Lewis Warrington in for us from Everton on loan. Highly rated, will tear it up in league two, fans were hoping he'd get a chance in the first team etc etc
Hope he does well, but feel we'd have better getting in their young defender we were linked with yesterday, as 2 injury prone central defenders and a 40 year old may lead to some very makeshift defensive line ups in the coming weeks.

He only ever played in a midfield 3 when playing 5-3-2 or on the left side of a midfield diamond so hard to define what kinda player he is really.

He was terrible as a winger last season, couldn't take a man on to save his life. He was much better this year when playing centrally and just floating about rather than getting in 1v1's with full backs.
Cheers Don

Sounds right up our street as we play 352 and as Stocky says our midfielders have licence to roam and get forward.

He'd be in a 3-5-2 here with midfielders having a license to get forward. The signing makes more sense from how you've described him. He probably won't actually start for us as it stands, maybe in a rotation format but our midfield 3 is well set and in great form, there's just not much behind it in depth.

Sam Byrne still reckons we'll be signing a more traditional CM Who Needs Mourinho within the next week or two with our window still being open. I could see it being that Holohan from Hartlepool.

We've loaned Devitt to Carlisle.

EDIT: Not a loan we've cancelled his contract.

Dennis could be a decent little pickup for Carlisle. His record in this league is pretty good and they were in some struggling sides so playing for the worst team in the league shouldn’t phase him.

Hahahaha I fucking called it.

This club makes me sick

He’s no CB, but would be an upgrade on what we have at RB.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us sign another 2 before midnight.

Had limited game time for us, always looked solid when he has played though, interestingly played CB vs Charlton in pizza cup.

Where did he say that?

Saw him mention we might see one come in after the window shuts and but presumed he was talking about a striker.

happy we’ve at least brought some players in. Not sure they are of the required quality to stay up, but at least we’ve done something.

Devitt sadly isn’t the same player that left 18 months ago. If he was then we’d stay up comfortably.

Is Devitt even fit? Or is he still injured?

Responded to somebody on Twitter

"Believe there’ll still be interest in getting a more natural central midfielder in the coming weeks, which is more the basis of the Rooney ‘replacement’ line. MH is naturally left-sided, albeit has featured centrally (amongst a few other positions!) this season, like you say."

Strange one is Devitt. Are you right it's only 18 months since he left HG? Feels longer, didn't he leave at the end of the Sheridan / Pressley season? Since leaving injury and age means his stock has plummeted but I know some fans will be over the moon to have him back and maybe that's a calculated move on the part of the board.

Really good signings for Carlisle, can see a big second half of the season play-off push for them

Read the messages to him on twitter from Everton supporters. They make you look massively optimistic most of the time so its fairly revealing about him as a player.
The deadline is 11pm but players can still be signed after if interest is declared and paperwork completed before then. We might still get somebody so wait until tomorrow.
