Appreciate what you say about Walker, clearly had attributes even as a 17 year old.

Think the main concern is he was very big time when he was here previously, hopefully he has lost that side of him. The other concern for me personally is that he couldn’t really run even as a kid, and our current midfield has a real lack of legs in there currently.

Hopefully if the transfer talk is true and he comes in, he is massively improved as you are saying and will be a big help for second half the season.
You talking 10 years ago, you do realise that, yes.

Yes 10 years ago he had an attitude problem and couldn’t run. Could still be the case, fully aware it might not be.

Hence why I said hopefully he has lost that side of him??

Can only go off what I last seen and hope for different. You do realise that, yes?

Sounds like we really dropped the ball by not getting Moxon in the summer. Where’s he likely to go?

There was a rumour a few weeks back that you could be in for him in january. Swansea and Blackburn have also been linked.

have you put your transfer request in yet?
If only I could.

I started watching we were a shit show and we have been a shit show a few times since. Like all of us around here watching our teams is mostly crap and we keep coming back for more...I would say we can't complain but we always do.

We've loaned out striker David Moyo to Barnet for the rest of the season, possibly opening up a spot for another forward player.
We're already linked with former player Elliot Newby from Stockport and that Bohemians central defender Rory Feely.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if there is some deal with Stockport over Robbie Gotts going there and Newby and cash (or a 2nd player) coming too us.

I do indeed realise.
My attitude to life and others differed immensely from the age of 17 to 27
Most other peoples to i would think, possibly yours also.

Yeah Newby is done and dusted to you I believe.

I like Gotts but not really sure where he’d fit in our team?

Our place is like coldritz at the moment for rumours, can't think of any transfer where anyone knew anything about it before it goes through. That said, Hoskins is on 15 goals and 3 assists in 18 matches, and 18 months or not left on his contract I can't see someone with a cash not panic biting for him. Not sure if realistically he'll be able to sustain his first purple patch in 8 years somewhere else, but football club owners aren't known for fantastic long term thinking, and I imagine someone will cough up the 750k+ probably needed to get him.

one of the Newby's was at the match today - but never could tell them apart and Alex wasn't even on the bench at Colchester - so could have been either of them.

Moxon, Mellish and Guy still likely to be sold.
Also rumours of Kristian Dennis being sold to Wrexham and probably 1 or 2 others being touted around. We are currently 4th in the table, so the quick fire jumble sale will be in full swing already while our players’ stock is reasonably high.

Any players being lined up will be quick fixes to see us through till the summer. We had a transfer lined up apparently. But our manager says it’s off because the player has an illness that is going to put him out for at least a month.

I liked the look of Moxon against us on Boxing Day and would love to bring Guy back to us.

Isaac Olaofe was once again watching us tonight so safe to say that one is all wrapped up ready for the new year.

His problem now is getting in the team as Wootton has turned into a goal machine.

I’d be very surprised if somebody paid that much for a soon to be 30 year old who’s never performed consistently above League Two

He was good tonight great hold up play and 2 goals.
Past few months his overall play has been top notch and now has 6 goals in his last 10 starts.

He’s still on way more money than he should be but he’s definitely proving to be an upgrade on Quigley right now.

I think we might see Madden drop back a little more since that's what he does anyway, and spearhead the midfield in place of Hippo/Sarc

Perhaps in time we will. I’m certainly not against the idea but there was a recent interview where JK mooted the idea after a brilliant pass of his lead to a goal (maybe Carlisle) and DC was very adamant he wanted him in the box.

For now it will be nice to have a pacy, powerful striker to come on for the last 20 minutes against weary legs and rest and rotate occasionally to get the new lad the occasional start.

Great thing he’s not cup tied so will be available for FA Cup duty as well.

Charlie Austin confirmed. 6 month deal with a view to getting into coaching.
According to Barton he was training with us for a week but we opted not to sign him. Totally the wrong end of the pitch to be concentrating on as far as we are concerned anyway

Strange, hes only been back from Australia this last week. Can’t see when he could have trained with you.

Heres a tweet dated 21 Dec from him

Last day in oz then back home for Christmas, feel a little sad leaving but family comes first, it’s been a fun/enjoyable 6 months and an experience that will stay with me and the family forever!

If its true about Hartley, I hope we are signing a pair of legs along side him.

Can see Cairns going straight in the team, Killip was somewhere else last night
Players trying to encourge him to come for through balls that no player was chasing down
And his Kicking was crap.

I know Walker is a marmite player for most, I,m going by what the PV fans are saying
We will see.

Dolan, Thought he was older than 29, Think he,s played some games at CB for Newport.
Must have had a hard paper round.

Cairns looked a good keeper to me 200+ apps in L1 recently, probably an upgrade there.

Dolan and Walker are slow, we don't really need a couple of slow midfielders, we have enough of them. Last night was a classic example. No legs in there. I'd be surprised if we signed both, unless there are players outgoing.

Hartley, well he's the experienced CB we need but how long has he been playing in India? Who knows if he's any good now. A gamble but would have pace alongside him in Rollin or if Timi is back as rumoured.

Let's see if any of them actually do sign.

The difference between us & Mansfield last night was pace.
We have non at all & neither do any of these proposed new signings.

If Timi does come back then Hartley is fair enough.
