Louis Barry from Villa on loan apparently. The first English player to join Barcelona’s academy! He’s currently warming the bench at Ipswich which hasn’t pleased Villa at all. He’ll join up with our Kesler Hayden whose also on loan from Villa.

Vale also sniffing.

Reading the description of him he’s mainly a winger who can fill in as a centre-forward. Not really what we are in need of unless Bolton do a 180 and recall Politic (and I don’t think they will now). We also have Rodney and Amoo as that type of player too.

We're planning on tapping him up tonight.

Sparky as player coach? Not sure his legs are still up to the playing bit.

I think it would be coaching and playing if needed as we have plenty of centre backs and Brendan Galloway out injured.

I think the FGR chap is referring to the Man United's Hughes. Ours as I have said in the Third Div section has never got started .

We are apparently signing a winger on loan from Rangers, Josh McPake. He was very good for Harrogate last season and looks like a decent addition.

Regarding the Mark Hughes Bristol Rovers one our manager has said it's not confirmed that he will sign for us considering now we've brought in Keith Downing as First Team Coach yesterday.

We've announced the signing of Christy Pym from Peterborough until the end of the season - been announced as a temporary signing rather than a loan. Played under Tisdale at Exeter and should be an improvement on Anang and Smith. Will be available from the 3rd January.

Yeah what’s the wording about? Because it is a loan?

Sounds like Ryan Loft is on his way to Colchester for 50k.

We're so desperate for money that we have to accept that on the back of his best performance of the season.

I'd have him in our team right now, because firstly we're bobbins up front, and secondly you could see from his spell with us he does know how to finish which is the exact thing we're missing. However I would be very disappointed if it were announced we were paying money for him.

Not sure how credible, but first rumour I've heard this coming window, is that we are looking to sign Darlington striker Luke Charman

Bradford's name has cropped up in relation to every half-rumour where we are also linked, but I think it just seems like there's a few struggling clubs, particularly those around the North when northern-based players are mentioned and particularly those who a struggling for goals when strikers are mentioned and we just get linked with everyone.

Wouldn’t have minded us going in for Loft, seems a good back up option and good cover for Wilson and Proctor which is need.

We look set to be very active this window with a view to strengthening as the owners are desperate to go up and looks like some deals are almost done.

Im sure Loft would be thrilled at the prospect as being a Port Vale back-up :gr:

Someone mentioned on our forum that Millwall are preparing to bid £750k for Nicky Cadden...our season could start to unravel pretty quickly, as did the last one, if our better players depart in January. I think we may be about to discover how serious the club is about getting promoted to Division One this season.

No chance of getting £750k, he’s out of contract in June.

Richard Hughes has said club policy is to sell players at the ‘sweet spot’ ideally with a year to go on their contracts to maximise the fee. The problem with that is according to transfermarkt Cadden along with Wilson, Adams and Stevens are all out of contract in the summer. So either we sell them this month or lose most of them for nothing.

50k? If he really might be the difference between you staying up and not then that's derisory

It seems that we might be gazumped by Salford re. the signing of Josh McPake.

Salford will be able to pay a higher proportion of his wages, but if it is purely the player's decision, I would hope he would plump for us rather than a club that are poorly managed and apparently heading nowhere again.

If Keith got some of that to spend i'd take it. Our Fans were slagging him the week before, then he comes on scores twice, and he's great.

Think we are in the running for McPake too

He'll be a good freebie for someone in the summer.

If we are trying to sign him, I wouldn't bother trying if I were you. He wont be very good.

I don't think you've signed bad players at all, you've just signed players that don't really fit with your manager.

Didn't Morecambe go up based on being organised and fighting for every last ball? You got Gilliead and Eisa from us, two players who quit on the team towards the end of the season and were never fighters. They're very talented players but I doubt they fit Derek Adams mantra.

Don't know what his mantra is. Rumour here is that we are strengthening by showing the door to the guy who would be the division's leading assistor if he wasn't creating chances for strikers who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.
