Woeful left back Brody Paterson joins back up with Paul Hartley at Cove Rangers. On loan for the rest of the season. He better not be on a 2 year deal.

We've signed Thierry Nevers on loan from West ham according to their journos. Been at Newport so far this season but can't say I know anything.

According to West Ham reporter, he’s struggled somewhat at Newport this season, but had a great season in the Prem 2 last year.

Hmm …I’ll reserve any judgement.

To be fair that sounds like Wright prior to his spell with us. Can't say the reviews from Walsall/Colchester fans were reflective of the player we saw.

However, he may be a bit pants. Let's hope for the former.

We've been linked with Ethan Bristow from Tranmere, in the market for a left back which I understand he is?

Don't think he did well at Newport but I've seen him play twice times and thought he had something about him.

There's a YouTube vid of him playing for hammers at Dagenham that's worth a watch.

Matt Jay to Col U confirmed for an undisclosed fee. Probably the right move for both parties and will do very well there.

from the outside that seems a ridiculous signing. You tend to only focus on the league you are in, so I wonder what happened? Out of all Exeter's players you assumed he would easily make the step up to L1?

Amos, Green, Morris or never in a million years surely, Holohan?

Amos, Green, Holohan or Morris then? Can't see it being any of them to be honest. Potentially Morris as he's dropped out the team or Amos but he's just got back into the team. We'd have to have a replacement lined up for any of them, which would suggest an improvement hopefully.

Definitely can't see it being Green or Holohan. Absolute Hursty mainstays this season those two.

He hasn't played lately, struggled to get in a side with Nombe, Brown and now Stansfield. Its just felt that he found it difficult in League One.
He's been with us for 18 years, so maybe he feels the time is right for a new challenge and a move somewhere else.
Always be a legend though, especially for the goal against Barrow which sent us up

Least likely to be Green, most likely to be Morris imo. Not too fussed about him going if he does, a bit meh and slow for my liking. If a replacement is not an upgrade then I will be annoyed though.

Yeah I can imagine it looks very odd from the outside, but in reality his form dipped a bit since last January when he got Covid and there was also interest in him from Portsmouth which seemed to affect him a bit.

He’s been in and out this season, and a change in formation has meant he’s not been able to cement a place. Mainly because Jevani Brown has kicked on and been one of the best in the league for that position.

He’s a very good player though and will work his socks off. I wonder if Col U play with a central attacking midfielder as that’s his best position. His scoring record is excellent too (36 in two seasons) so if they get the best from him, it’s great business on their part.

I'd like to keep Morris personally. I think Holohan is probably the most dispensable of the midfielders (that is assuming that we wouldn't get rid of Hunt after paying a fee for him). Not to say that I don't rate Holohan though, as I do. I just think having him and Clifton and Green in the squad is a bit too workhorsey. Green, like you've alluded to won't be going anywhere and rightly so in my opinion. Clifton is having a great season and is still getting better (probably about to stop developing in the next year or so mind). Then we've got Hunt who is the polar opposite of those three in that he's a ball player, more technical but lacks the grittier side. Morris is the only one of the lot that can do both the creative and the dirtier duties. I think before he got injured he was arguably playing better than anyone in our squad, however he's struggled since coming back and has a poor injury record. If Morris was fully fit all the time, no way he'd be in L2 for me.

I might end up with egg on my face here but I’d say no way in a million years will it be Holohan or Green.
If Hurst lets either of them go then he needs sectioning.

I don't think it'll be Morris after this "If I am being brutally honest, I think the way it was handled was really unprofessional” Morris added. “Just in terms of the communication and other bits and bobs that I won’t go into but it left a bit of a sour taste to be fair" on his Pools snub, for want of a better word.

Anyway, sestonpoolie has just cock teased us all and gone for his tea, can't blame him :fl:

And Peter Hartley signed officially till the end of the season.

I get what you say about Holohan being the most dispensable but he is exactly the sort of player Hurst likes to have in the dressing room so I’d be amazed if it’s him, a bit similar to Pearson in that I think even if not playing he would be around geeing everybody else up, the sort of guy everybody likes.

Yeah, you're right. He seems like a good egg doesn't he, Holohan? I'm happy with our CM options. I think it's the only area of the pitch we don't need to meddle with. We've got Khouri too as well thinking about it, forgot about him.
