Tbf Dan you’re excited for Garner, you’ve seen the reviews from thousands and you’re still excited for him...

That speaks louder than a striker who’s only had one bad club in his career, where he was still your top scorer.

Not particularly excited to be perfectly honest, but from where we were just 3 weeks ago the difference is outstanding. I’m sure Garner isn’t the first manager to fail at one club and do fine at another - Wellens was the same. You do, though, seem to specialise in underperforming managers. Maybe it’s your set up - I have no idea.

Surely, though, you can’t be happy with the stench of Barton permeating through your club. Doubtful he can survive - guilty or not.

I thought this was about Pitman?

I’d disagree with your statement tbh. We did well with DC & GC - Garner worst manager in our history, Tisdale was as expected and Barton, let’s see. The latter 3 were all within 1 year.

Until Garner came in we’d been pretty successful in managers and set up since 2014, Garner changed and ruined all of that.

He didn't get paid did he? Fair enough I say.

He got paid very well last season when ambling around like an old man in a garden centre.

What I will say is that I think this move is the best for all parties. His heart clearly wasn't in it with us and he gets a good move to a team that should be challenging in league 2 this season.

Win win for both clubs - ill be doing an ex Swindon double this season for Pitman top scorer in league 2 and Charlie Austin in the Championship.

Well said AS. Probably best to put this debate to bed now.

Anyone else getting “this season’s Masi vs. Tranmere borefest” vibes with GGMI vs. Swindon?
in fairness it was not ever me against Tranmere it was 3 posters one being a Tranmere fan
The other two were from Grimsby and Port Vale.......Nothing against all 3 teams

Thankfully we have now moved on

I don't comment on friendlies as a rule and I did say we should put this debate to bed . But after watching Pitman this afternoon you could be right. He scored the equaliser from about 1" and the winner from at least 40 yards.

Fair play, he's had a great goalscoring career so at this level should flourish. It will be interesting to see how he does for you. Any goals against Oxford are always welcome.

Kenny Jackett has confirmed that midfielder Ouss Cisse is talking to other clubs and is set to leave us, I too have heard that he is likely to leave this week, no idea where to though.

We had an 18 year old Belgian striker on trial with us today from Norwich, he scored and played very well - Something could materialise from this.

Jackett says no more incomings though for the time being, although the situation will be monitored until the end of August.

Aside from Mark Duffy, who's featured as triallist for us pre-season, it doesn't look like any more additions are imminent with Micky Mellon prepared to wait to bring in those he really wants. Leaves us a looking a bit thin up front in the meantime, but with MMs track record, have to trust his judgement on this.

The trialist we had today was Tyrese Omotoye, he was on loan at Swindon last season and barely featured for them. Looked useful today for ourselves and scored!

Obsessed? The last time and only other time I've posted about him was 6 months ago when he was airing his dirty laundry in public, which seems to be his favourite thing to do. Might be doing a good job, but the guy lacks so much class. Probably why he's a great fit for Bradford! Not jealous at all, off the pitch we're in the best shape we have been for ages.
Late to this just seen it, just to be clear York but a tweet out which a lot of our fans questioned the club about on our forum and social media. Wouldn’t you expect your CEO to clarify something to their customers of it was making them look bad? He wouldn’t have said a word if not for York, they acted like a tin pot amateur business and I don’t blame him for not wanting to do business with them again. Regarding what happened with Grimsby, considering your lot broke Covid protocol, a disease which has killed millions I don’t think you’re in a position to talk about class. Sparks has done nothing slanderous, just exposed clubs that are run as a shambles. Which he should know about as he had to see us run as one first hand before he took over.

A bit of poker play maybe. Don't reveal your hand.

Unable to provide any feedback as we signed him on loan and then never played him. Just one of many chapters of a terrible season last season!

so what exactly are you basing your cum fest on? I saw him play last season. Virtually everyone wanted him gone and are delighted he’s left.

I have no idea what style you are planning to adopt but if it’s a pedestrian style he may be OK. He’s palpably unfit, slower than Douglas Bader running backwards and he’ll do absolutely nothing without the ball.

Christ, he’s coming up 34. A real stodgy signing if that’s the best you’re going to sign. Not cheap on the wages, either.

You’ve been mugged off.
2 goals for Pitman as a sub against Oxford yesterday. Looks like we've been proper "mugged off".

Tbf GGMI, let’s judge him on his league record.

But there are some good early signs for sure. I get what Swindon fans are saying, but Pitman is the exact striker we need. Our attacking line is high energy, skilful and incredibly fast with good delivery - we need a goal hanger to finish chances, someone with good positional play.

When you’re in a relegation dog fight and not creating much, that is not the player you need or want tbf
