Fan: We've just signed [Player] from [Club].
Any good [Club] fans?

Response 1:-
[Club] Fan:
Yeah he's class. Gutted to see him go.
Fan: Great, sounds like exactly what we need in [Position].

Response 2:-
[Club] Fan:
Yeah but was 4th choice here so good move for him to get some games.
Fan: We've probably just signed him as back up/cover for [Current Player].
You've forgotten

Response 3:-
[Club] Fan: No he's shit. Glad we got rid
Fan: Brilliant. I'm sure he will do fantastically well as that is always the reaction we get when getting any player from a league 1/2 rival

Regular football, fans will love him if he puts a shift in. On paper he is just what we need. If that can't motivate him then I guess he's just finished. Time will tell.
Yeah, while I think the main doubts are definitely over his attitude and motivation there's no getting away from the fact that he's only started two matches this season (one of them in August) and he's not scored more than about five goals a season since he left us so I'm not sure if you can even caveat that with him definitely having the ability now. I hope it works out for him with you lot, but I think there are a lot of red flags with this one.
Another fee too, plus another likely incoming with O’Keefe on top of Menayese.
Interesting that Menayese has gone on to play most matches for Walsall this season...

Out of curiosity what else do you think the squad needs? Goalkeeper almost certainly now Mitchell has left, feel like we're more than covered at the back in all departments, a Nathan Thomas type wide midfielder? If Lee fancies switching up to the 'cup formation'
Hartlepool lad Bryn Morris supposed to be signing.
Also another keeper ,but not the
lad from Bradford.

Highly rated? :D Does seem bit of an odd area to add cover, would have though defence came first

Apparently, but has only ever made 1 first team appearance for anyone which doesn’t seem much for a 20 year old. You would have thought he might have had a loan spell somewhere by this point in his career?

With most players getting signed being lower league journeymen you always get differing views... like when Bolton signed Gethin Jones and you had us saying he was decent and the Mansfield fans disagreeing and saying he was garbage.

Heard that was on the cards earlier in the week but hit a snag over wages we offered compared to what he was currently on. Wonder if we’ve gone in with a revised offer.

Another one we told you was good enough to play at this level. Wonder why Cloughie wasn't able to work his magic here?

Are you on wind up?

I never once said he’s not good enough for this level, I said he’s not good enough for Mansfield currently, Clough clearly agreed.

By all accounts he’s done pretty well at Walsall who are currently 17th in the league, he was average against us the other week and got himself sent off recently too, my opnion is the same - good physical attributes but a bit of a muppet with his decision making. Interestingly Walsall have strengthened in his position too.

Cass now out for the season after sustaining two ligament tears in his ankle in training so he'll be heading back to Newcastle. It's just getting to the point we just can't cope with this. Huge blow to us and also for him as an injury like that is just horrible. Wish him all the best in his recovery. Hopefully can see him again in a Vale shirt next season. Guess the player we are looking at bringing in on Monday will be a defender then.

Yeah huge blow, hoped we would have signed him permanently and was talk a few clubs wanted him this week permanently.

Been off form as the season has gone on but was excellent up until November and a big part of the form we had.

Gutted.

Still no striker in at boundary park. We have two in the squad at the moment - Hallam Hopeless and a youth player, Junior Luamba. More and more beginning to look as though bringing Shez in was a clever ploy to get some ticket money into the coffers while having no real intention to give him any of the tools required for his rescue act.

It's just utterly horrendous luck. In the past we can put it down to not bothering with medicals or antiquated training methods but that's not been the case this season, if its not been a freak injury its been covid. His dip in form always looked a blip to me but his ability to bring the ball out from that RCB spot and help create overloads etc was unrivalled in our squad.

From the interview on the clubs Twitter account he hinted at maybe coming back here next season and regardless of which division we are in I would want us to make that happen.

Sources seem to think we are bringing in Aaron Amadi-Holloway from Burton Albion on loan. 28 year old, 11 apps in all comps this season, 3 goals.

It’s extremely frustrating and does feel like it’s just not meant to be this season which considering the work, money and set up we’ve put in place would be a huge under achievement, but not much we can do about it. Lose all our attackers before Xmas, now losing multiple key players across the squad like Cass, Gibbons, Conlon and obviously losing Politic.

It’s probably a case of get the 50 points and try see how long we have to get as close as we can.

In March 2016, Dale won 3-2 at Boundary Park. Sheridan was Latics manager. A lad called Amari Holloway scored the two Oldham goals. Amari has just signed for Barrow on loan.

If John Sheridan had any sort of backing from your owner, I'd have thought someone like Amari Holloway would have been signed by now.

Sadly, I think you're being managed to relegation (by your owner).

Everyone seems to think he's shite but if he can head the ball down and take some physical pressure of the two younger forwards we've brought in hopefully he will offer something.

Well, Sheridan has experience in ensuring relegation at an owner’s behest.

We have brought in 23yo striker John Eppiah from Leicester. Injuries apparently been a problem in his career, assume it goes without saying hes highly rated (probably).

Crawley are being linked with D'Mani Mellor in loan from Manure. He is listed as a striker and has spent the first part of the season on loan at Salford where he has made a whole 3 appearances for the high scor...hmm.

He's a Manchester lad so obviously can't wait to come back south...hmm.
