Oh yeah you take the punt for sure, but the hit rate for signings like that must be pretty low. He’s got surprise free transfer move to Gateshead in a year or two all over him.

Yeah, on the face of it if there wasn’t something amiss he’d have gone to the championship, i see your point.

if Mansfield don’t go up this season they might as well give up trying.

Just when you think you've seen the worst window of all time, we somehow manage to hit new lows.

I challenge any other professional football club to be as inept as Bradford City in the transfer market.

I actually think this might be the worst squad we've had since I started going in the early nineties. Maybe competing with Peter Taylor's squad come to think of it. I mean, Barry Conlon and Zesh Reham would walk straight into this team.

I think that has to have been the busiest January window we’ve ever had.

Had the following outgoings - Rodney, Burgess, Amos, Johnson, Legge, Whitehead. With the exception of Rodney and Legge the rest were never much more than squad fillers really. I’m not counting Cass and Politic as they were never our players in the first place.

Incoming - Holy, Hussey, Hall, Edmondson, Harratt, Cooper, Charsley, Robinson (can’t be any worse than the last person we had with that name). Certainly improved us defensively a lot especially the Hall signing who has been dominant.

Thankfully nobody from above has come in for Conlon or Gibbons so when they’re back I’m quietly confident for the remainder of the season.

Fucking hell that's a scary thought and I actually think you may be right.

Carlisle is such a weird set up currently, have a director of football (which I find bloody ridiculous at this level) to supposedly bring some stability to scouting and bringing in players.

Yet their transfer tactics always seem to be a random last gasp grab from some lucky dip stall at a car boot sale.
Think most clubs at this level have a DoF these days though

Bradford fans I am sorry you've had to watch Donaldson & now have to watch Delfouneso. Feel a bit bad for him because he loved it at Blackpool which was finally a home for him but they moved him on... so in came Evatt his ex teammate to reunite him with Baptiste, Gilks ect. Del was actually probably our best player for the first few months last season when we were absolute woeful, as soon as we reshaped the team & kicked into gear he went into ghost mode on the pitch. He's a bit of a head down sulk, most of the time doesn't look like he can be arsed & does the odd bit of skill to make you think he's got something then you'll not see it again for another 10 games. Couldn't believe we didn't offload him during the summer, he has got flashes but for the life of me can't imagine him as an Adams type player!

Suspect he'll be behind Tom Elliott in the pecking order. Nope, that hasn't cheered me up in the slightest. I hate football.

The most useful thing about him is his versatility he can play up top, in the hole as the 10 & both wings. He ain't a fan of tracking back either, he'll be jogging so I hope you've got some engines in your team!

Wonder if that's why we've brought him in then: versatility. We've already got plenty of strikers who won't contribute much goals. Seems a bit of a strange signing to me.

He's played for Burnley, Blackpool (4 different spells), Blackburn, Bury, Bolton & now Bradford. You was just the next one of the B's to sign him as it's tradition. Don't worry... Barnet will sign him next season probably. All seriousness nothing against the lad, hopefully he does alright for you.... think he scored in both ties last season against you lot. Great club, great stadium... deserve a lot better than the sh*t you're getting season on season!

Yeah we'll have to see how he gets on. Can't play tomorrow so will have to wait for Saturday!

Our stadium is great, isn't it? Look bloody brilliant when we finish it ha All the best for the season.

Some words from Sho-Silva on his Carlisle move:

“Absolutely buzzing to be here, when I found out that FGR Tranmere Newport Northampton Mansfield Swindon Exeter Port Vale Salford Bradford Bristol Rovers Crawley Harrogate Leyton Orient Hartlepool Stevenage Walsall Rochdale Barrow Colchester Oldham and Scunthorpe all didn’t want me then this was always my preferred choice.”

“Let’s do this”

Not a bad window for us! made 3 decent signings there was no recalls for our loan players and most importantly Dom Telford is still with us.

Issac Hutchinson joins Crawley on loan from Derby? He has made first team appearances this season. Sussex lad so close to home.

FGR fans. Your honest views please.

Casey
Underwhelming from what I recall, though it is a bit vague which maybe tells you something in itself; all the usual hype when he signed but never really showed that much as I recall, though seem to remember Cooper would bring him on a bit out of position.

Signing of the window in league 2. How on earth have you managed that, well done to your owner and manager.

Unremarkable/unmemorable based on what we saw of him. But he did join during our traditional mid-season collapse in form and didn't (I think) get a great deal of game time. So we might not have seen him at his best...

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Think most clubs at this level have a DoF these days though

But why?? What the hell do they add here other than just copying the premiership model.

We all change managers every 5 minutes and go from passing to long ball at each change.

It’s hardly like we all here have long term plays and styles of play like you’d want from having a DOF.

Miss the days of a manager actually brining in players he wanted, I suppose it’s down to fact managers as such have died a death because no club gives them more than 6 months to learn.

Never got much of a look in for us but Luke Hendrie is a solid signing Bradford fans, he is sadly not as gorgeous as Richard O'Donnell so maybe thats why you're on about lack of ambition?

As for us we now have loads of centre mids. Probably a couple off to non league. Holohan who is no longer an automatic pick, Martin Smith who's not league standard, possibly Mark Shelton I'd say might be in some risk of the chop. We do tend to hoard loanees and not play them mind so might be that.

Overall the window wasn't as bad as expected for us, should have enough to stay up.

I make it 8 centre mids and that's people who can only really play CM and nowhere else, people must be heading out the door, Smith looks a certainty, was a panicked signing, couldn't even get his game at Chesterfield.

All in all they've turned a crappy looking transfer window into a decent one.

The only one I would've kept was Hendrie but we are starting to get rid of the deadwood. Singh did say he wasn't satisfied with the recruitment this season although that is mainly his fault. At least there are signs it's being tackled but I'd hope for some decent permanent signings in the summer and not U23 cast offs and regional league standard free agents. Singh has got his men in now no excuses to not back them.

Not sure Hendrie specifically is seemed as unambitious, solid enough and better than what we have at right back without being a big name. O’Donnell is on a good wage so not an easy one to move on, likely he won’t get another deal for the same money so no surprises that he’s sticking around for the sake of twenty odd games.

Or as Holdsworth refers to it as, "...my little black book of players"
