get a good replacement in and have a good season.

Agree with the positives the other lads suggested - Wilko is a gifted footballer for such a big bloke and his mazy dribbles were responsible for the few exciting moments we had last season. Sad he’s gone, though I think he’ll struggle to match last season’s goal tally.

Couple of drawbacks that haven’t been brought up:

1) he’s a walking red card candidate. Mouthy, elbow-happy and prone to losing his rag when fouled/decisions don’t go his way.

2) He is greedy. Don’t think he ever completed a forward pass in his time at Orient. He’ll lay it off if his back is to goal, but if he’s facing it he’ll try and beat his man. And the next one. And the next one. And then shoot from miles out. He’s good enough to do everything on his own, but it’ll frustrate the fuck out of you when it doesn’t work.

Also happy with that - I was starting to worry Quigley might be the striker Adams had a bid in for, but can't see him signing in addition to Cook.
Cooke has been done for a while so I imagine the bid we've put in isn't really relevant to this signing.

Ironic that his only red card for us - Was against Walsall when we won 3-1 and he scored and lost his head after a confrontation with one of their players! But yeah his temprement is questionable at times.

He only got one assist all last season as well, despite having a good season in front of goal.

I meant more that Cook and Quigley are too similar that I can't see him being the player Adams is after.

Sounds like the perfect replacement for Hannant then who is one of the biggest shithouse I’ve seen in an amber shirt. Won so many free kicks and pens.

So Matt not a target then hopefully.
No rumours up here of us being interested in Matt. I think his name cropped up last week as a suggestion when it was rumoured we had made a bid for a contracted league 2 player

I can only really see that type of forward coming in really given the style Adams plays. At least one more in the target man/big lad mould I think.

Apparently we're also interested in Bradfords Conor Wood - not sure how true that one is though..............

Omar Beckle deal also quite close too apparently.............

Connor Wood would be a good signing for you. Our most consistent player in the last 3 years of decline of our fortunes.

He is one most Bantams would have been happy to stay. However, he made no secret last year that he was homesick and isolated up here. Be a good move for him back down there.

He can play left back, left wing back or even left midfield. Sound defensively and capable of a decent cross when overlapping

Good luck to him if you sign him. He would get a good reception back at Valley Parade

Yeah, just imagine that Hannant is still there but someone’s pressed his fast forward button. Watching Broph punt the ball 10 yards and then meep meep past his opposing fullback is great fun.

Think we should all take a moment to thank Carol for what she has done for Port Vale, regardless of who you support.

Pleased we’ve signed Cook! More than capable at this level. I’d expect him to notch 15-20 goals next season.

Yann Songo’o expected to be announced next.

We are signing Joss Labadie. Not sure we need another tough tackling midfielder though, but he does add experience, strength and power to our quite small and young midfield. Very happy and excited with these two signings to mark the start of our new managerial regime, early days still but so much more exciting.

Almost certainly going to be made captain.

Scott Brown had been quiet since retained list day but has just broken his silence with some nice comments. All the best at Exeter, Scott.

This section was particularly interesting though.

The pressure is certainly on Mr Clarke if Browny is right.

Said late season I expected us to spend big, the amount they pumped into the structure Feb onwards meant they would push on but it doesn’t guarantee anything.

Salford spent but didn’t make the play offs twice, Mansfield consistently spend big for the division haven’t done anything, Bradford I’m sure invested in their squad heavily the past two seasons etc so it’s going to need the right decisions be made. Big names don’t always work.

Have you got one that squeals and rolls over at the slightest touch though?

Probably the biggest shithouse in League 2 you’ve just signed but he’s good at what he does to be fair to him.

Which is the reason why I’m disappointed he’s left, I can think of 3 pens off the top of my head he won(vale, Walsall and tranmere) there’s probably more plus the countless free kicks, can’t help but think he’d be an excellent option to have next season but it wasn’t to be, no idea what the club offered him but it’s pretty clear it wasn’t that good, good luck to him with Colchester, no bad words from me.
