More likely to be Callum Cooke, released by ourselves this summer. Andy Cook is staying put
I think it's likely that our twitter was trolling the twitter rumour site by saying we have a cookie and we only need 1

Work experience kid has been put in charge of social media - a terrible attempt at humour that has somewhat backfired.

I was talking to a young couple in the Angel Inn in Bowness last Friday night who support Barrow and they were very optimistic of you having a decent season under Pete Wild.

Wild was a name on quite a few of our fans wishlist before Mark Hughes joined us completely out of the blue. Hope he does well for you and good luck for the coming season, apart from your first home game and the return fixture of course

no - the picture is Brown holding a big cookie and saying there's no room for another
Bloody hell your admin is worse than ours, if ours did something like that there’d be riots.

Callum Cooke would be a good signing though for someone in this division, more mid table than promotion chasing though.

Is Otis Khan any good at the moment then? Remember him being class for Yeovil and never really replicating that at Mansfield but also I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to him.
Crawley still hold the record points tally for that level (I believe) and that was with Grimsby, Luton, Mansfield and Wimbledon. We just about snuck into third place the next season. Trust me. There is a step up.
We weren't pulling up any trees that season, don't think Mansfield were either to be honest. You were mint that season though. We got lucky getting you on the opening day and ragging a win. Didn't you lose Tubbs after that though? Hard to replace 36 goals or whatever it was he got and make the step up a division. I'm not arguing that there isn't a step up, I think each case is different depending on the club. It's quite obviously the easiest step up to make though.

Otis Khan had that great season for Yeovil in a number 10 role but never got going anywhere really since. You could see he had ability at Mansfield but just didn’t manage to hold down a place in the line-up.

Think he may have played down the left for Orient?

Yeah, that kind of ties in with what I had in my head. Never remember him really setting the world alight for you. His CV is pretty much solid League 2 club after solid League 2 club though so he must have some kind of steady Eddie sort of air about him to keep getting gigs like Walsall, Tranmere, Orient, etc.

Nah. Filled in at right back and had a couple of games in the #8 role. Tidy enough player but produced very little in the way of goal threat/assists. No qualms with moving him on if it happens.

It seems the rumour was started by a podcast... which is sponsored by WAGMI! Is their whole thing just pissing around on Twitter?

And yes, our media guy has left so it looks like one of the directors' kids has been given the social media password for the summer.

That was a disaster of a game, Palmer got sent off for a soft “high foot” then Rooney must have realised he had a dentist appointment to get to so decided to call the ref a c***.

Beginning of the end for Gannon that too, as apparently he read them the riot act and slagged them off in his post match interview and certain players had a cry to our Director of Football.
Aye, I felt for Jim that day he spoke from the heart.
And to me he showed his love for the club.

perhaps as they failed in their bid to own Bradford they are winding up their fans and we are just the collateral damage....

We've apparantly offered him a deal, it's thought he wants more money though so not sure if it will happen. I'd take him back though, he was very decent a few years ago when we had him on loan.

If barrow don’t already have a cook playing for them, doesn’t that tweet suggest that there’s room for one? Or have I completely missed the joke.

They are minted from an extremely wealthy fan I believe, they’re like Wrexham but more quiet about it. They did play some great stuff last season (from what I saw), and I’d love their signings for the Gills but we’re not in the same ball park financially.

Impressed by your additions too.
We also spend less money than them (though we obviously we still spend loads) - they spent more in fees last season than we have in two and a half years since the takeover.

If Khan is better as a #10 then he may well be backup to McAtee, good signing if so

Apparently they're about to drop 400k on Sam Sherring as well, so.

I think you're doing yourselves and Mansfield a disservice there. Like every biggish club that goes down there becoming the big game of the season for every opposition can be wearing on a team.

We lost McCalister at the end of that season (16 goals no pens) but signed Tyrone Barnett who was on fire. We sold Tubbs to Bournemouth (his home town club) for £800k and Barnett for £1 1/4 mil in January but didn't adequately replace them and the Evans jumped ship before the end of the season but at least two of that team played at championship level and lots in league one.

Sorry Swindon fans but Harries is appalling. Absolutely no idea why Garner signed him and continued to play him. NL standard on a good day

When we signed him permanently it was after a loan spell and was seen as a bit of a coup, same year we brought in the likes of James Vaughan and Clayton Donaldson so imagine we chucked a decent wedge his way. Without checking his stats he scored something like 6 in 100 games which isn’t good enough for a self proclaimed attacking mid. But he did create chances, it just seemed he’d rather assist which isn’t always bad but he’d often pass when the shot was a far better option. Still there’s certainly a decent player there at this level.

I would argue that any rumour on Twitter that isn’t from an official club source is likely to be 99% bullshit
Then you've got these Alan Nixon types who drip feed but seemingly put most of their rumours behind a pay wall. No idea who he is or where the info he gets but nice little earner anyway.

It's a shame Mark Hughes doesn't read this board as he describes Odusina as a ball playing centre half. He'll be saying he's the best left footed centre back outside the Championship next.

I don't think I've ever seen him crack a Pools rumour yet, is he ever right with anyone, like you say cushy little number selling rumours, if it doesn't come off you can blame any number of reasons why it didn't happen.
