Ahhh, there's more than one Jack Payne. There always seemed to be one in the Conference who was a flair player but shit (Eastleigh?).
Jack Payne is still at Crawley. And yes, we have had people saying we have had Swindon's/Charlton's Jack Payne playing as a trialist.

Our Jack is a short, base of a diamond type midfielder. He got promoted from league 2 a few years ago but then Ebbsfleet offered him a deal and he really fancied the 'cough' project they had there so dropped to the National. Then found it difficult to get back into the league.

Menayese was good for us overall after an absolutely shite start but there has to be a reason he keeps getting farmed out on loan

Decent move for Rollin. He was brilliant for us for the first 4/5 months until we signed him permanently.

His first game as a Walsall player, he scored an own goal after about 5 minutes & it was all downhill from there.

He needed a fresh start as Flynn don’t rate him, he was subbed off after 18 minutes in one of Flynns first games & Flynn never looked back.

All the best, Rollin.

Wimbledon have just announced the permanent signing of Josh Davison from Charlton.
I liked Josh. Hold up play lets him down and he can't win a header. But he will run for 90 minutes and give everything.

Went AWOL in the play offs but we played him for 90 minutes way too much towards the end of the season. High chance he was burnt out by then.

Think he scored 9 goals for us in half a season so should be good for 15 or more over a full one.

Our fans are harsh on him, myself included at times. Wouldn't have minded him back as a squad player really.

They rate him but you never know. We tend to get a player on loan from Brentford most seasons.Last season we got Aaron Presley from them. They rated him, scored 20 goals in Brentford's B team but was poor for us last season. You never quite know what you're going to get with loan player's getting there first taste of league football.

Menayese isn't very good based on what I have seen for and against us. But I believe has looked good at other clubs. During the 5-0 win over Walsall last season he was absolutely hopeless.
oh dear
Hopefully your contact is only half right.

Gime fucking Toure, haway.
Well we are shopping in the bargain bucket isle again.

The result of the poll of season ticket and nft holders is over and it was voted that the prestige signing our manager should go after is a midfielder. Wagmi have said that funds will be made available for Betsy to sign/buy a prestige midfielder of his choice. We are not told how much, just that it will be "prestige" for this level.

Now, if you listen to my warbling you will know I think our current midfielders are OK. I just don't think our midfield, as a unit, works very well so I am in agreement with the vote to go for a midfielder. However, I really think the whole idea of a fans vote being binding is wrong. Imho it's gone well this time but the next or next it will be totally incorrect and where does that leave the manager?

It will be interesting to see who is deemed to fit this scenario.

Not suprised to see Menayese slowly prove me correct, he’s gotta turn up now or end up in non-league.
Fair play, I'll give you that one. What's the current Elliot Hewitt status? Played a lot for you last season, didn't he?

Definitely split the fanbase at ours. I've seen some describe him as a carthorse and destined for non-league. However I thought he was a very hard working striker that had flaws but ended up with 9 goals in 15, so a very decent return. Useless in the air and did have a tendency to let the ball bounce of him a lot. Referees seemed to not give him anything either, a big strong lad that was penalised a lot.

He will give absolutely 100% effort and probably good for at least 15 goals. Seemed a popular guy as well, it will be interesting to see how he gets on at Plough Lane.

Is this for real, a poll amongst fans to determine which position to prioritise a big signing. Your fans are just as bonkers as the owners in taking part and voting for a midfield player. Surely a striker would be priority for any fan of any club at our level.

Glad we dodged these bonkers owners

I'd argue that increasing your budget off a player sale and a cup run is only technically sustainable if you're giving out one year deals or deals that are paid up in full by that windfall. Attendances going up and staying up is obviously sustainable though. Was your budget low last season? Because 40% is a whopping increase if not. It's good for you that they're backing you but I hope they know what they're doing.

Our owners were quite open about saying that we won't be sustainable for a good few seasons based off the state of the club when they came in and how much money they need to pump in either from their own pockets or from investors. Not sure on the size of the task with you guys, but much needed improvements to Blundell Park and the training ground alone have been expensive for us before we even get to the player/staff budget.
I imagine Swindon like Vale and obviously yourselves (I know Carol is supporting your owners from an advice POV) all have the same problem in terms of the sheer amount of money needed to undo the mess inherited.

We’ve had to spend for example millions on Vale Park and the infrastructure. We’ve just opened a 500k Robbie Williams suite (looks mint to be fair) but obviously over time the money it makes will be worth it. We’ve built a new training base and a structure to the coaching staff (we actually have three members of staff who have been EFL managers in Dunne, Flickers plus DC obviously.

Sustainability I’m sure will come but all three need the scars healing of past neglect. That said enjoy the ride as a fan! Seeing the changes and improving fan base and buzz around the place has been as good as the actual success on the field IMO.

Spot on. We’ve ‘spent’ £5m just on reducing debt. We’ve got the purchase of the CG to do this year plus a legally enforceable timescale to get on with ground improvements. We seem to have junked, in the main, relying on loans in favour of permanent signings on 2 year contracts plus an option to extend. We won’t really have an excuse for not getting promoted this season.

I would imagine that George Lapslie of Mansfield Town would fit the bill for you. He comes from down south, he can’t get in Stags first team and dropping down pecking order now we have signed Boateng. He also hinted he wants first team football instead of sitting on bench. Also we have a trialist at the club who we can’t sign until a midfielder leaves.

I assumed the internet geeks would have voted striker as that's the 'sexiest' position. The cynic in me suggests that everyone did vote for a striker but the IT Crowd just said the result was midfielder anyway, as they already have the league's leading scorer from last season, Dom Telford playing for them. I doubt they want to fork out for another 'prestige' striker as they already have one.

Didn't Ebsfleet try something like this a few years back?

Ebbsfleet did try something extremely similar a while back under the name of myfootballclub.com or something like that, initially it got quite a lot of attention then after a few months people lost interest. That particular project didn’t end well.

It just turns your club into a circus, voting on positions to sign, what a load of waffle, the internet's team they're calling it now aren't they? They're just making the NFT freaks feel like they're apart of something, whilst at the same time rinsing them of their ever decreasing in value crypto.

Hartlepool fans ever stop whinging?

They've paid fees for a couple of players, signed about 10 players and are looking to try at match Leigh Griffiths' wage demands.

I know they think I just get on their backs but never stop moaning do they.

When I open OFF and see a Stockport fan as the last post on this thread I just assume you've just signed another midfielder...
