In for Tyler Magloire from Blackburn who we've had on loan previously and our trialist yesterday was ex Chelsea, Newcastle youth player Kyle Scott, last seen playing in the US of A.

Magloire looked very good for us last year too, would have liked him back. Loan was cut short when he was wrestled to the ground and dislocated his shoulder by a Bristol Rovers midfielder. A more forceful Salah/Ramos champions league final situation.

Hopefully it's a permanent deal for Magloire, Boydy was telling anyone who'd listen in the 1908 bar yesterday that we'd signed three players and were waiting to announce them this week.
Yes, But did he name/names.

Rumour that 22 year old LB/LWB Ryan Law is going on loan to Gillingham. He divides the fan base, but I think he is very good going forward, has a good cross. But can be caught out of position a bit In defence. he has simply not played enough games, so the fan base is unified in believing he needs games to improve his positioning. I am not 100% sure of him at the top end league one yet, but he will do a very good job for someone. Do you play with wing backs or a flat back four?

Don't know if it's been mentioned but Rob Hunt, ex Swindon, played on the right wing for Crawley at Hearts.

Good player if I recall but honestly thought he was a right back.

Very handy 7/10 every week type of player but he isn't a winger. Very solid right back, good signing for you.

The two outfield Trialists at Darlington have been tentatively identified as Tyrese Sinclair (again) and young midfielder Connor Malley, who was/may still be at Middlesbrough.
Tyrese’s dad is our U18 coach and we don’t want him, not sure what that say’s. We’ve signed young left sided centre half Adam Long from Wigan

Cheers for that, we have played with a flat back four and switched to a 5 with wingbacks, more so the latter. But I think that was more to do with the ability of the players at Harris’ disposal, I think his preferred formation is more of a 4 but he’s still building his own team after the mess of last season so we’re yet to find out.

Reading this thread and doing a bit of Googling this Magloire sounds like he’d suit us nicely as a Keane/Minihan upgrade. DC seemed to love him as well.

Well I'm expecting Wimbledon to bring in a few this week! A forward and hopefully 2 or 3 more.

I was not as high on Magloire as most others were here. He really is rapid, so obviously that is a huge plus, but i felt that he benefited massively from being in such a great defensive unit. He was also pretty terrible on the ball at times IMO. Think he has upside for sure, but just my two cents worth.

Seems a decision on Swindons Jack Payne is coming this week, I know we've offered him a contract but there is League One interest and I can see him moving to Charlton - just my opinion though, too good a player for this level.

Also saw that James Norwood has moved to Barnsley, I was told we offered him a contract and offered to make him our highest paid player, but our wage offer wasn't good enough and he would only step down to League Two for silly money.
He's one of those yo-yo L2/L1 players I think.

Said it before, but Jack Payne is a fantastic player, even at League One level.
You seem to be the only ones who got a tune out of him at L1 level.

Nah, he was pretty good/passable for us in a useless Jurassic John side that season when we were feeble in L1.

183 L1 appearances - scoring 28 - assisting 30.

Hardly poor.
My point was that his best L1 season was with you, which it was.

Blackburn fans were 'meh' in L1, likewise Oxford and Lincoln so he's been pretty inconsistent when stepping up.

Law has played left back, for instance when on loan at Torquay, but ever since Lowe/ Schuey arrived every level of our teams from the kids upwards plays wing backs. So his recent experience is as a LWB, which suits his running forward and crossing first time game. he scored a cracking goal in the FA cup third round last year against Birmingham a few minutes after coming on as sub, suspect it is online somewhere. He is certainly not afraid to shoot. Is a natural left footer.

That’s debatable, too. I could argue that his best L1 season was actually with Southend - 15/16.

If he didn't have weaknesses he'd be a regular for Blackburn. He's basically a cut and paste of Timi Odusina and that'd suit us fine if the rumours are true.

Ahhh, there's more than one Jack Payne. There always seemed to be one in the Conference who was a flair player but shit (Eastleigh?).

He wasn’t shit in his younger days, don’t really know what happened when we sold him to Peterborough but went downhill, has been at Eastleigh yes, but was at Crawley last season.

LOL there are two Jack Paynes but the other Jack Payne was also decent. He did play for Eastleigh but he also played for Posh and he was at Crawley last season.

However, I think you're thinking of Josh Payne? He would have been at Eastleigh and Woking when you were in the Conference and wasn't as good as the two Jacks. It took me a while to get my head around this too, don't worry.

This is nearly as bad as the 3 Danny Rowe's we had playing for us in about 12 months

Yeah, probably - every southern team seemed to have a player called Payne who was meant to be amazing. They probably all played for Ebbsfleet at some point too.

Would love to see all three Danny Rowes in the same team as all three Ben Davieses.
