Look at that smile. The dream factory in full flow.
I've actually just put that image through the sophisticated enhancement software I got for Christmas and spotted this:

Gillingham's new owners obviously couldn't match the £15.75k p/w demands.
Our Brad sent Gills fans a message saying it was more more like £20k and a 6 year deal, but we pulled out because we won’t need him in the champions league.

Past few months his overall play has been top notch and now has 6 goals in his last 10 starts.

He’s still on way more money than he should be but he’s definitely proving to be an upgrade on Quigley right now.
Any chance you would sell Quigley i know he is out on loan?

I’m not sure if there is a recall to allow us to - I don’t think there is. He definitely won’t play for us again though as long as Challinor is manager so he’ll be available for transfer in the summer.

We've signed Matt Derbyshire for some reason. Even more strange is that we've given him an 18 month deal and he's 36. Stinks of Clayton Donaldson all over again.

Strange, hes only been back from Australia this last week. Can’t see when he could have trained with you.

Heres a tweet dated 21 Dec from him

Last day in oz then back home for Christmas, feel a little sad leaving but family comes first, it’s been a fun/enjoyable 6 months and an experience that will stay with me and the family forever!

Hey ho.
Ah, it looks like he was only training with us for one day but we have stacks of options up front

I’m sure those years in Cyprus and Australia will have primed him perfectly for League Two.

I think we'll be hoping Olaofe can have an impact right away, we need a pacy option up there and to relieve some burden of Madden and Wootton who have to play every game at the moment.

Hearing about the details of the Olaofe deal and what you offered him, it sounds like you're new owner is going for it so hopefully you'll get your wishes in the window. I think you'll be fine.
What details did you hear we offered him? Haven’t heard much down this end except that we “went hard” for him.

In fairness in the season we won this league in 2013, we did so having signed up a similarly aged Deon Burton from the mighty Gabala in Azerbaijan. One of the best signings we've made in years.

We're rumoured to be signing Jake Forster-Caskey from Charlton. Apparently it was meant to happen in the summer but Charlton cocked up the paperwork.

Word from here is we're interested in signing either Jack Marriott from Peterborough and/or Macauley Bonne back from QPR.

Given our position a few of our players are attracting interest from bigger clubs, Paul Smyth in particular but I think he'd be better value at the end of the season when his contract is up and free.

Presume you’d rather have some cash now then get nowt in the summer.

that, plus loan signings being recalled in January is the annual bugbear of most clubs.

The move was always on the cards... definitely top level of NL/decent L2 quality but no room for him in our side. Reckon he'll contribute as much as Whitfield has for you

We don’t really need the cash. The only loan signing recall that would sink us is Idris El Mizouni back to Ipswich. Kelman is a good player but not vital and the other two are just kids playing a bit-part.

Connor Wood has signed for Colchester on loan from ourselves for the rest of the season:

He was alright for us, but both Kenny Jackett and Wellens decided not to persist with him after various runs he had in the team. One or two rumours he fell out with Jackett, Wellens I think just thought Rob Hunt would be the better option - which has been the case.

He has his uses and should be a useful addtion for Colchester, their current left back Al-Amin is only a youngster from their academy, so more experience was needed there for them.

Rumours we are signing a Sheffield striker on loan, some say Daniel Jebbison but that is probably someone guessing.

Hope it is him, but I can't see why they'd loan him out to a L2 club when he was playing L1 football last season.

JT has Tweeted that Scannell has been offered a deal until the end of the season as well.

As per PH after the game - Scanz to the end of the season is a done deal. Apart form that it's the usual PH way of denying that there are any other deals in the offing at all, followed by opening up the bolted door a little later in the interview - not before the cup game, implying there may be something before the next league game. I just want a big nasty target man, who is a top shithouse artist, for John McAtee to play freely behind.
